19 Nov 2022 | Drama at Interlagos and testing iRacing Xfinity Series Cars | 00:28:17
Erik and D.J. tested the iRacing Xfinity cars at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last weekend with the replay over at Twitch or YouTube. First, they discuss the drama from last weekend's Formula 1 race at Interlagos. There was drama between Kevin Magnussen & Daniel Ricciardo, Charles LeClerc and Lando Norris, Max and Lewis, and Max and Checo?! Mercedes is the big winner with George Russell getting his first win. In the second half of the episode, we pull up the film and talk about our first test of iRacing Xfinity Series cars and review the numerous mistakes we made during our 40-lap run from Erik hitting the wall a couple of times and D.J. having issues with tire wear despite iRacing's HUD claiming tires were still at 100%. 07 Jan 2023 | Goodbye to IndyCar on iRacing & Wednesday Night Dash Preview | 00:16:14
We kick off our first show of 2023 by talking about our holiday downtime and a purchase D.J. made over Christmas after a party with him and his buddy "Jack". In addition, we close out the discussion of the iRacing/IndyCar licensing controversy by talking about our "Farewell to IndyCar on iRacing " live stream from Indianapolis Motor Speedway and D.J.'s CART US 500-Esq start. Finally, we break down the short show this week previewing the upcoming Wednesday Night Dash season starting on January 11th. Since the IndyCar season had to be canceled due to iRacing licensing issues, we moved on to our NASCAR Next Gen Cup Series, featuring a fun schedule that includes a visit to the new race for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season at Chicago Street Circuit. Finally, we announce that Eli Singh will take over as our new play-by-play announcer for Wednesday Night Dash. 26 Aug 2023 | Talking Racing Movies, IndyCar Silly Season, iRacing Road Courses | 00:51:50
Erik and D.J. are back this week and we kick off the episode by talking about the week in iRacing, first D.J.'s (brief) surprise appearance on Tuesday's Behind Closed Doors series at his arch-enemy track of Laguna Seca and then the struggles we both had on Wednesday Night Dash at Watkins Glen. There's a lot to discuss and review after a bad week. Next, we move on and discuss IndyCar silly season with the announcement of Marcus Ericsson moving to Andretti, where David Malukas will end up, and other driver shifts for all teams not named Penske. The tracker posted on Reddit showed subtle references to the 2001 movie, Driven. If you haven't seen the Stallone and Burt Reynolds movie, you should because it is hilariously bad. We discuss the references and inspiration of the FedEx CART Series in making this super cheesy movie. We close out the segment discussing other racing movies including Days of Thunder and Talladega Nights. Finally, we close out the show by talking a little NASCAR at Daytona and last week's race at Watkins Glen. Wednesday Night Dash the season started July 26th at 10 pm Eastern in the ARCA Menards series cars. Registration is open now! The schedule has been expanded to 10 races and the season fee has been reduced to $40. We'll pro-rate your entry if you join late! Behind Closed Doors returned August 11th at 10 pm eastern in the Dallara IR-18 cars once again. Registration is open now and is FREE! We're hoping to keep the IR-18 alive until the broadcast ban on the car is lifted. AFSP 200 Charity Race is September 17th (New Date) on Stadium Scene TV. 28 Jan 2023 | WND Darlington Raceway and iRacing Daytona 24 Recap | 00:24:03
Erik and D.J. recorded this episode after completing Wednesday Night Dash on January 25, 2023, at Darlington Raceway. From technical problems with iRacing, a big crash at the green flag, and a questionable DQ by the service, there is a lot to unpack from this race. Next, we recap the iRacing Daytona 24 event from last weekend. Erik led the team and D.J. led the 24 hour live stream available for replay over on Stadium Scene TV. Erik talks about the challenges of driving, having to leave for about 10 hours during the beginning of the event and the overall lack of sleep from that weekend. D.J. discusses the challenges of running a 24-hour stream while trying to plan and set up for his kids' birthday party. It was a very rewarding experience, but there will be some changes next year. 25 Feb 2023 | Daytona 500 Recap and Wednesday Night Dash at iRacing Chicago Street Circuit | 00:31:58
Erik and D.J. are back after a week off and joined by F-R Racing Social Media guy, Taka Timmerman. We initially start to talk about the Wednesday Night Dash iRacing Chicago Street Circuit visit, but get back on topic and recap the Daytona 500, Ricky Stenhouse Jr's first win since 2017, his post-race Waffle House trip, and some obscure winners of the 500 over the years. We actually recorded this immediately after the completion of the Wednesday Night Dash iRacing Chicago Street Circuit race presented by The Merch Booth Podcast. Running a NASCAR Next Gen car on a city street where it's extremely bumpy and turns get very tight was definitely a challenge. We recap the race and talk about the dominating performance of former Garage Talk guests, Tyler Lugo-Vickery and Mark Vicars. 10 May 2024 | NASCAR Silly Season Starts Now, Managing iRacing Leagues, Sonsio Grand Prix | 01:00:10
On this week's F-R Racing's Garage Talk, NASCAR Silly Season has started now. We break down Michael McDowell's surprise announcement that he's leaving FRM for Spire and is Stewart-Haas Racing for sale? We know they've been looking at selling a charter or two, but is the entire team going to fold? Next, we get into a discussion about the challenges of managing an iRacing league. As you know, we operate three leagues that are all vastly different as far as the driving, driving styles, and rules go. At the last Indy Racing World Series race at Texas Motor Speedway, we had some issues with inconsistent caution flags on the iRacing platform. Some situations that should have generated a caution didn't and some that did generate a caution, may not have been. Is there a bug in iRacing? Do we not fully understand how automated cautions work? So what's the solution? A dedicated race controller would add cost to the league and admin cautions may address some instances, but may not cover all of them. Does admin cautions create gamesmanship where if someone wrecks, a caution isn't flown could someone successfully sell a caution that may not have been one? We like being transparent, so this segment is a good way to see our thoughts and mindset as we brainstorm possible solutions on the fly. Finally, Erik is headed to Speedway this weekend for the IndyCar Sonsio Grand Prix. We preview the event and talk about some people who will be missing from the track this weekend. ⏱️⏱️SHOW CHAPTERS⏱️⏱️: 00:00:00 - NASCAR Silly Season Shakeup: Surprising Driver Moves and Team Changes 00:12:30 - IndyCar's Future: Potential New Manufacturers and the Search for Engine Diversity 00:25:04 - Penalties and Controversies in Racing: The Impact on Teams and Drivers 00:36:11 - iRacing League Management: Balancing Rules, Feedback, and Fair Play 00:47:23 - Celebrating Milestones in Sim Racing and Anticipating Exciting Giveaways --------- Wednesday Night Dash airs most Wednesdays at 10pm ET. 01 Nov 2024 | iRacing League Wrap-Up, Erik Gets Called Out, NASCAR Homestead Finish | 01:12:48
