15 Aug 2020 | Creator to Creators Ep 14 Otto Wilhelm Nilsson | 00:17:25
Composer Otto Wilhelm Nilsson talks music and more. Born in Stockholm, Sweden on the 7th of October in 1993 and I started to write music for films in 2012 when I did the music for Halloween short about a monster haunting forest. The first piece of film music I can recall was Basil Poledouris' wonderful score for Free Willy. The main theme used to send shivers down my spine (and still do today) and it made me feel very strongly for the character of Willy and his human friend Jesse. My real fascination with film music though began at the age of 7 when I saw Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade together with my father. That was the first time I really understood that a person had sat down and wrote the fantastic music I was hearing. The distinctive themes that Williams employs in that film are just marvelous and also very effective. Since then, film music has always been and always will be close to my heart. #score #film #movies #tv #composer #creatortocreators #content Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/creator-to-creators-with-meosha-bean--4460322/support.

17 Aug 2020 | Creator to Creators Ep16 Akam Khiziryan | 00:15:27
Bio My Name is Akam Khiziryan. I am a Nashville based 19-year-old actor/model. My ethnic background is Kurdish, but I came to the United States when I was just 2 years of age and have been living in Nashville ever since. Growing up as a child, I quickly became fascinated with watching action movies and I began to dream that I will become an action movie star one day. I was and still am motivated and I continue to be inspired by icons such as Bruce Lee, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sylvester Stallone, Jackie Chan and many others. Currently, I have been acting for four-plus years and I have been modeling for two years. In my journey thus far, I have had some incredible experiences and fallen more in love with acting as a career pursuit. A recent memorable project I was involved in was Morgan Freeman’s “The Story of God” season 3. I am a very athletic person. I come from a family and a culture where soccer is a highly celebrated sport. Naturally then, I love soccer and I have been playing “the beautiful game” since I was five years old. I am also preparing for a near term project called “The Bank” for which I will cast on. This is a show about the game of soccer; hence, it has positively reinforced my active lifestyle. I train and practice on my soccer skills daily. I have also been actively involved in martial arts. I believe anyone who desires to be an action star ought to familiarize themselves with different types of martial arts. I also combine my athletic lifestyle with yoga and meditation sessions throughout the week to help me focus and re-center myself. I am always in search of new opportunities. My life long goal is to become an action movie star, and I will continue to strive for that dream. 25 Aug 2020 | Creator to Creators Ep 20 Mike Ferguson | 00:20:41
Mike was born in Boston Massachusetts. He was heavily influenced by the East Coast Hardcore scene and the anti-racist movement growing out of it while at the same time, he created a record label wherein many of the bands are still around making impacts to this day. Mike, by the time he was 18 years old he had two full tattoo sleeves. Hardcore music and tattoos were a package deal back in the day, so it only came naturally that Mike learned how to tattoo. As he started to develop a distaste for the corruption in monetizing this influential art, he leaned more towards tattooing being that that allowed him to control his narrative. Through tattooing, he was able to travel the world, but like many young men in search of their calling, vices had their hold on him at times. Until he met his wife who in addition to being the mother of his children, is a professional bodybuilder, wrestler, actress, and black belt and instructor in Krav Maga. These two souls matching up got Mike on a path of progress, and she pushed Mike to believe he could do anything, thus he started acting. He's able to bounce from kid's shows on Television to the most despicable villain you could see on Screen. “If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough.“ Mike does just that. 31 Aug 2020 | Creator to Creators Ep 25 Monica Suriyage | 00:19:56
director-writer host Monica Suriyage Monica spent most of her life thinking she would be a doctor, but then she realized she's not a fan of blood unless it's made of red dye and corn syrup. She switched her focus to movies and graduated with a degree in Film and Media Arts from Temple University. Monica's mission as a director is to create content featuring diversity as second nature. She's tired of seeing a character's race or sexual identity contribute to their main conflict in a story. Zombies don't discriminate about what flesh they'll eat and she doesn't either! Monica tends to sway towards horror/thriller and her stories feature women trying to survive larger than life situations. She hopes viewers have as much fun watching her films as she does making them. Raphael became passionate about acting and movies at a very young age. It was in the 1980s that he discovered all the happiness and deep emotions that films could create. He grew up watching a lot of French movies starring actors like Jean-Paul Belmondo, Louis de Funès and Bourvil, among others but also American actors such as Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Michael Douglas, Clint Eastwood, Michael J. Fox, Jim Carrey and many more. He was part of a school play written by his teacher Jean-Marc Hohl in the late 80s in a small village named Puplinge. The show's name was "Il faut vraiment