Tonight’s show was on the difference between natural and unnatural  economics. Later in the show, Justin Goodearth called in and we dug into  that discussion a little deeper and even touched on some politics and  other bigger systemic issues. We discussed how stocks, bonds,  cryptocurrencies and other fiat currencies are not representative of the  real world we live in. We also talked about the disconnect people seem  to have as a result of not being plugged into their natural environment.

In this episode we covered rain making bacteria if the first part. Then  we moved on to bio-remediation of pesticides and chemicals in soils.  Later we discussed cover cropping systems and tactics and methods for  cover crops as well as a few different varieties. We discussed Buckwheat  as a cover crop as well as a honey crop and green manure crop. We  talked about Rye and it’s ability to build soil tilth and structure, and  we discussed Austrian Winter Pea as a Nitrogen fixing legume and winter  cover crop for fairly cold climates. Finally we discussed some of the  finer details of seed quality especially as it relates to trace mineral  nutrition and seed vigor as well as yield. On tonight's episode of Comrades In Farms I tie back in to why I have covered so much data science, amateur radio, and other technologies. Later in the show I read some excerpts from John Kempf's book "Quality Agriculture" and explain a bit more about health and nutrition and some of the critical components that are so integral in these processes. John Kempf is the founder of Advancing Eco Agriculture which is the leading company in regenerative agriculture today. Later in the show I share a plant sap analysis test I did on my Crimson Beefsteak Tomato crop and share how that information helped me tune my soil and plant nutrition in on a much better level. Peter Head is a Musician, Amateur Radio Operator and an expert on APRS or Automatic Packet Reporting System for Amateur Radio. Peter shares some of the many things APRS can do including GPS location and tracking, text messaging and even satellite communications as well as talking to the International Space Station. Peter even shares an interesting story about how he and some other hams were able to send a message via APRS from one end of the Appalachian trail to the other referred to as the "Golden Packet". He also shares how one amateur radio operator is able to use APRS to detect when his bee hives are swarming.

This episode we covered regenerative agriculture  practices regarding cover cropping and distribution of food systems.  Tied in to that discussion we talked a little bit about water quality as  it relates to foliar feeds and their efficacy as well as irrigation  and even how water quality can GREATLY reduce the amount of pesticides  and herbicides required to achieve the same goal even in conventional  chemical agriculture systems. We also talked about bees and their life  cycle a bit as it pertains to fall nest building and sustaining through  the winter. In the scope of the bee discussion we talked about how YOU  can help the bees in your own way without having to have a bee colony or  understand them on a more intimate level. Finally, we talked about my  greenhouse here in Tivoli, NY and it’s evolution from when I first built  it as a thermal mass in-ground furnace heated system to it’s current  rendition today where I used a wood stove and water tanks as well as a  Raspberry Pi (small single-board inexpensive computer) to monitor and  control all the functions required to manage the greenhouse environment. Brian shares many of the complexities of data collection as well as making sense of data and using it to better understand different models in research as well as practical application. Tonight Brad Lauber of Lauber Seed Farms and the Channel Grow The Farm  Up returns. We dove deeper into the discussion around food labeling and  engaged our live viewers to get their feedback on their feelings,  thoughts, and wants regarding food labeling. This was an excellent  in-depth discussion about many of the logistics around food labels. Brad  And I both feel this is an important issue as we go forward with  evolving technologies. Food quality is so often misrepresented and  Brad's company is developing a new third party independent certification  regarding regenerative agriculture, food labels, and food quality. I  also introduced John Kempf's new book "Quality Agriculture" as John has  been an integral part of my education evolution in regenerative  agriculture. This is a Lemon Verbena plant I gave to a friend, but I made a mistake in my soil mix and it went sick and turned downhill on him. I literally healed this plant in 12 days. Remeber always, ENVIRONMENT dictates gene expression. Change the environment, change the expression of the gene.

In this video we discuss the logistics involved in designing a ram pump. We cover everything from site selection and analysis to measuring elevations as well as calculating Hydraulic Ram Pump data to determine water delivery, pressure, volume and more.
