Gordon has some candid thoughts for that thought.

Cubs REKAP Podcast (Season 1 Episode 3) - Will the Cubs regret NOT re-signing Kris Bryant?
00:32:44
On Episode 3, David Kaplan and Gordon Wittemyer discuss the latest at Cubs spring training, including the rotation. Will Kyle Hendricks be back earlier than anticipated after being ahead of schedule in Mesa? Although he will unlikely be ready for Opening Day, what can be expected of the former Game 7 starter if he can return to his old self?
The guys discuss the Cubs lack of ability to lock up their core after 2016, specifically Kris Bryant, who hit a long, towering HR against the Cubs while the guys were recording. Some think KB is due for a monster year. So, in the end, will the Cubs regret not re-signing the 2016 NL MVP? They debate that topic.
And, Mike Clevinger of the White Sox will not face discipline after MLB concluded their review of domestic and child abuse claims. The guys make sense of it, and use a former Cubs case to see if there is anything similar from that case.
Cubs REKAP Podcast (Season 1 Episode 4) - Who has impressed in spring training so far?
00:28:11
With the season less than 3 weeks away, David Kaplan & Gordon Wittenmyer discuss the few roster battles that remain at Cubs camp in Mesa. Plus, why they’ve flipped the script from previous podcasts and believe that pitcher Hayden Wesneski has earned a spot in the big league rotation.
The conversation pivots to how the Cubs got here, and by here, a team that had to tear it down again in order to build it back up to a contender. Gordon is adamant that in a market like Chicago and for what the Cubs spend, they should never be in that position. Instead, the pandemic brought on ‘biblical losses.’ Kap debates that the Cubs didn’t have a team good enough to win, hence here we are, the new look Cubs ready to start a new tradition. What follows is a fiery debate with plenty of passion!
REKAP Cubs Podcast Ep. 5 - REKAP Cubs Podcast Ep. 5 - Why the Brewers are the team the Cubs should worry about most in 2023!
00:36:30
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Todd Roziak joins #DavidKaplan & Gordon Wittenmyer to discuss why the Milwaukee Brewers are the team in the NL Central that the Cubs should most worry about in 2023! While Kap has been focused on the defending division champions St. Louis Cardinals, Gordon says that the Brewers have a chip on their shoulder, both as a team and within key individuals. Roziak agrees with Gordon with in depth analysis as to why.
Cubs REKAP Podcast (S1 - Ep6) Willson Contreras is better than ever…on defense! An STL preview
00:23:49
Lead St. Louis Post-Dispatch Cardinals writer Derrick Goold joins Kap and Gordon to discuss where the Cardinals fit into the 2023 NL Central division picture.
Defending champions, did St. Louis do enough to capitalize in the off-season and take the next step after an early exit in the postseason. All three debate whether or not they did after not adding a marquee starter.
Btw, why is Gordon shirtless?! Derrick questions it all.
And the impressions that former Cub Willson Contreras has made at Cardinals camp are eye opening…and Goold says Cubs fans aren’t going to be happy when they see how vastly improved his defense is.
A spirited conversation with the Cubs & Chicago’s biggest rival - the Cardinals and the city of St. Louis.
Cubs REKAP Podcast - ⚾ (Season 1 Ep 7) It's The Season Prediction Podcast
00:30:59
Kap & Gordon start things off discussing the big news prior to the regular season; the Cubs extended second baseman Nico Hoerner to a 3 yr,$35 million dollar extension, meaning he won’t be a free agent until age 29. What does it mean for the Cubs? For Hoerner? And how much does it matter for new shortstop Dansby Swanson to have that connection in place for the next three seasons?
Plus - who’s next❓ Is Ian Happ the next Chicago Cub that’s worthy and on the brink of an extension? The guys debate the topic....
And then, it’s on to 2023. It’s the season prediction podcast.
➡️ Which Cub will have a breakout season? ➡️ Which pitcher will lead the team in wins? ➡️ Who will lead the Cubs in home runs? ➡️ When will Matt Mervis be called up? ➡️ Will either Nico Hoerner or Dansby Swanson win a Gold Glove? Will both? ➡️ Will the Cubs be buyers or sellers at the deadline? ➡️ Who will be Cubs team MVP? ➡️ Who will be baseball’s MVP, not just NL/AL, but the entire league? ➡️ What will the Cubs record be? ➡️ Who will win the NL Central?
A spirited conversation and one we’ll certainly look back on at the end of the season!