être dans la lune pour voir la vie en rose" ("You really have to be on the moon to see life in pink"). In the early 1990s, he enjoyed and developed his skills in high school (Foron), attending teacher Gus Horn's diction and stage play classes where his natural and emotional skills were said to impress the teacher. His passion became so intense that he began buying various books written by movie critics such as Leonard Maltin's Movie & Video Guide, Roger Ebert's, Halliwell's Film Guide, Gene Siskel's, and was unable to put them down, gaining a huge amount of knowledge of movie history. Later, even when working in Geneva in various roles to make a living, he nurtured his love for the art by discovering tons of movies ranging from classical genres to blockbusters & independent ones. He also attended classes at the Grütli Theater and Cinema Club's lab to get some camera operation work experience and to gain editing skills. In the early 2000s, he began acting - mostly as an extra and in small roles - in some French, Swiss and international TV series and films. In 2009, he bumped into his childhood friend Joachim Levy, Swiss Director, Screenwriter and Showrunner, with whom he started to work with and joined "The Bank TV Series" project a short while later. He became one of the Executive Producers on The Bank's Production crew working on the financing of, and the development of the series. Based in Geneva (as November 2019), Raphael travels regularly to many places, such as Paris, Sarajevo, Los Angeles, Riga & the UK, to widen his professional network in the TV and movie entertainment field. He's associated with Showrunner Joachim Levy for years as producer, but later in 2019 he also got associated with German Director Alexander Hahn to co-produce movies & also met UK based producer Russell Gow to develop new projects as co-producer the same year. 21 May 2022 | Creator to Creators S3 Ep 21 Kathleen Garrett | 00:35:24
In the fall of 2018, the world as I knew it imploded putting me on a collision course with catastrophe and success. The catastrophe part was clear as a bell, the success…not so much. In retrospect, I see that sometimes it takes an explosion and the ground to split in order to rise above the demolition to resurrect and be on the path one is meant to be. Allow me to explain. At the time, I was represented by a prestigious agency by which, since I was a yearling, had always wanted to be repped. There’s a certain cache that comes with an agency’s status. It makes you feel you’re pissing with the big boyz-or girls, a status that reflects I have significance, therefore; I am. Work took off. I recurred on New York’s iconic shows, Law & Order and L&O SVU amongst other television gigs; was cast in a major feature film; and did theatre. Life was good, until the roles got fewer and the bookings leaner. After all, I was a woman “of a certain age”, and unless you’re a star, or “a name”, you’d better have a rich spouse or a real estate license ‘cause the odds of being sought after by the Entertainment Industry at my age was less than being hit by lighten or the lottery. The calls got scarcer, the bookings fewer. Before long, that fateful phone call came. “We love you, nothing personal, but you’re a female, (old since you’re over 40) and there’s really no use for this heifer in our stable.” I was dropped. To put a perspective on the significance of losing theatrical representation for a middle-aged woman, my dear friend, Brian Tarantina (who was on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and has since passed, sadly) said, “They dropped you? At this stage?!” Yeah, at this stage indeed because who is going to rep me now? No one, it seemed. I made multiple calls, most of which went unanswered or, if they did reply, the answer was the same, “We have women in your category who we can’t get work. Now, if you were a woman of color, Indian, say, we’d be interested.” “I’ll tan,” I’d joke, but they ignored the humor. The way it looked, my career was over, done, finished without me making that choice. During all this, I was in an obsessive, lustful, met the-love-of-my-life, crazy-making relationship. Why is it the unhealthier the relationship the more addictive it is? I felt like I was dating crack. Needless to say, that blew up in my face along with my theatrical representation leaving me 2 tossed aside like roadkill. So many rugs were pulled out from under me the floor collapsed, and I was in freefall. No representation, no work, lost my health insurance, cyphering off my savings, and devasted with a broken heart. Life never looked bleaker. In the course of only 6 weeks, I lost 7 pounds, which I did not have to lose, my hair was falling out, and my breasts looked like deflated helium balloons-which reflected my life condition perfectly. One afternoon upon returning home, I dropped to my knees in utter despair weeping. Perhaps a good cry will help, I thought, until the crying wouldn’t cease. It became uncontrollable. Is this a breakdown? The thought terrified me. Rising to my feet, fists clenched like Scarlett O’Hara, I repeated aloud, “I will not break down!” Finally, getting control of my emotions, my therapist’s voice echoed in my head, “Put one foot in front of the other and keep moving your feet.” Drained, I chanted and prayed then reluctantly went back to making calls, sending emails, and went to Plan B, though there was no Plan B to go to. One never forgets acts of kindness, especially in despair. My commercial agent, David Elliot, said to me as I wept with humiliation in his office, “Your value hasn’t changed.” “Did you not hear me, David? I was dropped by my theatrical reps. My value is lower than Iraqi currency.” “Look at your body of work, your skill set. Your value hasn’t changed.” He led me into my other commercial agent’s office, Michael Raymen, who, unbeknownst to me, was the president of the agents’ association. He set up an appointment with a prestigious office, parallel to the one that gave me the boot. That meeting went well, very well, and my optimism ran high until I received a gracious, respectful rejection saying that because I wasn’t 20 something, had I been a woman of color, they would be very interested in signing me. Seemed like my value was paling. But I heeded the advice of my therapist, “Pray, chant, and keep moving your feet.” Reluctantly, with little faith in the process and in myself, I asked Michael for another recommendation. As the saying goes, 10 th time’s a charm. 