On this week's episode of Garage Talk, we wrap up the 2024 Wednesday Night Dash iRacing season with a discussion of what went well and what we're looking to update next year. The new season kicks off on January 8th and registration will be open soon. We also unveil the Wednesday Night Dash Season 11 Next Gen schedule and iRacing Indy Racing World Series Season 5 schedule. Erik's controversial take on stage racing gets called out as we debut our first-ever mailbag section of the show. After hearing the perspective of a younger audience member who likes stage racing and correctly points out why YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok videos are so popular as the same logic as stage racing, does Erik soften his stance? In our final segment, we recap the weekend in NASCAR and Formula 1. Tyler Reddick's incredible pass and win, which seemed unlikely before the late caution, are the topics of much discussion. Was Ryan Blaney's move to stick with his normal racing line open the door for Reddick? Oh, and Max vs Lando continued at the Mexican Grand Prix. Liam Lawson vs Checo and Ferrari having a great weekend. --------- Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton Relief Charity Links:

10 Jun 2023 | NASCAR at Gateway, IndyCar in Detroit, F1 in Barcelona, and 2023 iRacing Season 3 Big Update | 00:33:58
Erik and D.J. are back with a new episode. There were some interesting moments with NASCAR at Gateway and F1 in Barcelona (like a double podium for Mercedes), but probably the most interesting part of the weekend was racing in Detroit. Both IMSA and IndyCar returned to the streets of Detroit and the results were very mixed. One thing was obvious the course was strategically placed so you could see the big GM logo on the Renaissance Center. We spend the second half of the show talking about iRacing's new update including the heavily anticipated release of the Cadillac V-Series.R GTP, Ligier JS P320, and Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) replacing the older Porsche 911 GT3. We also discuss the new Willow Springs International Raceway and the big-time graphics improvement that will be used as a foundation for future updates. 21 Mar 2025 | NASCAR In Vegas, F1 in Australia, Brainstorming a New iRacing League | 01:27:28
On this week's episode of F-R Racing's Garage Talk, Erik and D.J. start off going off topic looking at concerts and a surprise throwback name on the 2025 Lollapalooza schedule. Once they get back on topic, it was time to recap the NASCAR weekend in Las Vegas and the rainy chaos of the Formula 1 opening round in Australia. Is Kimi Antonelli the real deal? Next, we discuss our week in iRacing including D.J.'s unexpected return to the broadcast booth, Erik getting hosed by a software glitch, and the penalty flag that ruined Erik's Wednesday Night Dash. Finally, we are talking about bringing out a new iRacing NASCAR themed development league for new and inexperienced drivers to work with each other and build up their race craft to better compete in Wednesday Night Dash. You can hear our process out loud as we go through eligibility, and even the name. As an added bonus, we look at ways that NASCAR's Cup Series can become the Winston Cup again without it being a reference to the previous company (since legally that can't happen). We may have found a solution. ⏱️⏱️VIDEO CHAPTERS⏱️⏱️:

21 Oct 2023 | WND iRacing Season In Review, iRacing Improvements, NASCAR at Homestead and F1 in Austin | 00:55:22
Erik and D.J. are back this week to close out the 2023 Wednesday Night Dash season with a year in review discussion of the ARCA league. We talk about the many lows and how one coaching session with iRacing ARCA Legend, Justin Yee turned D.J.'s season around and gave him a lot of confidence moving forward. Before getting into that season, D.J. discusses why his current state as a hockey fan is "Arizona Coyotes Apologist" and why he is on board with why they should remain in the Phoenix market and can be successful in the Phoenix market. We also throw back to some old IRL discussion from the late 90s including Greg Ray winning at Atlanta Motor Speedway and A.J. Foyt backhanding Arie Luyendyk Sr at a night race in Texas in 1997. We close out the show talking the upcoming weekend of NASCAR at Miami Homestead Speedway and Formula 1 coming back to the states for the second of three trips. -- Wednesday Night Dash is off until early January, but hold your spot now! We have room for about 5-6 more drivers. $40 for 10 races broadcasted with the rest of the cash outside of the broadcast fee thrown into the prize pool. Right before we hit record, D.J. found out his personal account was banned from Facebook due to copyright infringement claims. He discusses what happened, why Facebook is wrong, and his intent to appeal. Next we jump into the shocking news about Penske Racing's Push To Pass controversy which resulted in the disqualification of St Petes winner Josef Newgarden, Scott McLaughlin, and a big penalty for Will Power. 08 Jul 2022 | The Halo saved Zhou Guanyu's Life | 00:29:58
We didn't have a Wednesday Night Dash officially this week, but we held an exhibition race at the new Atlanta Motor Speedway configuration. We talk about how that went, the amazing finish between Colton Gardner and Hunter Hughes, and how a couple of trolls tried to ruin the race at the start. Next, we do a quick discussion of the NASCAR and IndyCar races last week at Road America and Mid Ohio before getting into the bulk of the discussion about the British Grand Prix and how the halo saved Zhou Guanyu's life. The discussion expands into the recent history of the halo used in F1, the lives it has saved already, and the similar IndyCar aeroscreen. We discuss the pros and cons of each and the issues they still face. We have video examples we play on our YouTube broadcast (or watch the videos individually linked below). Finally, we close the show by talking about next week's Wednesday Night Dash at Talladega. July 13th at 10:15pm eastern time on StadiumScene.TV's YouTube and Twitch channels! We'll see you there! 30 Jul 2022 | Jeppson's Malort and iRacing at Bristol | 00:29:58
We're back with episode 8 of F-R Racing's Garage Talk! In this episode, Erik and D.J. talk about Ferrari's rough day in France, the on-track (Hamlin vs Chastain) and off-track (Hamlin/Kyle Busch DQs, drama at Pocono, and Jimmie Johnson driving an IndyCar like a stock car at Iowa Speedway during our segment discussing real racing. We get into a brief discussion about NASCAR's marketing, angering fans, Camping World dropping their sponsorship of the Truck Series after this year, and IndyCar's lousy TV ratings. There's way too much to unpack so we'll have to dedicate an episode to talk about marketing in US auto racing and what we think they can do to change their bad luck. We move into our iRacing discussion with a recap of Wednesday Night Dash and the strong performance from Colton Gardner, Kaden McAreavy clinching the season title, and the race for 2nd and 3rd place going into the final race at Phoenix. We also hype the upcoming new season after Labor Day. 02 Dec 2023 | 2023 Season Finale, F1 Season Wrap, NASCAR's New TV Deal | 01:08:27
Now that the Formula 1 season is done, it's time for us to take a little time off from the show, but we'll be back in early January! Erik and D.J. kick off today's show talking about the end of the Formula 1 season, how Max Verstappen's dominance will go down in the history book + TV ratings if he keeps it up, Alfa Romeo's brand out the door, and Monster Energy leaving Mercedes for McLaren. After a little throwback 90s diecast talk throwing out names like the late Dick Trickle, Buckshot Jones, and others we get on to discussing the new NASCAR TV deal. We really break down NASCAR's shocking TV deal including four partners (FOX, NBC, TNT, and Amazon Prime Video). How will the five races impact the older demographic who haven't embraced streaming? Allegedly the networks are barely breaking even from the last deal, how will they turn a profit this time around and will that negatively impact the broadcast? D.J. breaks down how the model of sports on TV is rapidly changing and in many ways we're returning to the ways of 20-30 years ago with sports on local TV. The well publicized failure of Bally Sports via Diamond Sports Group and several professional teams returning to local TV to broadcast their games. How will the cable companies adapt? --------- Wednesday Night Dash is off until early January, but hold your spot now! 30 Mar 2024 | D.J. jinxed Max Verstappen, IndyCar at Thermal Club, NASCAR at COTA Recap | 00:45:33
