• Ok- IF referenced, you CAN use my fake name 'Kasper'. Mandela effect (kinda freaked) Well aware Advanced Auto is Advance Auto (no sense whatsoever), Loony toons, Ed McMahon et cetera. Mass misremembering I get. 

• Now it has happened on a personal level. 1st is "mass" Sgt. Pepper Album - black and white 'pyramid hat guy' Aleister Crowley is now moved one space to the right, in color, no hat & looks like 'Uncle Fester'. 

• Next VERY personal. Retired mason. Had 5-gallon can of water repellant in the basement of a friend's house, spent an hour trying to decipher what the product was named due to a degraded, faded, corroded label. Ultimately got the product via upc label number. 2 years later (a month ago) went to retrieve the bucket & other items from a friend's basement ... label.was ad new !!! CLEARLY readable!!! 

• Two weeks later went on the job to a job at a "friend's" house. Known 30 years 3rd tier friend, who always say Hi, and shakes hands but not 'besties'. I'd stopped by his home 25 years ago to help move furniture off his truck. Stopped by his store looking for an item that was located at his house which we visited and had dinner there and stopped by a year later when I saw him washing a truck in his driveway. 

• Now the house I was working at was his, but it was NOT the same house. 3-4 houses away but same street. I was NOT confused, I knew the house I knew him living in as it was my Uncles house which had been moved 1/4 mile. Now he lived in another house and had NEVER lived in the house I knew of.

Wampus Cat

The wampus cat is a cryptid or legendary creature, that is said to inhabit the forests of North Carolina. It is typically described as a large, cat-like creature with sharp teeth and claws. Some people believe that the Wampus cat is a descendant of the Eastern cougar, which went extinct in the early 1900s. Others believe that it is a completely different species of animal.

There have been many reports of wampus cat sightings over the years. In 1920, a farmer in the Yadkin Valley claimed to have shot a wampus cat that was attacking his livestock. The creature was described as being about the size of a bear with a long, shaggy coat. In 1935, a group of hunters in the Uwharrie Mountains claimed to have seen a wampus cat that was about the size of a panther.

While there is no scientific evidence to support the existence of the wampus cat, many people in North Carolina continue to believe in the creature. The wampus cat has become a part of the state's folklore and is often featured in stories and legends. 

Here are some additional details about the wampus cat:

• It is said to be about the size of a bear or panther.

• It has sharp teeth and claws.

• It is covered in a long, shaggy coat.

• It is said to be a nocturnal creature.

• It is said to be very aggressive and dangerous.

What is the Mandela Effect:

• “From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. A false memory is a psychological phenomenon where a person recalls something that did not happen or differently from the way it happened.”

• According to paranormal researcher Fiona Broome, the Mandela effect occurs whenever a vivid personal memory is found to conflict with the historical record. Broome recalls TV reports from around 1980 that Nelson Mandela had died in prison. Naturally, she was surprised to learn of his release and election as president of South Africa in 1994. When she shared this experience with friends at Dragon Con, she learned that others had had similar “false memories.”

• But for others, according to Mandelaeffect.com, it’s “The Mandela Effect is evidence that you may have experienced events from a different reality. Finding others with similar memories can affirm that.”

Causes of the Mandela Effect

• The existence of Parallel Universes (according to Quantum Physicists)

• False Memory and “Fuzzy Trace Theory” - A very hard to explain theory of the formation of memories in individuals, where the semantics of a memory are formed separately from the actual event due to the way in which our brain processes common occurrences within that memory (“a truck drove by, it was a blue truck” is stored in a different part of the memory). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuzzy-trace_theory

• The CERN Theory: Some think more of these incidents have occurred since CERN was established, and suggest that its particle physics experiments are causing the world to shift into parallel universes. People are recalling the original reality, which is why there is divergent thought according to the believers. Worse yet, some theorists believe that “our” universe was destroyed in 2012.

• When it comes to the Mandela effect, many examples are attributable to so-called “schema-driven errors”. Schemas are organized “packets” of knowledge that direct memory. In this way, schemas facilitate understanding of the material but can produce distortion.
  
  Frederic Bartlett outlined this process in his 1932 book Remembering. Barlett read the Canadian Indian folktale War of the Ghosts to participants. He found that listeners omitted unfamiliar details and transformed information to make it more understandable.

Leftover evidence are “residuals”

Why Worry  

• If we are trapped in a parallel dimension, what would happen if our earth came in close contact with its doppelganger in that universe?

• If this is a “phase out” or intentional shifting of our perceptions (aka a giant industrial military test) does this mean the “residuals” and people experiencing residuals have some sort of immunity?

• If we’re all “dead” and people have residuals, is the veil thinner for them, are they the ones in some sort of purgatory or thinner “layer” of death?

• Rational Concerns: If you have too many residuals that you’ve experienced, does that mean you suffer from mental weakness or mental illness? Does it mean you just have a really bad memory and need to go to the doctor or take more vitamins? Does it mean you grew up or spent most of your life in an area where information did not spread correctly? (i.e. what “color” was the inventor of the cotton gin, Eli Whitney? Why put his invention in “Black History Month” if he was a white dude?)

• Nelson Mandela dying in the 1980s, Nelson Mandela dying in 1993, Nelson Mandela dying at other points in history.

• Shazaam starring Sinbad -Update: Will Smith makes fun of it on latest magazine Entertainment Weekly

• The man run over by tanks in Tiananmen Square (he wasn’t run over, he climbed atop the tank?)

• Movies: “Luke I am your Father” “Mirror Mirror on the Wall”

Are there people unaffected by the Mandela Effect?

• There are theories that some people are not affected by or have some sort of keen awareness of what’s really going on. Some theorists believe people like Donald Trump (John George Trump, MIT professor is his uncle and was involved in CERN), Jim Carrey (is aware that we are living in a construct full of errors), and Time Travelers (Matt McConnaughy, Pharell Williams, Keanu Reeves) accidentally discovered the paradigm shift and are trapped here with us.

• Bryson-I think I found another Fortean term of the day. It may be a good idea to talk about John Keel's Men in Black (MIB) reported at the time of the Mothman. 

• My mother and father back in the early 70’s, were in Linville and decided to see the lights. They stopped at the lookout on the road and a few cars pulled in. Later a car driving by slowed down and pulled in. It was woman, she asked them if they wanted to go see the lights. Everyone got in their cars and followed the woman. She drove a short ways and turned on a dirt path. They followed it to a spot. There was a drop off in front of them. The woman said that this is where the army studied the lights. She left and as it got dark, lights started rising out of the drop off. My mom was scared. Daddy swears they looked like the glow off of cigarettes. They glowed more than gave off light. They were feet away.
