Philip Goff is a philosophy professor at Durham University, UK. He spends most of his time trying to work out the ultimate nature of reality.

In his recent book Why? The Purpose of the Universe (Oxford University Press, 2023) he explores whether panpsychism can offer a kind of middle way between traditional belief in God and secular atheism.

04 Apr 2023Who are they really? The Truth Behind Humanity's Greatest Thinkers00:53:32

History is full of highly accomplished and credentialed thinkers who spent much of their time researching paranormal phenomena. Oftentimes, these intellectuals are only remembered for the aspects of their research that is easily digested by the academy and the public. Dr. Jeffrey Kripal of Rice University has spend decades exploring these thinkers and the implications of their work. He has drawn some surprising (and exciting) conclusions.

28 Apr 2023Lucid Dying: Understanding the Near Death Experience00:45:05

Dr. Bruce Greyson has consulted with the National Institutes of Health and addressed symposia on consciousness at the United Nations and at the Dalai Lama’s compound in Dharamsala, India. Dr. Greyson’s interest in near-death experiences began just a few months after graduating from medical school, when he treated an unconscious patient in the emergency room who stunned him the next morning with an account of leaving her body. That event challenged his beliefs about the mind and the brain, and ultimately led him on a journey to study near-death experiences scientifically, leading to more than a hundred publications in medical journals. He co-founded the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS), an organization to support and promote research into these experiences.
