At the end of Wondercon, a weeklong ride through hell, Charlie lost both Karl and Anders to the Reactor explosion. In the following months she searched far and wide for a way to get them back and ended up with a coin that would get her in to the underworld, but with no way to find the entrance she came back home and ended up settling down with Sarah right outside of Mybern. Things would remain relatively calm until one day in 2040 when a young woman named Alice with an unknown connection to Sarah and advanced cybernetics showed up at their doorstep and promptly got adopted by the two. This led to Charlie meeting Andrew Starr, a cowboy hero known as Revenant who had died and come back to life as part of a family curse and was able to find an entrance to the Underworld. It is now April 22nd, 2041: Though she has no idea where Karl is, Charlie knows Anders is in the underworld and is ready to go and get him back This is Dadquest.

Then in 2024 we got shut down, and Anders was cut loose with a ‘good luck’ and not much else. He found his way to Mybern South Carolina where he, Charlotte Ross, and Karl Inder met up and eventually participated in Wondercon. Reports gathered by CAPE resources shortly after wondercon points to Anders being the founder of Hastur’s cult as well as the herald of Hastur. We don’t know exactly what happened at the top of Bright Tower, but the reactor detonated and Anders died in the blast. A brief catch up of our story in case you want to jump in later Spoilers for Cornfield Cryptids Previously in Cornfield Cryptids, we picked up after the murder of Roger Clean 29 years later when the Kinder Center Heroes had largely retired and a new generation of heroes was getting ready to make their way in the world. Alice, Thomas, Cheats, and Kayl tracked down a serial burglar only to find that it was a man named Gary Grant who had been turned into a Missouri Monster by some malevolent force. Rescuing him and giving him a place to stay with Alice’s mentor, White Rabbit, the gang all went to the neighborhood cookout put on by Kayl’s dad, Kyle Redni. Fights were had, noses were kissed, and the gang eventually all got back together to watch some movies and bond. Not all was well however, Alice got home and realized her dads had been kidnapped! Calling her friends over, the young heroes headed to Spriggan Labs where Alice realized her dad, Dusty Starr, was none other than the thought dead hero, Smiles Per Hour. The teens teamed up with Alice’s other dad, Radford Starr, to fight off security and find Dusty. With quick thinking and back up from the adults, they were able to save Dusty’s life. Though as our heroes are about to learn, they may have survived this crisis but that nightmare has just begun… | |||
