Kathy Figueroa is a Canadian poet, photographer, writer, and book publisher. Folks in and around the northern part of Hastings County have seen her articles and photographs in the Bancroft newspapers since 2004. In May, 2006, The Bancroft Times published her poem, SPRINGTIME IN PAUDASH. The resulting positive response prompted her to continue sharing her often humorous verse and, to date, her poems have appeared in The Bancroft Times and/or Bancroft This Week newspapers on close to 150 occasions.

Being a relatively new poet trying to do everything I can to improve my craft I started to listen to poem-a-day podcasts in the car, at home and on my walks. Paul Vermeersch is a poet, multimedia artist, creative writing professor, and literary editor. He is the author of several poetry collections, including The Reinvention of the Human Hand, a finalist for the 2011 Trillium Book Award, and most recently, Shared Universe: New and Selected Poems 1995-2020. 

He holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Guelph for which he received the Governor General's Gold Medal. He teaches in the Honours Bachelor of Creative Writing & Publishing program at Sheridan College where he is the editor-in-chief of The Ampersand Review of Writing & Publishing. He is also the senior editor of Wolsak and Wynn Publishers where he created the poetry and fiction imprint Buckrider Books. He lives in Toronto.

Daniel G Scott, has just released Travels with Athóma (Aeolus House) and has previously published Aftertime (2019) and Voicing Suicide (2020), an anthology of suicide poems he edited, as well as [klee-shays] undone, volume one (2020). His other publications include four books of poetry, three chapbooks and individual poems in journals, anthologies and chapbooks as well as numerous academic publications. In 1984, he won a one-act playwriting competition in New Brunswick. He is past Artistic Director of Planet Earth Poetry and producer for Poets Caravan, and can say poetry has saved his life more than once.

Bob MacKenzie was born in New Westminster B.C. Much of his childhood and youth were spent walking in the woods and along the shores of Alberta and B.C. from our southern border as far north as the Cariboo. He now lives and writes in Kingston, where he enjoys daily walks along wooded paths and on the shores of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River.

Bob MacKenzie’s poetry has appeared in more than 400 journals across North America and as far away as Australia, India, Italy, and Greece. He has published 19 volumes of poetry and prose fiction, including "unbroken" (Cyberwit.net, 2022), "Footsteps in the garden" (Cyberwit.net, 2021), “somewhere still in wind the tree is bending” (Silver Bow Publishing, 2018), “On Edge” (Dark Matter Press, 2012), and “The Little Song” (Brandstead Press, 1975). His poems have appeared in numerous anthologies and have been translated into Arabic, into Greek for an anthology widely distributed in Greece, and into Farsi for two Persian language anthologies published in the United States.

Bob's received numerous local and international awards for his writing as well as an Ontario Arts Council grant for literature, a Canada Council Grant for performance, and a Fellowship to participate in the Summer Literary Seminars in Tbilisi, Georgia.

With the ensemble Poem de Terre, for eighteen years Bob's poetry has been spoken and sung live with original music and the group has released six albums.

Pamela Mosher is a poet and short fiction writer who grew up in Scotch Village, Nova Scotia. Much of her writing draws on her experience living in a rural community. Pamela has a degree in Literature and a certificate in technical writing. After living in Halifax for half a dozen years, she moved to Ottawa, where she now lives with her wife and two young children.

Pamela has won Contemporary Verse 2's Young Buck Poetry Prize and been a finalist for the Ralph Gustafson Prize for Poetry and The Writers' Union of Canada Short Prose Competition for Developing Writers. Her work is can also be found in Best Canadian Poetry 2021.

Mary Lee Bragg spent her childhood in rural southern Alberta and was educated in Calgary. She now lives in Ottawa, where she had a career in the public service focussing on official languages. Victor Enns was born in Winnipeg in 1955 and raised in southern Manitoba. He graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1979 with a History/English major including the advanced creative writing workshop with Robert Kroetsch which led to the publication of Jimmy Bang Poems (Turnstone 1979).

