Joku & Rosa discuss 'A Complete Unknown' a 2024 American biographical musical drama film directed by James Mangold, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jay Cocks, about American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. Based on the 2015 book Dylan Goes Electric! by Elijah Wald, the film portrays Dylan through his earliest folk music success until the momentous controversy over his use of electric instruments at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. We also discuss 'Memoir of a Snail' a 2024 Australian adult stop-motion animated tragicomedy film written, produced and directed by Adam Elliot. It stars the voices of Sarah Snook, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Eric Bana, Magda Szubanski, Dominique Pinon, Tony Armstrong, Paul Capsis, Nick Cave, and Jacki Weaver. Lastly, we review 'The Wages of Fear' a 1953 thriller film directed and co-written by Henri-Georges Clouzot, and starring Yves Montand, Charles Vanel, Peter van Eyck and Véra Clouzot. The film centres on a group of four down-on-their-luck European men who are hired by an American oil company to drive two trucks over mountain dirt roads, loaded with nitroglycerin needed to extinguish an oil well fire.

Chandor from a screenplay by Richard Wenk, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the title role, alongside Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, Christopher Abbott, and Russell Crowe. We also review and discuss 'Workingman's Death' a 2005 Austrian-German documentary film written and directed by Michael Glawogger. It premiered at the 2005 Venice Film Festival. The film deals with the extremes to which workers go to earn a living in several countries around the world. The film is composed of six chapters.

The film stars Nicole Kidman as a high-powered CEO who puts her career and family on the line when she begins an affair with a much younger intern. Sophie Wilde and Antonio Banderas also star. They also discuss @omalleyrock 's 'Rap World' a 2024 American mockumentary film written and directed by Conner O'Malley and Danny Scharar. Finally, we touch on 'Triumph of the Will' a 1935 German Nazi propaganda film directed, produced, edited and co-written by Leni Riefenstahl. Adolf Hitler commissioned the film and served as an unofficial executive producer; his name appears in the opening titles. It chronicles the 1934 Nazi Party Congress in Nuremberg, which was attended by more than 700,000 Nazi supporters.

Joku & Rosa review 'Wolf Man', a 2025 American horror film directed and co-written by Leigh Whannell. A reboot of The Wolf Man franchise, the film stars Christopher Abbott, Julia Garner, and Sam Jaeger. The plot follows a family man seeking to protect his wife and daughter from a werewolf, only to become infected and slowly transform into the creature. Jason Blum produces alongside his Blumhouse Productions banner. We then discuss 'I'm Still Here' (Ainda Estou Aqui), a 2024 political biographical drama film directed by Walter Salles from a screenplay by Murilo Hauser and Heitor Lorega, based on Marcelo Rubens Paiva's 2015 memoir of the same name. It stars Fernanda Torres and Fernanda Montenegro as Eunice Paiva, a mother and activist coping with the forced disappearance of her husband, the dissident politician Rubens Paiva (Selton Mello), during the military dictatorship in Brazil. Lastly, we talk 'Bulworth', a 1998 American political satire black comedy film co-written, co-produced, directed by, and starring Warren Beatty. It co-stars Halle Berry, Oliver Platt, Don Cheadle, Paul Sorvino, Jack Warden, and Isaiah Washington. The film follows the title character, California Senator Jay Billington Bulworth (Beatty), as he runs for re-election while trying to avoid a hired assassin.

It is the sixth Wallace & Gromit film, the first since A Matter of Loaf and Death, and the second feature-length film after The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Additionally we review 'A Real Pain' a 2024 buddy road comedy-drama film written and directed by Jesse Eisenberg. An international co-production between Poland and the United States, it stars Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin as mismatched Jewish American cousins who travel to Poland to honor their late grandmother. The cast also includes Will Sharpe, Jennifer Grey, Kurt Egyiawan, Liza Sadovy, and Daniel Oreskes. Lastly, we review 'All About My Mother' (Spanish: Todo sobre mi madre) is a 1999 comedy-drama film written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar, and starring Cecilia Roth, Marisa Paredes, Candela Peña, Antonia San Juan, Penélope Cruz, Rosa Maria Sardà, and Fernando Fernán Gómez.

Rosa and Joku review and analyze 'Queer' a 2024 romantic drama film directed by Luca Guadagnino, based on the novella by William S. Burroughs, set in 1950s Mexico City. It follows an American expatriate, played by Daniel Craig, who becomes infatuated with a younger man, exploring themes of desire and loneliness. We also review and analyze 'Balladonna of Sadness' a 1973 Japanese animated surrealist art film produced by the animation studio Mushi Production and distributed by Nippon Herald Films. It follows the story of Jeanne, a peasant woman who makes a faustian deal with the devil after she is assaulted by the local nobility on the night of her wedding day.

Sonny and Sal attempt a bank heist which quickly turns sour and escalates into a hostage situation and stand-off with the police. The film unofficially parodies characters from the Batman comics, and the main character is a transgender woman based on the Joker, played by Drew. The film also features Scott Aukerman, Tim Heidecker, Maria Bamford, David Liebe Hart, Robert Wuhl, and Bob Odenkirk in supporting roles. We also review 'Nosferatu' a 2024 American gothic horror film written and directed by Robert Eggers. It is a remake of F. W. Murnau's 1922 film Nosferatu, itself inspired by Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula. The film stars Bill Skarsgård as the vampire Nosferatu and Nicholas Hoult and Lily-Rose Depp as the married Hutter couple, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe in supporting roles. We also review and discuss 'Crash' a 1996 Canadian erotic thriller film written, produced and directed by David Cronenberg, based on J. G. Ballard's 1973 novel of the same name. Starring James Spader, Deborah Kara Unger, Elias Koteas, Holly Hunter and Rosanna Arquette, it follows a film producer who, after surviving a car crash, becomes involved with a group of symphorophiliacs who are aroused by car crashes and tries to rekindle his sexual relationship with his wife.

It stars Adrien Brody as a Hungarian-Jewish Holocaust survivor who immigrates to the United States, where he struggles to achieve the American Dream until a wealthy client changes his life. We also review 'Conclave', a 2024 political thriller film directed by Edward Berger, focusing on the secretive process of electing a new pope after the death of the previous one. The film features a cast including Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci, and it explores the intrigue and scandals among the cardinals involved in the election process. Lastly we review 'Hard Boiled', a 1992 Hong Kong action thriller film directed by John Woo from a screenplay by Gordon Chan and Barry Wong based on a story written by Woo. The film stars Chow Yun-fat, Tony Leung Chiu-wai, and Anthony Wong.