Did D.J. jinx Max Verstappen at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix? You decide and we discuss. Also check out our LIVE Raceway live stream from the event last week and judge for yourself! We recap the race, Carlos Sainz's dominating win, the odd penalty given to Fernando Alonso after George Russell wrecked and more! Next we move on and discuss the Thermal Club $1 million dollar challenge (even though the winner got $500k and the top 3 purse was over $1 mil?). Was this event interesting? Should it happen again? Finally, we move onto NASCAR's trip to Circuit of the Americas. We had an exciting weekend of racing with Marco Andretti's rear axel breaking off of his truck while driving, SVG getting into the back of Austin Hill on the last lap of the Xfinity race, and Kyle Busch upset at Christopher Bell in the Cup race. --------- Wednesday Night Dash is back April 17th! $40 for 10 races broadcasted with the rest of the cash outside of the broadcast fee thrown into the prize pool. 23 Aug 2024 | The History of Wednesday Night Dash, Newgarden at Gateway, Rain at Michigan | 00:59:38
As we are coming up on the three-year anniversary of the first time D.J. and Erik live-streamed racing on Wednesday Night, we go back and discuss the history of Wednesday Night Dash and how a goofy one-on-one race turned into a 22-car broadcasted league in its 10th season with hundreds of people tuning in to watch each week. Wednesday Night Dash also was responsible for our second league, the Indy Racing World Series. We talk about how Wednesday Night Dash and the iRacing agreement with IndyCar ending created that series. As we move on to real racing news, we talk about our friend Andy Amendola's new book with 2x Indy 500 winner, Josef Newgarden being released and how Josef signed the first 500 copies of the book. Next, we discuss the controversy at Gateway with Will Power's involvement in David Malukas' crash, and then Power crashing out on the following restart. That led to Power being unhappy with Newgarden. We also discuss the growing voice of both fans and teams being upset with Roger Penske owning the series and owning the top-tier team. We don't believe anything shady is going on, but it does look bad for optics. Finally, we close out discussing a rain-soaked Michigan Cup race, Corey LaJoie's flip, and more. --------- Wednesday Night Dash airs most Wednesdays at 10 pm ET. D.J. is back from vacation and we have a lot of milestones to celebrate (hence the long episode). First, this week is the two-year anniversary of the formation of F-R Racing, LLC. We're celebrating breaking 1000 Instagram followers and having a big surge on TikTok. Next, we're celebrating a successful completion of the Behind Closed Doors IR-18 series featuring an Erik win at Las Vegas, Erik clinching the championship, and D.J. walking in and racing to a 3rd place finish only 0.063 behind Erik! Finally, this is episode 50 of F-R Racing's Garage Talk! We celebrate the only way we know how... with Jeppson's Malört shots (with D.J. doing the full Chicago Handshake with Old Style Beer). We recap the last year of F-R Racing and how we've improved, and things we've done differently from year one to the start of year two. Oh, and congratulations to Ty Ginter, the winner of our Ricky Stenhouse Jr giveaway! 15 Jul 2023 | Changes in F1, IMS Museum, IndyCar on Peacock, NASCAR in ATL | 00:58:22
Erik and D.J. are back with a lot to talk about this week! Formula 1 has a familiar face returning to the grid after a driver was unceremoniously fired after ten races. We talk about McLaren's significant improvement, Alex Albon overachieving at Williams, and why does Checo keep having bad qualification runs? Is he being sabotaged by his crew? Put on your tin foil hats! Next, we talk about IndyCar going Peacock only once again for the Toronto race and if that's really even a good idea. NASCAR at Chicago had a "great" showing on Peacock, but it would be absolutely abysmal if we only had 160,000 people watching an IndyCar race. Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum had a major announcement this week involving a major renovation. Both of us have been to the museum multiple times over the years and share our thoughts on how magical of a place it is. Finally, we talk about the rain-shortened Atlanta race and how great the Xfinity race was this weekend. Wednesday Night Dash returns July 26th at 10 pm Eastern in the ARCA Menards series cars. Did any of you actually enjoy the F1 75 Live unveiling show this week? D.J. thought it was pure cringe and embarrassing and he has a lot more to say about that on this week's F-R Racing's Garage Talk.First off, as we kick off the show, we jump right into the F1 75 live show. For those who missed it, they brought all 10 teams together at the O2 Arena in London to unveil all new liveries and introduce the drivers in the cringiest way possible. Next, we discuss the iRacing Developers update including official announcement for a new track used by IndyCar that has been long missing from the service. We also talk the new ARCA car and some other changes including a controversial one of a "poor connection" alert to drop drivers off the track who are ruining races due to their poor internet connection. Finally, we get into Daytona 500 weekend and discuss everything from the blocks, Ryan Preece flipping his car (again), races ending under caution, penalties, disqualification for Parker Kligerman, and an extremely messy ARCA race on Saturday morning. ⏱️⏱️VIDEO CHAPTERS⏱️⏱️:

D.J. also pulls out a copy of January 2023's Racecar Engineering to show how poorly the article about McLaren's F1 team has aged already, and how Fred Vassur gave an interview about the progress made at Alfa Romero only to bolt to Ferrari likely days after the interview was conducted putting the magazine into an awkward situation. 28 Feb 2025 | NASCAR Inconsistencies, Carson Hocevar Makes Friends, IndyCar Preview | 01:14:08
We're back with another episode of Garage Talk! On this week's episode, we kick it off discussing NASCAR continuing to be inconsistent with those last lap yellows, Carson Hocevar having a line of drivers wanting to talk to him post-race, and the upcoming IndyCar Season. First off, we have to lead right into the show talking about the upcoming IndyCar season, FOX announcing the pit reporters for the broadcasts, and previewing the upcoming season. There just appears to be more hype and excitement leading into this season despite not many changes to the series itself. Next, we move on NASCAR throwing a caution on the last lap with an accident behind and ruining another finish. They claim it was in the name of safety, but then again it's the opposite of what they did at Daytona. Carson Hocevar's aggressive driving continues to bring complaints from other drivers including two drivers who have been pretty aggressive early in their careers as well. 15 Nov 2024 | The State of IndyCar with Sarah Offenbach (@offey_on_track) | 01:14:43
Erik and D.J. are joined this week by Sarah Offenbach (@offey_on_track) on Instagram. Sarah is a motorsports content creator and influencer who has focused primarily on the IndyCar Series the last few years. As we've long promised, we finally sit down and look at the state of the IndyCar series. Why are they struggling with TV ratings? Why are a lot of general fans not familiar with the series drivers? How has the Roger Penske era of IndyCar really gone? Which current IndyCar driver sent her and her husband a congratulatory message for their wedding? Before we get too far into the show, we talk about the NASCAR Championship Weekend and D.J.'s +1200 bet for Joey Logano to win the Championship hit thanks to Alex Bowman's disqualification after the Roval. D.J. celebrates in the only way he can. --------- Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton Relief Charity Links:

15 Apr 2023 | iRacing GT3 League, NASCAR on Dirt and Performing in Vegas? | 00:40:34
Erik and D.J. just finished the Wednesday Night Dash GT3 Sprint Series recruiting race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and there's a lot to talk about with this drastic shift in the WND schedule. D.J. talks about the event being his first league-type race (not counting the Daytona end-of-season race last year) and Erik's struggles with going from a primary oval car over to the GT3 class. We also discuss our car picks for the season and things to work on as the season progresses. We move on and talk about the week in Motorsports with the Bristol dirt race, our take on if the dirt race is even worth it or not, and then move on to IndyCar and discuss the upcoming weekend at Long Beach. The end of the show takes an odd turn after discussing the strange travel schedule that Formula 1 follows and how Las Vegas falls into the mix. That's when we both realize we have been pulled up on the stage of different Vegas shows to participate in the show. We share our experience first with D.J. seeing the late "The Amazing Jonathan" and Erik with Zumanity, a Cirque du Soleil show. F-R Racing's LIVE Raceday is powered by F1 TV Pro. 14 Oct 2023 | iRacing Petit Le Mans Recap, Driving The Dallara IR-18, And F1 Hot Weather | 00:47:05
A big week for iRacing content on this week's F-R Racing's Garage Talk! We kick off the show by recapping the iRacing Petit Le Mans 10-hour endurance race from Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in the LMP2 class. Erik recaps his 2.5-hour racing stint and the challenges of remaining focused during that time. We talk about great runs from Ian Miller (who led our first-ever endurance laps), Hunter Hughes (who was wrecked by a weaving LMP2 car), and Mark Vicars closing out the late stint with a strong run chasing down and almost catching a car that started the stint up multiple laps. P10 in the class and P16 (of 38) overall was a great performance considering that if you subtract the repair time, the team would have finished P2 in class and P8 overall behind six hypercars and the LMP2 winner.A strong performance from both Erik and D.J. in this week's iRacing Behind Closed Doors from Nashville Superspeedway led to the team's first-ever 1-2 finish (Erik winning) in a league race. We recap the challenge of the fuel strategy race and how both cars were very close to running out of fuel when taking the checkered flag. We close out the league racing discussion with our mixed results during Wednesday Night Dash from Homestead Miami Speedway. Finally, we close out the show with a brief Roval discussion and the heat challenges of the Qatar Grand Prix including a driver throwing up, one driver retiring due to almost fainting in the car, and Alonso asking permission to have a bucket of cold water dumped on him during a pit stop. ---- Wednesday Night Dash the season started July 26th at 10 pm Eastern in the ARCA Menards series cars. 16 Sep 2023 | IndyCar at Laguna Seca, NASCAR at Kansas, iRacing Weekly Review, F1 in Vegas Concerns | 00:44:06
We kick off the show this week by doing our iRacing Weekly Review: Behind Closed Doors (IR-18 IndyCar league) at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Wednesday Night Dash (ARCA League) at Irwindale Speedway. We talk about our struggles, fuel mileage strategy issues, and other problems. Next, we talk about the IndyCar finale at Laguna Seca and the struggles that the drivers went through on a newly paved Weathertech Raceway. We think the final number is 20 of the 28 cars were involved in some kind of incident. What went wrong? Who is to blame? We discuss. We then shift over to talking NASCAR at Kansas Speedway with Tyler Reddick's overtime heroics to win and we talk about how evil the NASCAR scheduler was to pick the tracks at elimination points (Daytona, Bristol night race, Charlotte Roval, and Martinsville). Finally, we end discussing the upcoming Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix and all the issues we're seeing between low demand for high-priced hotel rooms, alleged completely empty flights in the days leading up to the event, the high "licensing" costs, MGM's cyberattack struggles, and possibly a worker strike happening at the end of September. Will this event be a total bust? ---- Wednesday Night Dash the season started July 26th at 10 pm Eastern in the ARCA Menards series cars. Registration is open now! 24 Jan 2025 | 2025 Season Premiere, iRacing Daytona 24 Struggles, RIP Bob Uecker | 01:01:50
We are excited to be back for our season premiere of F-R Racing's Garage Talk here in 2025. While the racing hasn't kicked off, there's a lot of news in the world of motorsports to discuss. We kick off the season discussing news in the world of IndyCar including driver changes, the Josef Newgarden commercial that's the talk of the town, and Andy Amendola's Red Racer Books cameo during the commercial. Also, getting used to Lewis Hamilton in a Ferrari, Jack Doohan's short contract with Alpine, and more! We discuss the death of the iconic and legendary Bob Uecker who inspired anyone in both broadcasting and comedy. We discuss his impact on the game of baseball, Miller Lite, and how he is a major part of why Major League was such an iconic movie. Finally, we discuss random stories and the iRacing Daytona 24 issues. The star of the show was the combination of the rains for a majority of the event along with the new iRacing dynamic debris system. 24 Dec 2022 | Emergency Podcast - iRacing IndyCar Licensing Controversy | 00:44:54
This was supposed to be an end-of-the-year highlights show, but the surprise notice that iRacing lost its IndyCar Licensing as of January 1, 2023, needed to be discussed. Erik and D.J. call the emergency podcast to discuss what it means for the future of the NTT IndyCar Series in iRacing, how the licensing impacts the schedule, future updating, and a shock update to the next season of Wednesday Night Dash. Finally, we bring back up the often discussed lack of marketing in the IndyCar series and what happens to the series in the future as it slips further and further behind NASCAR and now Formula 1 in the US market. We also throwback to our past visits to the Indy 500 and how IndyCar can make a few small changes to get the fans re-engaged starting with the crown jewel of the series, the Indy 500. 25 Nov 2023 | F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix Recap and Wednesday Night Dash Schedule Reveal | 00:58:12