A founding Board member of the Manitoba Writer’s Guild, he was the Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Writers Guild from 1982 – 1988 and founder of Windscript magazine featuring the literary and visual art of Saskatchewan high school students. Correct in this Culture (5th House) was published in 1985. He spent the next 20 years in arts administration, including 4 years as the Executive Director of the Manitoba Arts Council, while raising a family. He founded Rhubarb magazine in 1998, returning as executive editor 2012-2015. Afghanistan Confessions, poems in the voices of Canadian soldiers was published by Hagios Press in 2014, and boy in 2012. Frances Boyle is a writer of fiction and poetry living in Ottawa, Ontario on the  traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabeg people. Susan is the author of seven books of poetry from Signal Editions of Véhicule Press: Complicity (1983, o.p.), The Power to Move (1986, o.p.), Henry Moore’s Sheep and Other Poems (1990), Hide & Seek (1995), Running in Prospect Cemetery: New & Selected Poems (2004), The Smooth Yarrow (2012), and What We Carry (2019). Her next collection of poetry, Cathedral/Grove, is due out in 2023.

Susan has received Canada Council, Ontario Arts Council, and Toronto Arts Council Awards in poetry, fiction, and non-fiction, and published poetry, short stories, essays and book reviews in many periodicals including Arc, Brick, Canadian Literature, Essays in Canadian Writing, The Fiddlehead, Grain, The Journal of Canadian Poetry, The New Quarterly, Prairie Fire, and Maisonneuve. Her work has been widely anthologized and some of her poetry has been translated into French.

She attended art school at Central Tech in Toronto from 2015-2019. The background image for this website is a large acrylic painting called “Glen Huron.” Here are a other few pieces in different media; there is a new section to this website titled “Art” if you want to see more. Making art, as with writing, she loves to observe things minutely. There are two things Susan particularly likes about the visual arts, however: they use the whole body, and they are quiet.

Rhea Tregebov is the author of fiction, poetry and children’s picture books. Her second novel, Rue des Rosiers, released in May 2019, was short-listed for the BC and Yukon Book Prizes Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize and won the Western Canada Jewish Book Awards Nancy Richler Memorial Prize for Fiction. Her first novel, The Knife Sharpener’s Bell (2009), a Globe and Mail Jim Bartley Top 5 book, won the J.I. Segal Award and was shortlisted for the Kobzar Award. Tregebov is also the author of seven critically acclaimed books of poetry, most recently All Souls’ (Véhicule Press 2012). Her poems have earned the Pat Lowther Award, Prairie Schooner Readers’ Choice Award, and the Malahat Review Long Poem Award. She has published five popular children’s picture books, among them the Sasha series, illustrated by Hélène Desputeaux, creator of the Caillou television series. Tregebov has edited numerous anthologies, including Arguing with the Storm, an anthology of stories by women writers which she co-translated from the Yiddish. She is currently working on an eighth collection of poetry.

She was born and raised in Karachi and is currently a settler on the unceded territory of the Anishnabek, the Haudenosaunee, the Huron-Wendat and Petun First Nations, the Seneca, and most recently the Mississaugas of the Credit River (Mississauga).

She holds a BA in English from Carleton University and an MA in English at the University of Waterloo.

Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, nature and magic and the wilderness have always influenced and inspired the themes, concepts, and settings of my writing. Because of the unique status of British Columbia being Unceded Indigenous Territory, and the immense diversity and presence of Indigenous cultures and communities in everyday life, understanding the intersecting voices of my settler and Red River Métis backgrounds are elements I explore throughout my poetry, fiction, and nonfiction.

I’ve been a founding member and editor for two literary magazines—The NPODW (no longer active) and HELD Magazine. I’m a graduate of SFU’s The Writer’s Studio; and hold an MFA in Creative Writing from The University of Guelph. I’ve published fiction in TAR Magazine, nonfiction in Adbusters, and poetry in The Capilano Review.