REKAP Cubs Podcast - ⚾ (Season 1 - Episode 8) What to Make of the Chicago Cubs Opening Series Start.
00:27:32
The guys give their thoughts on the season opening series against the Milwaukee Brewers. David Kaplan and Gordon Wittenmyer say it was a little disappointing after an impressive win on Opening Day. The starting pitching outside of Marcus Stroman and Justin Steele needs to be better. Kap can’t get enough of this question: Should Cubs go after Shohei Ohtani? Shouldn’t every team? And one glaring and noticeable difference thus far in the early going, the pace of games has changed dramatically because of the pitch clock. Do you like it? The guys discuss.
REKAP Cubs Podcast - ⚾ (Season 1 - Episode 9) Could Shohei Ohtani Be A Real Possibility For The Cubs?!
00:23:16
David Kaplan and Gordon Wittenmyer discuss several topics beginning with the Cubs good start to the 2023 season, with strong showings against good teams like the Brewers, Rangers and Mariners. Kap says the team might be a surprise all season, while Gordon admits even he didn’t see this coming. Gordon adds that Dansby Swanson, the big free agent addition for the Cubs, had been better than advertised.
Marcus Stroman is another talking point, leaving Kap to question whether the Cubs would consider extending him sooner than later after a hot start and appearing as if he’s settled into the team’s top starter. Gordon throws water on the topic saying he believes that Stroman will exercise his opt out and the Cubs will move on without him.
Plus, how could the Cubs give Stroman the money if they’re going to be players for Shohei Ohtani? That’s right, Bob Nightengale reported it could be the case which has Kap out over his skis and Gordon even suggesting a bet after Kap has brought the topic up nearly every podcast to date.
REKAP Cubs Podcast - ⚾ (Season 1 - Episode 10) Why the 2023 Chicago Cubs Could Be For Real!
00:28:01
#DavidKaplan & #GordonWittenmyer are buying in, well, let’s be honest, Kap had long ago, but after a series win over the #Dodgers, even Gordon is tipping his cap to what the #Cubs have done to start the 2023 season. Gordon has the stats to back it up.
Most notably, the pair highlight the performance of #MarcusStroman & #JustinSteele in the rotation. They’ve been lights out, and with Steele, it goes way back to last year. The offense is for real, and #DansbySwanson appears to be the real deal after signing a mega deal in the offseason.
Prior to #HaydenWesneski’s dominant start against Oakland, the guys talked about him needing a start like that or he could be the odd man out when Kyle Hendricks returns.
Plus - the guys discuss #SeiyaSuzuki’s return to RF.
There’s reason for excitement about what’s going on on the Northside.
REKAP Cubs Podcast - ⚾ (Season 1 - Episode 11) Despite Success, How Do The Cubs Fix Bullpen Struggles?
00:26:23
Despite early season team success, the Chicago Cubs have bullpen issues, most notably at the back end. David Kaplan & Gordon Wittenmyer discuss if it’s fixable, and if not, who can they get to help?
Gordon suggests the Cubs look 8 miles south and target White Sox closer Liam Hendriks once he returns. That would send shockwaves through Chicago and wake up the rest of baseball.
Plus, the guys debate if the offense, which has scored double digit runs already as many times as they did all of last year, is sustainable for the remainder of 2023.
REKAP Cubs Podcast - ⚾ (Season 1 - Episode 12) The State of the Cubs One Month Into The Season
00:24:38
The Cubs had a tough weekend in Miami, but Kap and Gordon still took away some positives. The Cubs were in every game, Justin Steele looked good again, and Patrick Wisdom keeps hitting home runs.
The guys also go over their biggest takeaways from the Cubs first month of play. Both of them agree that the offense has been better than expected, but the bullpen hasn't been as good as expected. Kap wonders if Jed will actually look to add to the bullpen if the team keeps playing well. Aroldis Chapman will most likely be available again at this trade deadline. Will Jed want to give away the assets to aquire him?
Kap still wants to know when the Cubs will bring up Matt Mervis. Kap says, if he's ready, he should be here. Gordon thinks the Cubs have to at least be thinking about Mervis up. But he also knows the Cubs will take their time making that decision.
The guys also discuss the impact Yan Gomes has had on the team and whether the Cubs will struggle without him. On the other hand, Miguel Amaya finally gets the call to the bigs. How long will he be here?
The guys also discuss who the best pitcher in Chicago is right now. Is it Justin Steele? Is it Dylan Cease?
