28 Mar 2025March 28th: The Golden Rule (again) | Carpooling with Jesus00:04:41

👋 Hey Friends! Welcome to Carpooling with Jesus! Whether you’re in the car, at the breakfast table, or working on homeschool, we’re so glad you’re here. Today, we’re talking about one of the most important things Jesus taught us — treating others the way we want to be treated.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day: "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets." – Matthew 7:12

🌟 Big Idea: The Golden Rule is all about treating others the way we want to be treated. If you want kindness, be kind. If you want to feel included, include others. This is how we show God’s love in our everyday lives.

💡 What Would Jesus Say? If Jesus were sitting with us, He’d say: "I know it’s hard to be kind when someone isn’t nice to you, but remember — you can make a big difference by choosing kindness. When you treat others the way you want to be treated, you’re showing God’s love to the world around you."

🍎 Emily and Zoe's Story: Emily noticed her friend Zoe sitting alone at lunch because she forgot her lunch. Emily remembered the Golden Rule and decided to share her lunch with Zoe. Zoe’s face lit up, and they had a great time together. By treating Zoe the way she’d want to be treated, Emily showed kindness and made Zoe feel included.

❤️ Living It Out:

  • If you want kindness, be kind.
  • If you want people to listen to you, listen to them.
  • You can change the world by showing love and respect to the people around you — at home, school, or even on the playground.

🙌 Parent Tip: If you love this podcast, share it with a friend! Faith-filled conversations start right here.

📣 Question of the Day: Who can you show kindness to today?

This month, we’re exploring Bible stories that Jesus would have learned as a kid. Have you ever been in a situation where you had to trust God, even when things seemed really scary? That’s what today’s episode is all about!

💡 Today’s Bible Verse: "When the king came to the den and called to Daniel, he was overjoyed. He ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den, and when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him because he had trusted in his God." – Daniel 6:23

👋 Welcome, friends! Whether you're at the table, in the car, or just hanging out at home, I’m so glad you’re here! This month, we’re diving into Bible stories that Jesus would have learned as a kid. Today, we’re talking about friendship—what it means to be a true friend.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day: "Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself." – 1 Samuel 18:3

🌟 Big Idea: Jonathan and David’s friendship shows us what it means to be a loyal friend—one who encourages, sacrifices, and stands by others no matter what.

💡 Story Recap:

  • When Saul tried to hurt David, Jonathan protected him, proving that true friendship is about love, not what we can get in return.

19 Apr 2025BONUS: Why Do We Say "He Is Risen"? | The Easter Cheer Every Kid Should Know | Carpooling with Jesus00:04:30

🎙️ Welcome to Carpooling with Jesus! Hey carpool crew, Happy Easter weekend! I’m Pastor Justin, and today’s episode is all about one of the most powerful Easter traditions ever: the Resurrection Cheer—“He is risen!” and the joyful response, “He is risen indeed!”

But have you ever wondered… what does that actually mean? Why do we say it? And why does it matter? Today we’re breaking it down in a fun, faith-filled way that will help every kid understand the celebration behind those words.

📖 Bible Connection:

After Jesus rose from the dead, His friends couldn’t stop talking about it. They saw Him. They ate with Him. They KNEW He was alive. And early Christians began greeting each other with a cheer of faith that still echoes today: ✨ He is risen! ✨ He is risen indeed!

💡 One Thing for the Ride:

When we say, “He is risen indeed,” we’re saying: 👉 “I believe the best news ever—Jesus is alive!”

🙌 Try It Together:

Let’s practice! 🗣️ You say: “He is risen!” 💬 Your family replies: “He is risen indeed!”

It’s like shouting “WE WON!” after your team scores—except this time, it’s a victory over sin and death… and it’s for everyone!

🎉 Real Life Story:

At church one Easter, a little kid yelled back “TOTALLY!” when the pastor said, “He is risen.” Everyone laughed—but you know what? That’s exactly what “He is risen indeed” means: TOTALLY true. Absolutely. No doubt about it.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent Tip:

Want to help this Easter message stick? Greet each other throughout the weekend with the resurrection cheer! It’s simple, joyful, and deeply meaningful. And hey—if this episode encouraged you, text it to a few other parent friends so they can join the celebration too.

❓ Conversation Starter:

Instead of a question today, practice together: 🗣️ One person says, “He is risen!” 💬 Everyone replies, “He is risen indeed!” Then ask: Who’s the first person you want to say it to at church?

🎙️ Welcome to Carpooling with Jesus! Whether you’re riding to school, finishing breakfast, or just hanging at home, we’re so glad you’re here. Today’s story is about one of Jesus’ wildest miracles—and what it teaches us about trusting Him, even when life doesn't make sense.