Conyer Clayton is a writer, musician, editor, and arts educator living on unceded Algonquin Anishinaabe land. Ryanne Kap is a Chinese-Canadian writer and academic from Strathroy, Ontario. Her work has been featured in Grain, carte blanche, long con, and elsewhere. Her short story “Heat” won first place in Grain’s 2020 Short Grain contest, was nominated by Grain for the 2020 Journey Prize, and was selected as a notable pick in the 2021 edition of Best Canadian Short Stories. Her debut chapbook, “goodbye, already,” was published by Frog Hollow Press in 2021. Phillip Crymble is a physically disabled poet from Belfast now living in Fredericton, New Brunswick. A poetry editor at The Fiddlehead and a PhD candidate at UNB, he received his MFA from the University of Michigan and has new poems forthcoming The Walrus, The London Magazine, The Irish Times, and elsewhere. Born in the Mekong Delta, Hoa Nguyen was raised and educated in the United States and has lived in Canada since 2011. Hoa has had the privilege to work and teach all over the United States and Canada and is the author of several books including As Long As Trees Last, Red Juice: Poems 1998-2008, and Violet Energy Ingots which received a 2017 Griffin Prize nomination. Adam Sol was born in New York, and lived in East Brunswick, New Jersey for a few years, but he thinks of New Fairfield, Connecticut, as where he really grew up.

Adam went to Tufts University for undergrad, which included a year at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. It happened to be the 1989-1990 school year, which was pretty momentous for a few reasons. He borrowed a mallet that spring and got my own little chunk of the Berlin Wall, though it doesn’t look any different from a normal piece of painted cement.

After some wandering, Adam went to Bloomington, Indiana, to get an MFA in Creative Writing under the supervision of David Wojahn, Roger Mitchell, and Yusef Komunyakaa. Took a year off after that, got married, and moved to Cincinnati, where the University of Cincinnati beckoned. There he got a PhD in American Literature. His dissertation was on the “invention of ethnicity” in the novels of some Jewish writers from the early part of the 20th century.

While Adam was finishing his coursework for the PhD, his wife Yael Splansky was finishing her rabbinic ordination at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. They moved to Toronto for her first gig at Holy Blossom Temple, and have been there ever since. Read More

Harry Posner is a self-published and published poet, author, and editor, whose love of writing evolved in a natural progression from short stories to children’s picture books, to poetry, novels, and spoken word performance. He is currently a member of the Words Aloud Poetry Collective, as well as the Headwaters Writers Guild, Writers Ink Alton, an associate member of the League of Canadian Poets and a member of the Writers Union of Canada. As well as teaching creative writing in the area of Woodville, Nova Scotia, he has authored three novels, a book of poetry, and a workbook for developing writers. Harry released a collection of flash fiction entitled LITTLE EXITS early in 2015 and also released his first audio poetry CD in November of 2015. He released his novel AUROCH UNBOUND in 2017, and... he was named first Poet Laureate of Dufferin County in June 2017! In 2019 his first novella PEGGY LEE'S DELICIOUS LIPS won the Ken Klonsky novella award, and was published by Quattro Books. Harry has just published a book of spoken word poetry, BLUE IS BIGGER THAN BROWN, and is soon to release MALWARE, a novella trilogy consisting of Malware, Dux Dispar, and Here is Betty. Watch for it.

Maureen Hynes’s first book of poetry, Rough Skin, published by Wolsak and Wynn (Toronto, Ont), won the League of Canadian Poets’ Gerald Lampert Award for best first book of poetry by a Canadian. Her second collection, Harm’s Way, was published by Brick Books (London, Ont), followed by Marrow, Willow in 2011 from Pedlar Press, and, also from Pedlar Press, her fourth book of poetry, The Poison Colour, in fall, 2015. In 2016, The Poison Colour was a finalist for two national poetry awards given out by the League of Canadian Poets:  the Pat Lowther Award and the Raymond Souster Award.