D.J. is back from his illness last week (mostly). We kick off the show talking about D.J. taking on the flu and food poisoning at the same time and how at one point his wife had to call 911 and have paramedics come to the house because things got really bad. After a brief discussion about safety, SAFER barriers, and deaths during the 24 hours of Le Mans in the 50s and 60s we go on and talk about an event we've heavily criticized over the course of this year, the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix. We recap the week starting from the damage caused by the drain cover to Carlos Sainz's car and the ridiculous 10-position grid penalty he faced for it, the cold weather causing chaos with grip, the ridiculous Vegas opening ceremonies, and much more. That's all before we even get to the start of the race. We break down the race and how it was actually quite exciting. We talk about Max's penalty, words for the stewards, his accident with George Russell, and oh he still won. Also more on Lando Norris' crash, Lewis' puncture, Haas and Williams' great qualifying runs, but poor races, and so much more! Finally, we get to what we know you've been waiting for, the unveiling of the Wednesday Night Dash Season 8 schedule (skip to 40:30)! We're back in the Next Gen Cup Car in January and will be visiting some tracks that WND has never visited and also visiting some that we've never been to in the Cup car. It's going to be an exciting season and you should join us! --------- Wednesday Night Dash is off until early January, but hold your spot now! We kick off the show this week re-visiting the end of the Daytona 500 and discussing the numerous accidents over the week in ARCA, Trucks, and Xfinity as well. Next, we move on and show off our newly acquired registered trademark. In December of 2021, we submitted our initial filing to register the trademark and logo of F-R Racing. After a little over two years we have received our trademark. We recap the process briefly and talk about some of the delays and mistakes that were made in submitting the application to the USPTO. Finally, we recap the week in iRacing with the debut of the Indy Racing World Series on Stadium Scene TV. Erik recaps his last lap and how it was a nearly identical repeat of last year's last lap incident at Chicagoland. --------- Wednesday Night Dash is back! $40 for 10 races broadcasted with the rest of the cash outside of the broadcast fee thrown into the prize pool. Erik and D.J. are back this week with a special announcement about next week's Wednesday Night Dash ARCA league race! Since there was no Wednesday Night Dash race to break down, we skip right to talking about last week's NASCAR racing at Talladega from Truck, Xfinity, and Cup Series! We talk about the Singapore Formula 1 race and the late/early start of this week's race in Japan. Before ending the show we talk briefly about speculation of what the "general admission" tickets to the Las Vegas Grand Prix will cost and then close out by briefly talking completely off-topic about the end of the Chicago Cubs season. 09 Mar 2024 | iRacing in the Rain, F1 Drama, WND at Texas, and NASCAR at Phoenix | 00:46:58
We have a packed show this week starting with the long awaited release of the iRacing Tempest weather system (rain). We ran a test session earlier in the week from Daytona in heavy rain to experience what the driving was like and came away very impressed. The reviews so far have been largely positive and we'll see how this impacts the endurance events moving forward. Next we discuss Wednesday Night Dash visit to Texas Motor Speedway. Tire management played a major factor in the final results. D.J. talks about his "hug the line" strategy and braking into turn 1 that helped him while start slow, move up for a 4th place finish. Erik did one better and finished P3! We moved on and discussed the soap opera that is Formula 1. What the heck is going on at Red Bull? Do we have a bigger scandal brewing? Will Max, Newey, and Marko actually leave if Christian Horner isn't replaced? Reportedly Ford isn't happy with the situation either and is exploring ending their agreement with Red Bull already. Finally we close out with a discussion of D.J.'s upcoming weekend trip to Phoenix Raceway. --------- Wednesday Night Dash is back! $40 for 10 races broadcasted with the rest of the cash outside of the broadcast fee thrown into the prize pool. 04 Nov 2022 | Ross Chastain's Wall Ride, F1 Snoozer in Mexico, and Wednesday Night Dash 2022 Season Wrap Up | 00:30:42
Erik and D.J. had a bad finish to the 2022 Wednesday Night Dash season, but they're proud of what they accomplished and talk about the people they met and things they learned about running an iRacing league. We recap our struggles at The Milwaukee Mile, talk about where we go next in January, and pitch recruiting more drivers for next season. We of course have to move on to the biggest NASCAR story in a long time, Ty Gibbs wrecking his teammate and knocking him out of the Xfinity playoffs. Just kidding. I think we've all seen the clip about 100 times and heard the audio from the other drivers. Unbelievable, but dangerous move. We talk about how that will impact things for Championship Weekend at Phoenix Raceway. We also talk about who we will likely see pull "the double" (Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day). Some of the names are to be expected, but we throw out a couple that you might not think about as your first picks. We briefly talk about the snooze fest that was the Mexican Grand Prix, Verstappen winning again, and what to watch as the season goes into the last two races. 20 May 2023 | GMR Grand Prix, Ross Chastain, The Return to North Wilkesboro | 00:54:20
We kick off this week's show by discussing Erik's trip to the GMR Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The discussion spins off to talking about being caught in rain storms at the motor speedway, hiding under the metal bleachers, and how looking back on that doesn't look like the smartest place to hide from a thunderstorm. We get back on the discussion again on does IndyCar need more ovals on the schedule. If so, how can they do it safely and keep the racing entertaining? We next move on and discuss Ross Chastain and the controversy with his aggressive driving. Is it good for the sport? Should the drivers be left to police themselves? We close out the segment talking about the upcoming Xfinity schedule and how it's heavy on road courses/street circuits. Finally, we close out by talking about our iRacing leagues (Behind Closed Doors and Wednesday Night Dash). We talked about why D.J. missed the BCD IndyCar race at Indianapolis on Tuesday and some of the struggles we faced racing Laguna Seca on Wednesday Night Dash in the GT3 cars. D.J. hypes his upcoming blog post about his experience with updating to Windows 11 on his gaming PC and how it has impacted the performance of iRacing. 24 Sep 2022 | One Year Anniversary of Wednesday Night Dash | 00:35:20
Can you believe we've been streaming for a year? Our stream was originally inspired by the iRacing Dallara Dash series, but using different cars has gone from Erik and D.J. racing by themselves each week to a league with 15 drivers, broadcasted on Stadium Scene TV, and a prize purse. For this episode, we start off with the race recap of the Wednesday Night Dash iRacing League ARCA series at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course and the bad night for Team F-R Racing. We briefly look ahead to next week's race at Talladega before moving on to discussing the week in NASCAR and Formula 1's schedule release. We close out the episode by watching some of the highlights of our first Wednesday Night Dash from September 15, 2021. We raced Dallara DW12 Indy Cars at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Erik had just received his racing wheel earlier that day. We talk about how his calibration settings were so awful that he couldn't race. It took a two-hour screen share session and tampering with iRacing settings under the hood to get it working. 31 Jan 2025 | Rolex 24 Recap, D.J.'s 90s NASCAR Diecast Collection, iRacing Indy League Preview | 01:01:16