Finally, the guys discuss the Pirates and Cardinals and Kap decides to take a cheap shot at Aramis Ramirez.
REKAP Cubs Podcast - ⚾ (Season 1 - Episode 13) Matt Mervis: Debut, Fans & What It Means To Be A Chicago Cub
00:25:53
Cubs rookie phenom Matt Mervis joins Gordon Wittenmyer after a whirlwind week, making his big league debut at Wrigley Field, recording his first hit & RBI and doing it with a huge fan club of family, friends and ex high school and college teammates.
Mervis talks about his journey, how he always stayed on task and didn’t focus on the noise and excitement of Cubs fans craving for Mervis to be called up.
Mervis discusses his goals, how the game has slowed down after a crazy week, and how it would be to win with a fanbase like the Cubs.
David Kaplan and Gordon Wittenmyer have a spirited discussion about why it took the Cubs so long to call up Christopher Morel. Morel was red hot at AAA this season and has continued that pace after a call up to the big leagues. He’s rejuvenated the lineup and has shown capability as an everyday player. Kap wonders why it took so long.
The bullpen ineffectiveness, particularly with Michael Fulmer is also another debate. Kap doesn’t understand why he’s getting the ball late in games in high leverage situations. Gordon’s take is that if he’s not capable of getting outs in that role, it serves best to move on.
Though the Cubs have sputtered of late - Gordon says it shouldn’t be because of the rotation, while Kap is more targeted towards David Ross.
David Kaplan and Gordon Wittenmyer discuss the Cubs dismal 2-7 road trip that has put the Cubs in their worst spot of the season. But, the guys debate whether this week is the key to figuring out just who this team is. The rotation has struggled, but they're getting Kyle Hendricks back as soon as this week. Hayden Wesneski is in Iowa and Jameson Taillon has been awful with an ERA north of 8.
Cubs GM Jed Hoyer is taking the accountability of the bullpen, and saying it shouldn't be on manager David Ross. However, Kap believes Rossy should be held accountable, too, especially when Christopher Morel has homered in 9 times in 12 games. Hoyer also addressed why Morel was in Iowa for 5+ weeks.
Gordon joins the podcast in the middle of nowhere, literally. Why? Well, he answers that question as to why his GPS took him there.
At the end of the conversation, the guys discuss whether the Cubs should approach Marcus Stroman about an extension because he has an opt out after the 2023 season. Gordon believes, wait and see.
#DavidKaplan & #GordonWittenmyer are the best #Cubs sparring partners in the business and right out of the gate they show disgust at the worst team in the National League. How did they get here? Why are they here? After an above average April, it's been an absolutely awful May. It even included the team giving out Hall of Famer #BillyWilliams bobbleheads with the WRONG NUMBER!!!! The #Reds swept the #Cubs last weekend. Are they actually a team with a better future?
Then, the boys pivot to #KyleHendricks, who returned to the rotation for the first time since July of 2022. Kap says he thinks Kyle is back to his former self.
Gordon poses the question to Kap. Where does Kyle Hendricks fit in Cubs history and lore as a pitcher who isn't Hall a Famer, but one of the all-time Cubs greats. Is he a great? Some Cubs greats believe so. Comment below ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
The conversation pivots to not if the Cubs will be sellers but who will they sell when they do? Kap believes they don't have much to sell, but #CodyBellinger appears to be the lone position player that they have to do so assuming he's healthy sooner than later.
The guys go through young arms if they do decide to move on from #MarcusStroman.
Finally - the guys discuss accountability. Does #TomRicketts have the where with all to hold #JedHoyer, #DavidRoss and the front office accountable for failure? Because Gordon believes that it's easiest to tear it down...but to build it up and keep it that way? That's the talent...and the Cubs haven't proven it after the first one.
At the end - the guys laugh and rip the fact that Billy Williams' bobblehead had the wrong number when given away on Saturday night against the Reds.
And CONGRATS to Gordon for landing the beat writer gig for the Reds with the #CincinnatiEnquirer.

REKAP Cubs Podcast - ⚾ (Season 1 - Episode 17) State of the Cubs, going nowhere fast.
00:29:10
Kap and Gordon talk about who on the Cubs could potentially make the All Star Game this summer.
They also talk about the Cubs bad bullpen. Will they fix it this season? Is this a lost season already? How do we judge David Ross as the manager when he's been given a bad bullpen and offense. But they do both have some issues with Ross's lineup construction.