A former professor of environmental studies at the University of Waterloo, she has worked with colleagues in Indonesia, India and Northern Canada and with students from many places around the world. She walked the Camino Santiago in 2018 and plans to walk the Bruce Trail which passes close to her home, from start to finish in 2022. Vilma Blenman is a Jamaican-Canadian poet, a registered psychotherapist, a teacher and a mother of two millennials. She considers her poems dispatches from the diaspora where she’s both observer and participant on issues of race, identity formation, Black history and the wonder of landscapes that speak to the soul. Vilma published her chapbook, "First Flight" in 2013 and since then had poems and prose pieces in the Canadian best seller anthology series, “Hot Apple Cider,” published by That’s Life! Communications. She was recently published in "Ekstasis" and is a contributing poet to the Toronto Crossings Arts Exhibition, 2022. A two-time winner of the WCDR (Writers Community of Durham Region) Slam Poetry Competition, Vilma also taught at-risk youth to write and perform poetry for an annual community Poetry Café at a local high school where she also co-edited two publications of student-writing. She has performed at Black History month venues and fund-raiser events in the Greater Toronto Area and is a regular poet on the podium at her local church. This spring she led workshops with teens on the power of poetry to process grief and loss. Vilma lives with her family in Pickering, Ontario.

Susan McCaslin is the author of fifteen volumes of poetry and nine chapbooks. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of British Columbia in 1984 and taught at Douglas College in B.C. in the English and Creative Writing Departments from 1984-2007. Most recently, Susan has written a book of creative non-fiction with collaborator J.S. Porter titled Superabundantly Alive: Thomas Merton’s Dance with the Feminine (Wood Lake, 2018). Her most recent volume of poetry is Into the Open: Poems New and Selected (Inanna Press, 2017). She has also written a memoir, Into the Mystic: My Years with Olga (Inanna Press, 2014). Her poetry book Demeter Goes Skydiving (The University of Alberta Press, 2012) was short-listed for the BC Book Prize (Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize) and the first-place winner of the Alberta Book Publishing Award (Robert Kroetsch Poetry Book Award) in 2012. Vironika Tugaleva (aka Vironika Wilde) is a poet, feminist, award-winning author, nomad, queer, cat fanatic, immigrant, survivor, tree hugger, and activist. She was born in Donetsk, Ukraine and has Russian indigenous (Tatar and Nagaybak) roots. She loves getting lost, looking at the stars, dancing, and eating pickles (sometimes, all at once).

In 2020, Vironika released her debut poetry book, Love and Gaslight, which is not only a collection of poems but also a story. It’s about a sexual assault survivor reclaiming her body, an immigrant climbing into the home-sized hole in her heart, an adult comforting her inner child, and a woman questioning the social conditioning that governs her freedom. Love and Gaslight is raw, political, and transgressive. It’s edgy, feminist, and relevant. Most importantly, it’s honest. You will feel it. Whether it makes you feel sad, glad, or attacked, it will also make you feel brave enough to speak your truth.

Milton James Rhode Acorn (March 30, 1923 – August 20, 1986), nicknamed The People's Poet by his peers, was a Canadian poet, writer, and playwright.

He was born in Prince Edward Island, and grew up in Charlottetown. He joined the armed forces during World War II at the age of eighteen.

During World War II, on a trans-Atlantic crossing, Acorn suffered a wound from depth charges. The wound was severe enough for him to receive a disability pension from Veterans Affairs for most of his life. He returned to Prince Edward Island and moved to Montreal, Quebec in 1956 and was for a time a member of the Labor-Progressive Party. He spent several years living at the Hotel Waverly in Toronto, Ontario.

In Montreal, he published some of his early poems in the political magazine, New Frontiers. In 1956 he self-published a mimeographed chapbook, In Love and Anger, his first collection of poems. In the 1950s some of his poetry was published in the magazine Canadian Forum.

He was for a short time married to poet Gwendolyn MacEwen.

In the mid-1960s, he moved to Vancouver and joined the League for Socialist Action. In 1967, Acorn helped found the "underground" newspaper The Georgia Straight in Vancouver, BC. In 1969 he published his poetry collection I've Tasted My Blood.

Acorn was awarded the Canadian Poets Award in 1970 and the Governor General's Award in 1976 for his collection of poems, The Island Means Minago. In 1977, Acorn introduced the Jackpine sonnet, a form designed to be as irregular and spikey (and Canadian) as a jack pine tree, but with internal structure and integrity. Without a fixed number of lines and with varied line lengths, the Jackpine sonnet depends on interweaving internal rhymes, assonance and occasional end-rhymes.