We're back with our second episode of 2025 and we have a lot to talk about regarding the drama at the Rolex 24, some iRacing league previews, and D.J. pulls out his 90s NASCAR diecast collection. First up, there is a lot to digest from the weekend including a post-race disqualification for one of the class winners, Tommy Milner's "iconic" reaction to a BMW driver, a big wreck during the overnight hours, and a massive wreck to start the second race of the MX-5 Cup. We checked in with our friend Heather Hadley, who was part of the big wreck and she confirmed she was ok. Next, D.J. decides to pull out his case of 1990s NASCAR diecast and we review some of the sponsors we used to see in NASCAR back in the 90s and the hilarious "edits" to the tobacco and alcohol sponsors on the "kids" versions of the cars. What, no Miller Lite car for the kids? Finally, we preview the upcoming iRacing Indy Racing World Series league, which kicks off Tuesday, February 4th at 10 pm on Stadium Scene TV . There's still room to join so head over to https://frracingonline.com/irws to learn more and register your spot. 06 Apr 2024 | Garage Talk - D.J. wins at Auto Club Speedway, Richmond Controversy, The Indy/Charlotte Double | 00:35:51
D.J. finally got his first win during the Indy Racing World Series at Auto Club Speedway last Tuesday. A very bold fuel strategy gamble allows him to hold off the rest of the field and snap his iRacing winless drought. We spend the first part of the show breaking down the race on @Stadiumscene and D.J.'s mindset during his extreme fuel-saving methods over the last 30 laps of the race. Next, we move on and discuss Denny Hamlin's controversial restart during overtime at Richmond. We also discuss NASCAR's "response" to the call and question what do you do to fix something like that? Finally, as we get closer to May we discuss the drivers who have pulled off the "double" of running both the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600. Kyle Larson looks to become only the second driver to complete all 1100 miles between the two races (Tony Stewart, 2001 being the other). D.J. misread an article and stated Kurt Busch also completed 1100 miles in 2014, but that was not correct. Finally, tune in for our all-new monthly racing special Saturday at 9am ET on Stadium Scene TV from iRacing Indianapolis Motor Speedway! The F-R Racing Endurance Team will be running monthly races in a GT Sprint-style setup to focus on development and preparation for official events on the iRacing platform. D.J. and Taka will have the call. --------- Wednesday Night Dash is back April 17th! $40 for 10 races broadcasted with the rest of the cash outside of the broadcast fee thrown into the prize pool. 11 Feb 2023 | NASCAR 2023 Race Names, Clash at the Coliseum Review, and Chicago Street Circuit | 00:31:22
A lot to unpack with the NASCAR season coming up. We kick off the show by talking briefly about Kyle Busch's legal troubles after a vacation to Mexico and sharing our thoughts on the questionable decision-making to have the Clash at the Coliseum again. A discussion goes off-topic when the Daytona Xfinity race name gets brought up and as a result, we decide to walk through the list of race sponsors for the Cup, Xfinity, and Craftsman Truck Series for this year. There are surprisingly still quite a few races without a race sponsor and one sponsor that comes up multiple times in the truck series. Should F-R Racing sponsor one of those Truck Series races? Finally, we close out by talking about the upcoming Wednesday Night Dash iRacing league race at the Chicago Street Circuit. It appears the braking has changed on the car, so we could run into additional challenges as we run this race. Don't forget to tune into Wednesday Night Dash this season at 10:15 pm eastern. 17 Jun 2023 | iRacing Rudskogen Motorsenter, 2023 Le Mans, Garage 56, NASCAR at Sonoma | 00:39:34
Erik and D.J. are back with another all-new episode of Garage Talk! In this week's episode, we kick off the discussion about our Wednesday Night Dash league at iRacing Rudskogen Motorsenter. The GT3 cars have been a challenge for our inexperienced driving and we agree that we can't wait for this season to end. We get into the discussion of the changes to the ARCA Menards series car in iRacing and how that will impact the racing style. Next, we talk about Le Mans and the confusion with the fact it actually is on Hulu. Then we talk about the coverage and how both the GTE and Garage 56 cars didn't get a lot of coverage and how the hypercars received most of the action on TV except for a handful of exceptions. Finally, we discuss Anthony Alfredo's scary crash from a stuck throttle during practice at Sonoma and are glad that he walked away ok. We've interacted with Anthony quite a few times on social media and D.J. met him at Phoenix Raceway back in the spring. He's a great guy and a great ambassador for the sport. We close out the show talking about the cup race and the upcoming switch to the NBC schedule featuring the logistical nightmare that will be the Chicago Street Race. D.J. will be out next week so be sure to tune in and find who Erik gets as his guest co-host! Be sure to enter our contest for a chance to win a free autographed diecast from Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Contest ends on June 28th. 28 Oct 2023 | iRacing Fun Races, F1 in Austin, NASCAR at Homestead | 01:05:03
In today's F-R Racing's Garage Talk, Erik and D.J. are joined by F-R Racing's Social Media Specialist, birthday boy, and newest Race Control guy, Taka Timmerman. The three talk about the Wednesday Night Dash end-of-year "fun race" where we thought it would be a good idea to mix Craftsman Truck Series Trucks on the same track as the old NASCAR Gen 4 cars at the old configuration of Atlanta Motor Speedway. The race ended up being a lot of fun and extremely challenging when it came to tire management. Despite the fact D.J. was the last truck standing and essentially won the truck class by default, he was still in a celebratory mood by quoting Cal Naughton Jr from Talladega Nights. We move on and discuss the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas. First how the drivers universally dislike the sprint weekends, how Max Verstappen had issues with his brakes, and the disqualification of Lewis Hamilton and Charles LeClerc over a piece of wood under the car. We close out the show talking about NASCAR at Homestead and what we're going to do the rest of the year now that the WND season is over and NASCAR/F1 will be wrapping up soon. -- Wednesday Night Dash is off until early January, but hold your spot now! We have room for about 5-6 more drivers. $40 for 10 races broadcasted with the rest of the cash outside of the broadcast fee thrown into the prize pool. 03 May 2024 | Wednesday Night Dash Film Session at Daytona, Malukas Released, Newey Leaves Red Bull | 00:50:58
Today's we're joined by our Business Manager, Takato Timmerman because we needed to breakdown the Wednesday Night Dash race from Daytona. Video of this episode will be released at 8pm ET on May 3rd. But first, we briefly break down the news of Arrow McLaren releasing David Malukas from his contract as a result of missing the first four races of the season due to injury. Second, in big breaking Formula 1 news, long time Red Bull F1 legendary car designer, Adrian Newey announces his departure from the team. The bulk of the episode we review the video from Wednesday Night Dash at Daytona on May 1st, 2024. The rarely used "Superspeedway Caution" was thrown on lap 3 of the race and the competition caution was shifted by three laps due to a big wreck. In all, three large wrecks occurred in the 40 lap race and we wanted to learn more why and what can be done to prevent this in the future. This session is not meant as a knock or insult on anyone or their driving. --------- Wednesday Night Dash airs most Wednesdays at 10pm ET. Erik and D.J. are back this week recapping the first two weeks of Wednesday Night Dash iRacing Series and breaking down Erik's two wins so far. In addition to what we look at that went right, we look at what's going wrong with D.J. so far this season. We talk about D.J.'s poor tire strategy that cost him at Michigan and while he generally avoided the big mess of wrecks at Talladega, his poor starts on the green flag put him out in no man's land and cost him a podium spot. In the second half of the show, we talk about the upcoming Daytona 24 Race on the iRacing platform and the broadcast plan for both D.J. and Erik. Erik will be fielding a team with former guests Mark Vicars, Hunter Hughes, and a couple of others. We talk a little about how the team almost fell apart two days before the event and how social media and some friends we've made through the sim racing community came together to race with us. 11 Mar 2023 | Bahrain F1, Indy St Pete, NASCAR Vegas, and Blinking in iRacing | 00:35:54