Kap also wants to see Miguel Amaya get more playing time as a catcher, but Gordon doesn't necessarily agree. He likes the Cubs slow-playing Amaya.
Kap also wants to know if you'd be comfortable as a fan if one of your favorite sports teams took on a Saudi partner that suddenly gives your team the ability to be a top-level payroll in the league.

REKAP Cubs Podcast - ⚾ (Season 1 - Episode 18) Should the Cubs Make Stroman An Offer?
00:25:25
Kap and Gordon start with Marcus Stroman's social media complaints that the Cubs haven't had any real contract negotiations with him. Tune in to find out if Kap and Gordon think Stroman has a legitimate beef or if they think he's in the wrong for putting this out on social media.
The guys also talk about the pitchers that will be available in the offseason if Stroman ends up getting traded at the deadline this year. There are some interesting pitchers who could potentially be available, but whether or not any of them actually hit the market remains to be seen. There's one pitcher that Gordon in particular likes for the Cubs.
Kap also brings up his issue with the Cubs continuing to use Miles Mastrobuoni. The guy is batting .153 and the Cubs have used him as a DH. Kap think that's absurd. Does Gordon agree? And Gordon also points out that the Cubs don't have a lot of better options as so many players on the team are struggling offensively.

REKAP Cubs Podcast - ⚾ (S1 -EP 20) Will the Cubs or Reds Add On At The Deadline?
00:19:55
As the All-Star break approaches, Kap and Gordon talk about where the Cubs stand in the division. The Reds are the surprise leaders of the division with a good young team but poor pitching. The Cubs are 7 games back but have good pitching. The guys discuss whether they think the Cubs can overtake the Reds for the division. Will the Cubs be willing to add before the deadline? Will other teams even be willing to deal guys with six playoff spots in each league? And will the Cubs be willing to play the necessary price to acquire any kind of real talent?
They also touch on the meeting that some of the Cubs veterans had with manager David Ross this week. What do they think Ross told the guys in the meeting?
Kap and Gordon also look at the schedule leading up to the deadline. How difficult is the schedule? Will it give them an opportunity to finish July strong? The next couple of weeks will be critical for the Cubs as Jed tries to decide whether or not they buy or sell.

REKAP Cubs Podcast - ⚾ (S1 -EP 21) Gordon asked Shohei if he was close to signing with the Cubs in 2018
00:27:25
Kap and Gordon discuss where the Cubs stand coming out of the All-Star Break. They came out and lost 3 of 4. Does that make them sellers? Will Cody Bellinger and Marcus Stroman be gone soon? Could Kyle Hendricks be traded?
Gordon asked Justin Steele at the All Star Game whether it would be disappointing or not for the Cubs to sell at the deadline. What did Steele say?
What will other teams in the division do at the deadline? Gordon heard that the Brewers might actually be a bit aggressive at the deadline.
And finally, Gordon talked to Shohei Ohtani at the All Star Game. He asked him if he was close to signing with the Cubs during his first round of free agency in 2018. He also asked him what he thought about Chicago and the Cubs. Tune in to hear how Shohei responded.

REKAP Cubs Podcast - ⚾ (S1 -EP 23) Kap Wants To Know If Silvy Is Okay With The ⚾ Cubs Being Buyers. (Exclusive)
00:30:38
#MarcSilverman - aka #Silvy from the "#WaddleandSilvyShow" on #ESPN100 radio - joins #Davidkaplan hours after the baseball deadline. Prior to the deadline, Silvy had been hoping for the #ChicagoCubs to be sellers and to continue to build their minor league system. Kap has consistently said he wanted to see the Cubs be buyers. The #ChicagoCubs ended up acquiring the biggest bat that was available in #JeimerCandelario.
So how does Silvy feel now that the #Cubs ended up buying? As they taped the podcast, the #Cubs were crushing the #Reds on Tuesday evening. Did that make Silvy feel more encouraged? Give us your comments below in the comments section on this exclusive podcast with #Kap and #Silvy! ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
Cubs REKAP Podcast - ⚾ (S1 -EP 26)- Should the Chicago Cubs still consider going after Ohtani?
00:31:12
Kap and Gordon discuss how Shohei Ohtani's injury will impact his impending free agency. Should the Cubs still go after him? Would he consider a short term deal while he rehabs his arm?