In July 1986, he suffered a heart attack and was admitted to the hospital. Acorn died in his home town of Charlottetown on August 20, 1986, due to complications associated with his heart condition and diabetes. According to fellow poet and friend Jim Deahl, he had "lost his will to live after the death of a younger sister."

Norma Kerby is a poet and writer based in Terrace in Northwestern British Columbia. Her writing reflects her active participation in environmental issues and preservation of history in this region. She has had poetry published in a number of literary journals (including Prism International, Room, Dreamland, Prairie Journal, and filling Station) and anthologies (including North Coast Collected, The Language of Trees, The Rivers Speak, Skunk Cabbage, Snow Feathers, Water Worn, Shadows and Light, Seed Dreams, Somewhere My Love, The Golden Oracle, Heartwood, Another Dysfunctional Cancer Poem, Tending the Fire, and Leap Anthologies), as well as her chapbood, Shores of Haida Gwaii (Big Pond Rumours Press). She is a member of the poetry writing collective, Writers North of 54, and an associate member of the League of Canadian Poets. She has written many articles for the print and online magazine, NORTHWORD (www.northword.ca) and has actively participated in the writing and production of a number of historical publications and storyboards through the Terrace Regional Historical Society (e.g. "Cedar Poles and Iron Peevees, Pole Logging in the Kitsumkalum Valley"). In addition, through environmental and planning consulting work, she has authored several reports of both technical and public interest (i.e. www.kitsault.com - book about the ghost town of Kitsault, and www.rdks.bc.ca - Greater Terrace Agricultural Area Plan). Norma is a dedicated resident of the northwest corner of British Columbia and writes to portray the special attributes of the people and landscapes which characterize this unique corner of Canada. Norma was the Northern Area Representative for the Federation of BC Writers for two years (2016 to 2018), and organized, publicized, and presented readings, writing events, and writing workshops throughout northern British Columbia.

Klara du Plessis is a South African-Canadian poet, who writes in both English and Afrikaans. Her debut poetry collection Ekke won the Pat Lowther Award,[2] and was shortlisted for the Gerald Lampert Award,[3] in 2019. Her second collection, Hell Light Flesh, was released in 2020.

Du Plessis was born in Montreal, but raised predominantly in Bloemfontein, South Africa. She is currently a graduate student at Montreal's Concordia University. Since 2018, she has been developing, Deep Curation, a practice of poetry reading organization that places poets' works in deliberate thematic and conceptual dialogue in performance.

Liz Howard’s debut collection Infinite Citizen of the Shaking Tent won the 2016 Griffin Poetry Prize, was shortlisted for the 2015 Governor General’s Award for poetry, and was named a Globe and Mail top 100 book. A National Magazine Award finalist, her recent work has appeared in Canadian Literature, Literary Review of Canada, Room Magazine and Best Canadian Poetry 2021. Her second collection, Letters in a Bruised Cosmos, was published by McClelland & Stewart in June 2021. Howard received an Honours Bachelor of Science with High Distinction from the University of Toronto, and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph. She has completed creative writing and Indigenous arts residencies at McGill University, University of Calgary, UBC Okanagan, Douglas College, Sheridan College, and The Capilano Review. She is also an adjunct professor and lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Toronto and serves on the editorial board for Buckrider Books, an imprint of Wolsak & Wynn. She is of mixed settler and Anishinaabe heritage. Born and raised on Treaty 9 territory in Northern Ontario, she currently lives in Toronto.

Canadian writer Nancy Holmes has published six collections of poetry, most recently Arborophobia (University of Alberta Press). She is the editor of Open Wide a Wilderness: Canadian Nature Poems.  She is Associate Professor in Creative Writing at The University of British Columbia in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. With Denise Kenney, she established the Eco Art Incubator, an initiative which supports ecological art in the Okanagan Valley and with Dr. Cameron Cartiere she established an award-winning community-based art project about native pollinators called Border Free Bees. Nancy won the 2015 Robert Kroetsch National Teaching Award in Creative Writing for her innovative student project, Dig Your Neighbourhood, and The Malahat Review’s Constance Rooke Creative Non-Fiction award in 2017.