A busy weekend in motorsports as Formula 1 returned with a snooze fest in Bahrain, IndyCar had an exciting event in St Petersburg, and William Byron came out on top in Las Vegas. We talk about the importance of sponsors like HyVee to the IndyCar series despite not understanding why a regional chain store would spend so much time and effort to become nationally known. Next, we move on and discuss the concept of "blinking" inside iRacing and what it is. For those that don't know, blinking usually occurs when someone is on a lousy internet connection or their PC resources are maxed out during a race that their car "blinks". iRacing is pretty vague on the rules regarding proper etiquette so it comes down to a case-by-case basis and leagues set their own rules. That being said, what is a fair rule? We discuss and don't come to a conclusion, but it is a good discussion. Finally, in the video version, D.J. shows off his new toy from Extreme Sim Racing, so check that out. Don't forget to tune into Wednesday Night Dash this season at 10:15 pm eastern. Next, we get into the mess of a weekend for the NASCAR Busch Clash including talking about NASCAR Mexico, the Ricky Bobby-esq numbers on the windshields, and the types of tracks the series races in. 29 Jul 2023 | Erik goes to Iowa Speedway, Wednesday Night Dash iRacing Recap | 00:58:12
Erik is back from Newton, Iowa and he has a lot of stories to share about his experience at Iowa Speedway. We talk about how he acquired one of the official event signs, his experience at Hy-Vee the big sponsor of the event, the race itself, a surprise heavy rain storm, and the Kenny Chesney and Carrie Underwood concerts at the event. Next, we move on and talk a little Formula 1 and Denny Hamlin's "moves" at Pocono. Were they dirty? Was it a crafty veteran move? We discuss. We also get off-topic and talk about bands that we probably should be ashamed to admit that we like, but aren't. That discussion spills over into getting around album parental labels as kids and setting up Bloodhound Gang band reference liveries for a Pocono race. 27 May 2023 | Indy 500 Qualifying Drama, RLL and Graham Rahal, North Wilkesboro, and WND at VIR | 00:47:03
Indy 500 qualification was full of drama, successes, and failures. You either had a great weekend or an absolutely horrible weekend. There was no middle ground. One of the teams that had the worst weekends was Rahal Letterman Lanigan (RLL) which ultimately resulted in Graham Rahal missing the field....or did he? We break down the weekend in qualifying and how exciting it was. We touch on NASCAR's return to North Wilkesboro with a largely boring race, drama involving Bubba Wallace's radio, and Kyle Larson dominating the weekend. We also briefly touch on this weekend's Formula 1 heading to Monaco and how likely it's going to be another snoozefest. We close out the episode previewing our upcoming watch along live stream starting Sunday morning at 9 am eastern for the Monaco Grand Prix as we go directly into the Indy 500! Be sure to tune in for that. We do briefly touch on Wednesday Night Dash at VIRginia International Raceway and how the track swallowed everyone alive except for race winner, Ian Miller. 18 Oct 2024 | Erik's Malört Journey, iRacing IRWS Season Recap, NASCAR Playoffs Shakeup | 00:39:40
In this week's episode, Erik brings out the bottle of Jeppson's Malört as he deals with that notorious aftertaste after a bad performance during the iRacing Indy Racing World Series season finale from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Next up, we get right into the recap of NASCAR's visit to the newly redesigned Charlotte Roval. We discussed the design changes, whether the racing was any good, Parker Kligerman's almost win, and the brutal way he missed out on his first career Xfinity Series win over a NASCAR scoring controversy that didn't need to happen had they thrown the caution at the appropriate time (earlier). The big news is Alex Bowman was disqualified post-race for his car being underweight. Joey Logano who missed out on the group of eight will take his place. Finally, we recap the iRacing Indy Racing World Series competition now that the season is over. What went well (not much) and what are we going to work on for next season when we return from break in January 2025. --------- Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton Relief Charity Links:

03 Jun 2023 | Indy 500 Recap, Rain in Charlotte, iRacing GT3 Struggles | 00:50:43
Taka is back from Japan and joins Erik and D.J. for an all-new episode of F-R Racing's Garage Talk! We spend the bulk of the time this week breaking down the Garage Talk LIVE Raceday from over the weekend, first with a brief recap of the Monaco Grand Prix. We move on to the Indianapolis 500. During that discussion, we talk about how the first half of the race was pretty uneventful outside of Graham Rahal's car not firing. After Sting Ray Robb crashed out, things got crazy with three red flags and a controversial ending where the race was flagged with two laps to go followed by a partial yellow flag lap and green and white flags at the same time. We discuss why that happened, how that possibly could have been avoided, and what IndyCar can do to make sure something like that doesn't happen again. Finally, before we wrap the episode, we talk about our struggles during this season's Wednesday Night Dash GT3 league. We also discuss a little bit about the ending of the Behind Closed Doors IndyCar IR-18 season, and what's next for Wednesday Night Dash. On this edition of F-R Racing's Garage Talk, our old friend, Jeppson's Malört returns to cap off a bad week of racing on the iRacing platform. We talk about our iRacing IndyCar series with D.J. doing play-by-play for the first time and Erik getting a black flag exiting the pits, ruining his night. We move on to the Wednesday Night Dash Xfinity Series and D.J. discusses his lap 1 wreck that ruined his night and Erik's struggles with iRacing blinking and other wrecks. We move on and discuss Max Verstappen's fine and community service for swearing during the FIA press conference in Singapore and how the chaos agent himself responded to the FIA's action. Will we see Valtteri Bottas driving in IndyCar next year? D.J. is also planning a trip back to the Midwest for a wedding in 2025 so maybe we'll have to host our first show with a live audience at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We move on and do a quick recap of NASCAR at Nashville and a quick review of the schedule this weekend. Finally, we talk Wednesday Night Dash at Darlington earlier this week. A tough track as most people familiar with the track know, yet WND driver Colton Gardner won his first race and handled the track like a pro. Congrats to Colton! Erik and D.J. are back and talk about the Wednesday Night Dash exhibition race at Auto Club Speedway and hype the upcoming season in the ARCA Menards cars (see below for a link to join the league). We also unveil the new play-by-play announcer and it's someone you already know if you've ever watched Wednesday Night Dash! During the segment, we talk about Erik having to protest someone on iRacing for the very first time and we discuss what on earth drives someone to pay money to come onto a service