They also discuss the Cubs rotation. What seemed like a strength a month or two ago has become a major concern. The guys debate who they still trust in the rotation and who might be able to help from the minor leagues. They also discuss the likelihood of Justin Steele winning the Cy Young.
And finally they debate whether or not the Cubs can still win the division despite their rotation issues. Which upcoming series are the most important?
Cubs REKAP Podcast - ⚾ (S1 - EP 28) - Should the Chicago Cubs have added more at the deadline?
00:23:00
Kap and Gordon discuss the Cubs recent hot streak. They talk about some of the young pitchers that have contributed to the Cubs' recent success. Kap says the Cubs are going to be a tough out in the playoffs. Does Gordon agree?
They also take a look at the rest of the Cubs' schedule. How difficult is the final month for the Cubs?
After Justin Steele's performance against the Giants, is he the favorite to win the Cy Young? Does Bellinger have a shot at winning the MVP?
How many teams in the National League are better than the Cubs? Are the Cubs the second best team in the NL? Can their offense continue to hit in the postseason?
If Jed Hoyer knew how good this team would perform in August, would he have added more to the team at the deadline? Lance Lynn might have been someone the Cubs should have looked at.
Cubs REKAP Podcast - ⚾ (S1 - EP 29) - Can the Cubs solve their pitching woes this month?
00:15:52
Kap and Gordon discuss the state of the Cubs pitching. Suddenly they are looking a little bit short in both the rotation and the bullpen. Do they have the horses to get to the postseason?
The Cubs really need to win games next week when they are playing some easier teams before they finish the season against the Braves and Brewers.
Cubs REKAP Podcast (S1 - EP 30) - What does Gordon think the Cubs have in common with White Castle?
00:24:31
#Gordon stopped at #WhiteCastle and while enjoying a #slider, he realized the Cubs have something in common with the fast food joint. #Kap and Gordon also break down the last two weeks of the season. Do they think the #ChicagoCubs will get into the playoffs? If they do, can they do any real damage? Who do the guys think has been the #MVP of the #Cubs this season? Is it the obvious answer - #Bellinger or is there someone else to consider?
Cubs REKAP Podcast ⚾ (S1-EP 30) Should the Chicago Cubs Have Added More Pitching?
00:29:21
Kap and Gordon debate if the Cubs season is over or not. Kap and Gordon both agree that the Cubs made a mistake in not trading for more pitching at the deadline. Gordon tells the story about a pitcher that he heard the Cubs thought they were getting. The Cubs may have had a better chance in September if they had added more bullpen help. Especially after they traded for Candelario, they should have done more.
Can the Cubs sweep the Brewers to give themselves a chance to get a Wild Card spot?
If the Cubs don't get to the playoffs, will they push their chips in a sign some studs to take the Cubs to the next level next year? Will they re-sign Bellinger? Kap and Gordon disagree that the Cubs will pay the necessary price for him. Will they pursue a third baseman?
Cubs REKAP Podcast ⚾ (S1-EP 31) - Putting a bow on the disappointing finish to the 2023 season
00:31:21
Kap and Gordon discuss whether the 2023 Chicago Cubs season was a disappointment or a success. They seem to differ on several topics.
Is Cody Bellinger as good as gone? Or is he coming back on a multi-year deal?
Will the Cubs trade for Mets slugger Pete Alonso? What will that package look like?
The guys breakdown GM Jed Hoyer's postseason press conference. Kap thinks it's the best a GM has looked in Chicago in years, while Gordon believes we shouldn't be handing out awards for teams that fail to make a postseason.
All that and more on the 2023 season wrap up edition of the pod.
Cubs REKAP Podcast ⚾ (S1-EP 32) - Should the Cubs trade for Juan Soto?
00:30:30
Kap and Gordon discuss whether or not they think the Cubs will go after Juan Soto. Soto has one year left on his rookie deal and is not yet 25 years old. He'll cost a lot, but with just one year of control left, he can't possibly cost too much. They also discuss whether or not getting Soto should stop them from going after Bellinger as well.
They also discuss whether letting Kyle Schwarber walk for nothing is one of the biggest mistakes the Cubs have ever made. Kyle is back in the post-season again, and the Cubs let him go basically because of money. They didn't want to pay the $8 million to keep him. Was that as bad as the Twins releasing David Ortiz back in 2002? What about the Orioles getting rid of Jake Arrieta?
Cubs REKAP Podcast ⚾ (S1-EP 33) - Will the Cubs go after a big fish? Who would you put in the HOF?