Doris Fiszer is a poet from Ottawa, Canada. Her debut collection Locked in Different Alphabets (Silver Bow Publishing) was nominated for the 2021 Archibald Lampman Award. She has two published chapbooks, The Binders and Sasanka (Wild Flower). Awards include the 2017 John Newlove Award and Tree Press’s 2016 Chapbook Award for The Binders, also a nominee for the bpNichol Award.

"Zen Garden" won the 2017 John Newlove award. This poem was written for Doris's friends Colleen and David. Their beautiful Garden of Hope in Maitland inspired her poem. "Zen garden" was initially published by Bywords Publication in 2018 in my chapbook, Sasanka, (Wildflower). It is also included in Locked in Different Alphabets.

In 1989 Joyce immigrated with family from Ireland to North Vancouver and continued her social work career. She joined the North Shore Writers’ Association becoming vice-President and co-founder of “Dare to be Heard” literary salon. She later also joined the Canadian Authors Association Vancouver board and The Ontario Poetry Society. Joyce has been a trustee, judge and reviewer for national book awards and a contributing writer to Arts Alive magazine. Her words are etched into glass at the Lynn Valley library. Her writing has been published in over thirty group anthologies, winning both prose and poetry awards.

Her first poetry book “Fragments: A Poetry Mosaic” was published in 2021. Twelve winning poems are included in this collection. In the Fall this book will be included in the North Shore Libraries local authors collection. It is included in the CAA member book. A Review of this poetry collection is in the “Canadian Poetry Review”.

On Sunday November 6th from 2-4pm there will be a book launch at the University Women’s Club at at Hycroft. ( www.uwcvancouver.ca ) As a visual artist Joyce is a member of the North Shore Artists Guild, the International Watercolour Society, Watercolour Studio North Shore and the Hycroft painters. Her work was used to illustrate two anthologies. She exhibits locally and internationally.

Welcome to Eh Poetry Podcast's first episode. 

In today's episode, I read "In the Boxcar of Surrey around Guildford Castle." by Kevin Spenst. Kevin is a Pushcart Poetry nominee, is the author of Ignite, Jabbering with Bing Bong, and Hearts Amok: a Memoir in Verse (all with Anvil Press), and over a dozen chapbooks including Surrey Sonnets (JackPine Press), Upend (Frog Hollow Press) and a holm with the Alfred Gustav Press coming out at the end of 2022. In 2019, he was writer-in-residence at the Joy Kogawa House. His work has won the Lush Triumphant Award for Poetry, been nominated for both the Alfred G. Bailey Prize and the Robert Kroetsch Award for Innovative Poetry, and has appeared in dozens of publications including Event, the Malahat Review, Prairie Fire, CV2, the Rusty Toque, Lemon Hound, Poetry is Dead, and the anthologies Best Canadian Poetry 2019, Best Canadian Poetry 2020 and Sweet Water: Poems for the Watersheds. He co-organizes the Dead Poets Reading Series, writes a chapbook column in subTerrain magazine, is an occasional co-host with RC Weslowski on Wax Poetic on Co-op Radio, teaches Creative Writing at Vancouver Community College and is the 2022 Poetry Mentor at SFU’s Writers Studio. He lives in Vancouver on unceded Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh territory.

Patrick Friesen, a former resident of the original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation (Steinbach and Winnipeg) now lives on the unceded territory of the Lekwungen people (Victoria, B.C.). He has published numerous books of poetry and has written several stage and radio plays. Friesen has also collaborated with choreographers, dancers, musicians and composers. He tours on a regular basis, giving readings and workshops all over the country. His book, Blasphemer’s Wheel, was awarded Manitoba Book of the Year Prize in 1996; A Broken Bowl, was a finalist for the 1997 Governor-General’s Award; and Patrick was awarded the ReLit Award for Poetry in 2012 for jumping in the asylum.

