Rocky, Taxi Driver, Network, Bound For Glory and All The President's Men - any of these films would have been a worthy winner. 19 Jul 2022 | MacGuffin! | 00:49:07
It is a term that is bandied about by part-time film lecturers and self-styled academics, but what is it? A term popularised by Alfred Hitchcock, the MacGuffin is the sometime incidental 'thing' that the characters in a film desire, need or are in search of. Adam and Darrell put aside their quest for the Maltese Falcon and run down the 39 steps to get to the bottom of the legendary MacGuffin. - This episode was originally issued as a Cine-Lit Patreon Subscriber episode in February 2022. 30 Aug 2022 | The Trouble With Harry (1955) & The Wrong Man (1956) | 00:54:23
