- "they all want to try now";  

- "People used to say: ‘We are Muslim, we are Asian, we can’t make it in boxing. We’re not going to be picked.’ It’s an excuse that all Asians use – that we’re never going to be picked.";

- "Look at football, for example. There are no Asian footballers [in Britain] but guess what they all say? ‘We won’t get picked because we’re Asian.’ I think that’s a f***ing load of bulls***, really. It’s a load of b****cks. Asians, when we can’t to a certain extent, give up. We don’t have it in us.";

- "It’s curries. It’s not the right diet to be a champion. If you put us against a lot of English fighters their diet is a lot better. They’re stronger than us."  

We discuss whether Asian's are dedicated enough to reach the pinnacle of sport or if we blame factors such as racism too easily.

The most bizarre story of the weekend is of the rift between the Pogba brothers. Mathias Pogba, brother of Paul Pogba released videos claiming to reveal "explosive" details about his brother and agent Pimenta which he feels the world, French teammates, and sponsors should be aware of. At the same time Pogba released a statement which reads:  "The videos published on Saturday night are unfortunately no surprise. They are in addition to threats and extortion attempts by an organised gang against Paul Pogba. The competent bodies in Italy and France were informed a month ago and there will be no further comments in relation to the ongoing investigation."

Many Asians and Africans have claimed particular diamonds that were taken from their original homelands should be returned (The Kohinoor, The Great Star of Africa / Cullinan I). Even within the majority population of the UK feelings have been mixed - many loved the recent Queen Elizabeth II dearly, many moved on much quicker. Scottish GPs sent an open letter via The Times to Caroline Lamb, chief executive of NHS Scotland, asking for meat to be banned from hospital menus in a bid to improve patient health. The letter, signed by four doctors and an NHS consultant, claimed that serving red and processed meat to hospital patients was like “distributing cigarettes in the pulmonary-care unit”. The letter called on NHS Scotland to replace meat, eggs and dairy products in hospitals with “vibrant vegan foods”, to protect the health of Scottish people and the planet.

We take a look at this proposal and discuss the pros and cons nutritionally, economically, environmentally and also morally.

Clause 9 of the Nationality and Borders Bill has recently passed through the House of Commons and is on its way to becoming law if passed by the House of Lords. Six million of the UK's population is of an ethnic minority background and/or has dual nationality.   

Clause 9 gives the government the right to deprive British people of their citizenship without informing them first. Clause 9 can be invoked if its 1) in the interests of national security 2) in the interests of the relationship between the UK and another country 3) otherwise in the public interest - this is left to the discretion of the Home Secetary.