Josie Di Sciascio-Andrews has written six collections of poetry:  "The Whispers of Stones", "Sea Glass", "The Red Accordion", "Letters from the Singularity", "A Jar of Fireflies" and "Sunrise Over Lake Ontario." In 2019 her poem "Mosque" was shortlisted for The Eden Mills Literary Festival Poetry Prize and for The Henry Drummond Spring Pulse Poetry Contest. Josie is the author of two non-fiction books: "How The Italians Created Canada" and "In the Name of Hockey." In 2020 she will be teaching poetry workshops at Oakville Galleries in Gairloch Gardens. Josie  lives, teaches and writes in Oakville Ontario, Canada.

Danny Peart was born in Port Dalhousie, Ontario. After a few years at Lakeport High School, he disappeared for a while to Kingston, Ontario. He was either at university there or in the penitentiary. He won't specify.

He now lives in Vancouver, married to Janette Lindley and they have two sons, Max and Nick. He has worked as a Globe and Mail paperboy, a Bartender, a farm equipment Parts Manager and a Personal Trainer for the past 27 years. (His clients eagerly await his Confessions of a Personal Trainer.) He has studied writing with Gloria Sawai, Zsuzsi Gartner, Edna Alford, Seán Virgo, Carolyn Smart, Don McKay and Ernest Hemingway. Aislinn Hunter was his exceptional advisor for the poems in Ruined By Love.

Danny is a member of the League of Canadian Poets.

In 2016 he published Stark Naked in a Laundromat - 10 stories and 10 poems about growing up in Port Dalhousie, Ontario (Nicely introduced by his brother Neil Peart).

In December of 2017 he published a new collections of poems, titled Another Mountain to Climb.

"Wandering" is from Danny's new collection “Not Quite So Handsome” that will be added to his website on July 30th.

Ronna Bloom is the author of six books of poetry. She is a registered psychotherapist (CRPO inactive). Ronna developed the first Poet in Residence programme at Mount Sinai Hospital/Sinai Health which ran from 2012-2019. Her Spontaneous Poetry Booths and RX for Poetry have appeared in hospital waiting rooms, bookstores, fundraisers and arts events in Canada, The UK and Italy. Ronna's work has been broadcast on the CBC, recorded by the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, translated into Bangla and Chinese, and shortlisted for several Canadian literary awards. She has performed with Juno award-winning musician Jayme Stone. In a collaboration with PLANT Architects, her poem “The City” was painted 30 meters long on King Street in Toronto for the summer of 2018. In 2022, her chapbook, Who is your mercy contact? was published by Espresso-Chapbooks.

A Possible Trust: The Poetry of Ronna Bloom, selected with an introduction by Phil Hall will be published by Wilfred Laurier University Press in 2023.

The poem "Is It Safe?" was first published in Literary Review of Canada and then again on Best Canadian Poetry 2021  by Biblioasis Press.

Susan J. Atkinson was born and raised in Northern England. After 15 years working in the Toronto Film Industry, she now makes her home in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where she and her film maker husband have raised their four daughters. Her poetry has appeared in such journals as Arc Magazine, The Antigonish Review, The Dalhousie Review, Grain Magazine, The New Quarterly, The Queen’s Quarterly and Room Magazine.

She has been shortlisted, been a finalist and has won a number of contests including first prize in The Carleton University Literary Contest, The National Capital Canadian Authors Annual Contest and a suite from The Marta Poems was shortlisted for Exile’s Gwendolyn MacKewan Award.

Susan also writes poetry and stories for children and is the author of 4 picture books published by Little Witch Press (www.littlewitchpress.com)

Kate Cayley is a fiction writer, playwright, and poet. She has written a short story collection, How You Were Born, two collections of poetry, When This World Comes to an End and Other Houses, a young adult novel, The Hangman in the Mirror, and a number of plays, both traditional and experimental.  She has won the Trillium Book Award, the Mitchell Prize for Poetry, the Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction, an O. Henry Short Story Prize, and a Chalmers Fellowship, and been a finalist for the Governor General’s Award for Fiction, the K. M. Hunter Award, and the Toronto Arts Foundation Emerging Artist Award, and long-listed for the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Prize and the CBC Prize in both poetry and fiction. She lives in Toronto with her wife and their three children. Her second short story collection, Householders, is published by Biblioasis. Read more about Kate, here.