00:29:19
Kap and Gordon talk about the baseball playoffs. More specifically they focus on the Phillies who are playing great baseball and have 2 former Cubs and 1 guy who named his dog Wrigley. The guys talk about those three players and if the Cubs are going to spend big dollars this offseason like the Phillies have. They also talk about how the Rangers have spent big money, which has also lead to their success.
They guys discuss the state of the current Cubs team as well. What do they need to add to be a real contender? Both guys agree they need some new arms, but what else? The guys have an intense debate about who the Cubs will be willing to go after and how much they'll be willing to spend.
Finally, they talk about the contemporary baseball hall of fame committee who will meet in December. There are a number of managers, umpires, and executives who will be on the ballot. Who do the guys think should get in?
Breaking News! - REKAP - The Chicago Cubs hire Craig Counsell!
00:30:23
Kap is fired up because the Chicago Cubs have hired a new manager, Craig Counsell. The news shocked the baseball world has the Cubs relieved manager David Ross of his duties and shockingky hired Craig Counsell to one of the largest manager contracts ever. Most people in baseball assumed the Mets were going to get Craig, but Jed Hoyer operated stealthily and under the radar and swept in and hired him away from the Mets. Reportedly, Counsell wanted to stay in the Midwest, where he likes living and where his kids are in school. This hiring signals to the baseball world that the Cubs are back and ready to spend.
Cubs REKAP Podcast ⚾ (S1-EP 35) - The Cubs are ALL IN. Is Shohei Ohtani next?
00:39:01

With the Cubs being 'All-In' with a $40 million dollar manager, the guys discuss the pursuit of superstar Shohei Ohtani. Are the Cubs a viable landing spot after missing on him the first time when he went to Anaheim? What would it mean and who would follow or where would the Cubs pivot if they don't get him.
There are several teams poised to take steps back, including the Padres. The Cubs are linked to superstar Juan Soto. Why is he the perfect player for Wrigley Field.
And, before the Cubs sign one free agent, are the already the NL Central favorites in 2024? That and much more!
Cubs REKAP Podcast ⚾ (S1-EP 37) - Who will the Chicago Cubs add this winter? Will they sign ANYONE?!
00:30:52
The #chicagocubs have yet to do ANYTHING this offseason at the 2 month mark and into the calendar year of 2024. They're not the only team that's been quiet, but after a record breaking contract to #craigcounsell, it was expected that the #cubs would be BIG spenders this offseason. So...why so quiet? Is #codybellinger nearing a return? Does he HAVE to in order for this offseason to be labeled a success. Are the #cincinnatireds and #stlouiscardinals more division winner ready than the Cubs currently are?

Cubs REKAP Podcast ⚾ (S1-EP 39) - Are the Cubs no longer a destination for free agents?
00:31:37
Kap and Gordon discuss whether or not the Cubs are still a destination for big time free agents. Before they won the World Series in 2016, free agents wanted to come to the Cubs to be a part of the team that would finally win the championship in Chicago. But that's no longer a selling point and the Cubs don't spend at the top of the market, so will they ever attract the top free agents?
Kap and Gordon discuss what's going on with the Cubs as Spring Training quickly approaches. The Cubs have been fairly quiet recently as other teams have started signing more players. Are the Cubs going to do anything else??

00:35:34
The guys talk about why 4 of #ScottBoras's big clients are still on the market, including #CodyBellinger. Is Scott asking for too much money? Or is there collusion? Will the #Cubs actually agree to something with Cody or will another team swoop in and pay him what he wants? Some are starting to think the Cubs aren't actually going to get Bellinger. But #JeffPassan said on the radio yesterday that he did think the Cubs would sign one of those four Scott Boras clients. Listen in to who Kap and Gordon think that guy is.
They also discuss all of the projections for the season. The Cubs are being thought of as a world-beater. Is everyone underestimating them? Or are they a very average team?

00:30:19
Kap is excited because pitchers and catchers have reported! Or is he? Kap and Gordon discuss the Cubs offseason and why the Cubs haven't signed more free agents prior to spring training. Even if they sign Bellinger, which isn't a sure thing, they are basically bringing back the same team. What happened to a big offseason? Are they trying to win this year? Why are they struggling to get free agents to sign?
The guys wonder why they haven't signed any free agent safety nets in case the young guys don't show improvement. Will Miles Mastrobuoni be in the starting lineup on Opening Day?