like iRacing or any other game just to ruin it for everyone else and only to be eventually banned from the service without a refund. Next, we move on and talk about the IndyCar race at Toronto on Peacock only and discuss does Romain Grosjean have the yips? Does Andretti clear house? What do we think of Colton Herta's performances so far this season? Finally, we close out by talking briefly about the NASCAR race on Monday at New Hampshire and talk about Erik's upcoming trip to Iowa Speedway for the IndyCar race. Erik and D.J. are back with another episode of F-R Racing's Garage Talk! In this week's episode, we talk about our experiences this week with Wednesday Night Dash on @Stadiumscene from Dover Motor Speedway. Erik and D.J. had completely opposite experiences. Erik also recaps the first week of the Behind Closed Doors IR-18 iRacing series. Next Erik shares his experience with visiting Michigan International Speedway and how horrendous the parking experience is. We talk about the race, Tyler Reddick's radio profanity, and Chris Buescher winning again. We close out the show talking about Indianapolis weekend featuring a trip to IRP for the Trucks, and quite possibly the last trip to the road course for the Cup Series. It also might be the last time we see the double NASCAR/Indy weekend. Wednesday Night Dash the season started July 26th at 10 pm Eastern in the ARCA Menards series cars. Registration is open now! The schedule has been expanded to 10 races and the season fee has been reduced to $40. We'll pro-rate your entry if you join late! Behind Closed Doors returns on August 11th at 10 pm eastern in the Dallara IR-18 cars once again. Registration is open now and is FREE! We're hoping to keep the IR-18 alive until the broadcast ban on the car is lifted. AFSP 200 Charity Race is September 17th (New Date) on Stadium Scene TV. We're raising money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. A minimum $20 donation to AFSP through our fundraising link is your entry fee to race NASCAR Next Gen Cup Cars at Michigan International Speedway. 11 Nov 2023 | NASCAR Championship Weekend Recap, Formula 1 at Brazil | 00:55:12
Erik and D.J. kick off this all new episode with some trivia! Now that Kevin Harvick has retired, who are the five most experienced drivers (based on debut date) in the NASCAR Cup Series? Listen and find out! First off, time to recap the entire championship weekend starting with the disaster of a Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday Night that resulted in several overtime restarts, Corey Heim seeking revenge on Carson Hocevar likely costing Grant Enfinger a title, and more. Next, we move on and discuss D.J.'s trip to Phoenix Raceway for the Xfinity Series Championship race, D.J. missing out an opportunity to see the Garage 56 car in person, but otherwise seeing a great race with Cole Custer taking the season championship. We move onto Sunday and discuss Ryan Blaney vs Ross Chastain's battle and NBC largely ignoring Ross' win and focusing on Blaney. We do note that if you're old enough to remember the Winston Cup (pre-playoff) finales, it wasn't common for the Championship Winner to win the race and TV largely ignored the race winner to focus on the season champion. Finally, we close out the show after a brief technical difficulty of D.J.'s Internet cutting out discussing Formula 1 at Interlagos. Topics include the severe weather during qualification, Charles LeClerc's incident during the formation lap, Alex Albon and Kevin Magnussen's wreck on the first turn of lap 1, and the exciting battle for 3rd between Fernando Alonso and Sergio Perez. Next up is the much criticized, but highly anticipated Las Vegas Grand Prix! We'll be hosting Garage Talk LIVE Raceday during the broadcast on our streaming channels (Facebook, Twitch, YouTube). Erik will most likely be late to the event so we'll be announcing D.J.'s guest co-host here soon! --------- Wednesday Night Dash is off until early January, but hold your spot now! We have room for about 5-6 more drivers. $40 for 10 races broadcasted with the rest of the cash outside of the broadcast fee thrown into the prize pool. Behind Closed Doors is taking the holiday season off as well. Registration will continue to be free Follow F-R Racing:

Erik was not in attendance, but D.J. had an ok night (compared to previous weeks) and both discuss getting ready for Laguna Seca. 03 Feb 2024 | AFSP 200 Charity Race Recap, WND at Bristol, Indy Racing World Series | 00:44:39
We kick off the show this week by recapping the AFSP 200 charity race for the AFSP on Apex Racing TV last Saturday night. It was a fantastic event with 23 very talented drivers (plus D.J.) competing and put on a great show for 100 laps around Michigan International Speedway! In the end, we raised $1450 for the AFSP, gave away some awesome prizes, and overall had a great night! Thank you to all who donated, participated in the race, or just tuned in to watch! We will be back again next year! We turn our attention to breaking news out of Formula 1 where it was announced that the Andretti Global team led by Michael Andretti will not be joining Formula 1 in 2025 or 2026 because of well.. reasons. We talk about the tone-deaf and arrogant statement released outlining why they were rejected and our thoughts. We'll be running a 10-race broadcasted season on Stadium Scene TV. --------- Wednesday Night Dash is back! $40 for 10 races broadcasted with the rest of the cash outside of the broadcast fee thrown into the prize pool. 14 Sep 2024 | IndyCar Tracks and Marketing, Big F1 News, Live Long And Prosper | 01:00:46
On this week's Garage Talk, we spend a lot of time deep-diving into IndyCar's continued problems with marketing. A story broke recently about CEO Mark Miles' comments about Mexico City as a viable race location and wanting to visit "somewhere new". If you look at the list of tracks that IndyCar has visited but currently doesn't, that list is rather small. We look into some of the tracks they've visited previously and why they don't visit there anymore. Everything from attendance/marketing issues to driver and fan safety. The big news out of Formula 1 is the worst-kept rumor in recent weeks. Adrian Newey has a new gig and it's not at Ferrari. We discuss his role and the future of Lance Stroll at Aston Martin. Finally, we dive off topic as we remember the late great James Earl Jones who passed away earlier this week at the age of 93. We dive off into a Star Trek discussion as well (hence the Live Long and Prosper). --------- Wednesday Night Dash airs most Wednesdays at 10 pm ET. The Xfinity Series portion of the schedule is back now! Indy Racing World Series! Races air LIVE on Tuesdays at 10 pm ET on Stadium Scene TV! We can still pro-rate you into the series, but you have to register today! Follow F-R Racing:

03 Jun 2022 | The Pilot, Indy 500 Review, and iRacing Wednesday Night Dash Update | 00:17:20
Welcome to the pilot episode of F-R Racing's Garage Talk! F-R Racing co-founders D.J. Fluck and Erik Richardson give you a brief recap of the world of racing (typically F1, NASCAR, and IndyCar) followed by an iRacing update with our racing series Wednesday Night Dash. In today's episode, we introduce F-R Racing and the show along with discussing Erik's recent trip to the Indy 500, which is the largest sporting event held since the start of the pandemic. The estimated attendance was around 350,000 and Erik gives his perspective of being back in the stands. In the second half of the show we discuss iRacing and specifically our series Wednesday Night Dash. For round one of the season, we had some controversy caused by what appears to be a glitch in iRacing preventing the wave around of a lapped car during our competition caution. Erik pulls up the replay on the video and talks through the issue.