3 These new agents said what I didn’t expect. They had no one like me, I embodied New York sophistication, intelligence, and chic. All I kept thinking was, But I’m a blue-collar, Italian American girl from Schenectady, though was wise enough not to verbalize that thought to them. They signed me, and a new, working relationship was born. Now, just over three years later, I recur as Judge Nina Larkin in season 1 of: POWER BOOK 2: GHOST, guest starred to critical acclaim on FBI, BILLIONS and THE DEUCE, won a SAG AWARD for my work in THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7, recently shot a Hallmark Christmas movie, am in the #1 video game in the world, HORIZON FORBIDDEN WEST. And last, but most exciting, I am in two of the most anticipated shows of 2022: recurring in INVENTING ANNA as Sasha Thomas, and THE FIRST LADY as Laura Bush opposite Viola Davis’ Michelle Obama. Oh, and my dating life is rather hot now, too. Moral of the story: When the world seems to have lost faith in you, even when you lose faith in yourself, always believe in hope, move your feet; and never take no or any rejection as your final answer. I’m a Ukrainian artist currently living in Poland. Inspired by the Masters of European Art History as well as from the Renaissance and the Roman frescoes and mosaics, I developed my personal style. My research analyses the essence of painting in order to blend together different techniques from different periods in a unique artwork. My artistic practice wants to push the boundaries of painting further, for this reason I have refined my research toward abstractions. Abstract painting allows me to concentrate on the very basis of painting such as colors and shapes and it gives me the possibility to mix together multiple styles, for example suprematism and action painting. In my work there is also a mystic and religious component linked with my deepest emotions that drove me to painting in the first place Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/creator-to-creators-with-meosha-bean--4460322/support.

Author with a wildly vivid imagination. I've grown up trying to escape reality and in doing so I found myself in Liuith. An infinitely vast world with beautiful sceneries and endless places to adventure. I love adventure and is a sucker for spontaneous outings that can take me anywhere. I love to travel and I am infatuated with every culture I learn about. I'm a big food obsessed person, so I can try anything (minus certain animals though) and always enjoy it. My pallet is surprisingly wide. I grew up on Sri Lankan and Vietnamese food. And was given the chances to try foods from Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, etc. I can go on about food, but this is me. An avid dreamer. A fantasy enthusiast. And a creative. I dream to tell stories that reach the heart, both in books and screens. Oh, and I love animals. 21 Jun 2022 | Creator to Creators S3 Ep 29 Adriana Adler | 00:30:40
Adriana Adler was born and raised in Southern California. Started acting when I was in 7th grade when my best friend at the time asked me to join drama club with her, and I’ve been acting ever since. I did theater in high school and then went on to get a degree in Theater at the California Lutheran University, along with my degree in Math. Yes I am also a nerd who tutors Math for a living. My senior year of college I met my Meisner teacher Markus Flanagan who studied directly under Sanford Meisner. I took a total of 6 years with him, learning the proper 2 year process of learning the Meisner Technique. The following years I spent in his Master Class where we did scenes, audition techniques, and improv among other things. My last year in his class (right before Covid hit) I met my awesome friend Natasha. Markus called us as becoming best friends from the beginning and he was right! I am currently working on a new web series with Natasha and our other awesome friend Kaye. It is going to be a series of comedic skits. I love dramatic acting too, but I’ve always had a love for comedy. My stupid sense of humor and good comedic timing always bring something fun to the table. I am also an artist who mostly works in charcoal and chalk pastel, but I also work with oil and acrylic. I’ve found that having another creative outlet really helps me with my acting. People and animals are my favorite subjects to paint. I love animals (cats are my favorite), so painting them is always fun! Former drummer of the band Melody, who gained prominence in Brazil in 2014 for participating in the yet extinct music tv show SuperStar on Globo, Carlos Lazzari, 33 years old, is now a citizen of the world. Cacá does not stop there. During the month of August he will be touring the United States with American artist Vella. To top it off, the Gaucho is participating in a new Netflix project. - But I still can't tell you anything about it - it's a mystery. https://www.carloslazzari.com/ Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/creator-to-creators-with-meosha-bean--4460322/support. |
