10 Jun 2024Don’t be an Asshat at Work00:24:19

In this episode of the Coaches and Leaders Assemble podcast titled "Don't Be an Asshat at Work," Laura highlights the issue of psychological safety in the workplace by calling out the outdated command-and-control leadership styles that continue to rear their ugly heads through the demonstration of 'asshattery'.

It's time to stop making excuses for people who exhibit toxic behaviours and start demanding better. These old-school leadership tactics aren't just ineffective—they're harmful.

Laura shares reflections on how to recogise this and move away from being a dictatorial "asshat" to becoming a supportive and empathetic leader. Creating a workplace where everyone feels safe to speak up, take risks, and be vulnerable is crucial for fostering trust, collaboration, and innovation. This isn't just about being nice; it's about driving performance and satisfaction in a meaningful way.

And here's the best part: this is a key theme in my upcoming book, which hits the shelves on 27th June 2024 where she dives even deeper into how to recognise toxic behaviours, hold leaders accountable, and create a culture of respect and inclusivity.

Don't miss this episode if you're serious about leading with empathy and making a real difference in your team's lives.

Head on over to www.dnacoach.co.uk/book to find out a little more and ensure you subscribe to be kept updated on launch day offers.

I explore how purposeful questions can stimulate our minds, generate creative solutions, and help us gain clarity and set priorities.

By asking open-ended, specific, and reflective questions, we can overcome challenges, uncover insights, and create a more effective action plan.

Let's dive right in.

04 Apr 2023Episode 18: Self Development (Mini Episode)00:12:04

Welcome to Episode 18 of the Coaches and Leaders Assemble Podcast hosted by Laura Royal, the podcast for all things coaching, leadership, people and culture.

In today's episode, Laura reflects on a few days at the end of last week and shares some insights on personal and professional development.

This episode is a mini one, mainly because Laura forgot to record a larger episode, but still it serves as a reminder of the importance of taking time for self, personal and professional development.

It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day tasks and responsibilities that come with work and life, and we may forget to prioritise our own growth and development.

However, taking time for ourselves and investing in our own development is crucial for moving forward and achieving success in both our personal and professional lives.

By taking even just a few minutes each day to read, meditate, or learn a new skill, we are investing in our own growth and development.

It doesn't have to be a grand gesture, but rather small consistent actions that add up over time. And as we continue to develop ourselves, we become better equipped to handle challenges, overcome obstacles, and achieve our goals.

So, even though this may be a mini-episode, it's a powerful reminder that investing in ourselves and our own growth is a key component of success.

Let's make sure to take the time to prioritise our own development, and we will continue to grow and move forward towards our goals.

03 Jun 2024Getting Sh*t Done as a Master Procrastofaffer00:32:15

Oh hi there and welcome back to the Coaches and Leaders Assemble podcast. The podcast for all things coaching, leadership, people and culture.

Now in this episode I am bearing a little bit of my soul by sharing with you the unhelpful pattern and strategy that I run that can sometimes hinder progress BUT how I've learned to recognise that pattern and use it to my benefit to quite frankly Get Sh*t Done, especially as someone who considers themselves a Master Procrastofaffer...you'll also learn my conjoined word definition too.

I share with you the strategy and pattern that I leaned into in order to get my book written which publishes this month on the 27th June and how you can utilise some the strategies I share in order to do the two things I talk about all the time....make change and move forward.

I talk about the stats shared in the Power of Accountability article too which you can read here - The Power of Accountability - AFCPE

While you are here, why not register for updates on the book launch here www.dnacoach.co.uk/book

And of course ensure you are on our Podcast update list here www.dnacoach.co.uk/podcast.

16 Nov 2023Episode 30: The Power of Keeping Things Simple with Special Guest Chris Cook00:41:47

Today features another of our guest interviews and the fantastic Chris Cook, a Double Olympian, and now an established entrepreneur and keynote speaker.

Throughout this episode he shares with Laura the journey through the highs and fair few of the lows of his Olympic career.

The main premise of this episode is based around the concept of ‘Keeping things simple’ and this is the part that has audiences talking and relating to, because there is a power and a brilliance that exists within all of us (…and our teams) when we focus and unite together to deliver the process to achieve our collective mission.

The question Chris challenges every audience to answer is ‘If I asked every person in your organisation to give me your company mission in a ‘one liner’ could they all do it and would they all say the same words verbatim?’.

This episde not only lift spirits and inspires people, but it also gives indviduals and teams the chance to engage with a concept that is relevant to your everyday working lives.