Imagine Jesus hopping in the car, looking at you, and saying, “I see exactly what you need—even if you don’t know it yet.” That’s what today’s story is all about.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day:

John 9:6-7 “After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. ‘Go,’ he told him, ‘wash in the Pool of Siloam.’ So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.”

💡 What You'll Learn in This Episode:
  • Why Jesus used mud and spit to heal a blind man (yes, really!)

  • How this miracle was about more than just eyesight—it was about trust

  • Why Easter is the biggest miracle of all

  • How Jesus still sees your needs and helps in ways you might not expect

❤️ One Thing for the Ride:

Jesus sees your needs—and helps in ways you might not expect.

✨ What Would Jesus Say?

"I see you. I know what you need. Trust Me—even when it feels confusing."

26 Mar 2025March 26th: Forgiveness is for Everyone | Carpooling with Jesus00:04:23

👋 Welcome, Friends! Whether you're on your way to school, having breakfast, or hanging out at home, I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Pastor Justin, and today we’re talking about something really important—forgiveness.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day: "Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, ‘Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?’ Jesus answered, ‘I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.’" – Matthew 18:21-22

🌟 Big Idea: Forgiveness isn’t about counting how many times you forgive—it’s about always being ready to forgive. Letting go of anger and choosing kindness brings peace to your heart and helps you feel lighter.

💡 Story Recap:

  • Peter thought forgiving seven times was a lot—but Jesus said to forgive 77 times!
  • Jesus wasn’t saying to count each time—we’re called to forgive endlessly.
  • Forgiveness isn’t just about the other person—it frees your heart too.
  • When you forgive, you feel lighter, happier, and more at peace.

❤️ What Would Jesus Say? If Jesus were sitting with us, He’d say: "Forgiveness isn’t easy, but it brings peace. Let go of anger, and I will fill your heart with kindness and joy. Just like I forgive you, I want you to forgive others too."

🏆 Asher and Tony’s Story: Asher always picked Tony first for the team—but one day, Tony dropped the ball and the team lost. The next day, Asher didn’t pick Tony, which hurt Tony’s feelings. Tony’s mom reminded him that forgiveness is like a key that unlocks your heart. The next day, Tony forgave Asher, and they ended up having a great time together at recess. Forgiveness made them both feel better and strengthened their friendship.

🙏 Forgiveness in Our Lives: Next time someone hurts your feelings, remember what Jesus said—forgive, forgive, and forgive again. Forgiveness brings peace to your heart and helps you treat others with kindness.

🙌 Parent Tip: If you love this podcast, leave a rating and review—it helps other families join the conversation too!

📣 Question of the Day: Who is someone you can forgive today? How can you show them kindness?

👋 Hey Friends! Whether you’re heading to school, finishing up breakfast, or hanging out at home, I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Pastor Justin, and today we’re talking about King David, God’s amazing promise, and how it leads us to Jesus.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day: "Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever." – 2 Samuel 7:16

🌟 Key Takeaways for Kids & Parents:

  • God made a big promise to King David—his kingdom would last forever.
  • Jesus is the forever King from David’s family, and His love never ends.
  • You don’t have to be a king to be part of God’s family—Jesus loves and knows you personally!

👑 Bible Story: God’s Promise to David

  • David was a warrior, a king, and a man after God’s heart.
  • God told David that his throne would be established forever.
  • But David isn’t king today—so what did God mean?
  • He was pointing to Jesus! Jesus, from David’s family, is the forever King!

❤️ What Would Jesus Say? "You don’t have to be a king or queen to be part of my family. When you follow me, you’re part of something bigger because my love never ends. Just like God cared about David’s heart, I care about your heart too!"

🎵 Real-Life Lesson: Mia’s Story About Worship Mia loved to sing—not for attention, but to praise God. Before a big concert, her friend Emma got nervous. Mia encouraged her, saying, “Just sing for God, not for anyone else.” Emma later said that helped her feel brave. Mia’s love for God inspired others, just like David’s faith did!

08 Jan 2025January 8th: ‘Blessed Are the Humble’ – Learning Humility with Jesus | Carpooling with Jesus Podcast00:04:10

🚗 Carpooling with Jesus is back for another ride! 🎉 Imagine if Jesus joined you on the way to school—what advice would He give? Today, Pastor Justin explores Matthew 5:5 where Jesus says:

“Blessed are the humble, for they will inherit the earth.”

Humility might sound confusing at first, but it’s a big deal to Jesus. Let’s talk about what it means to be humble, why it’s important, and how we can live with humble hearts every day.

💡 Key Takeaways for Kids and Parents:

  • What does it mean to be humble?
    • It’s not thinking, “I’m the best!” or “It’s all about me!”
    • Humility is about putting others first, being kind, and not showing off.
  • Jesus was humble AND strong—humility doesn’t mean weakness. It means trusting God and living for Him instead of trying to push others down.
  • Practical Ways to Be Humble:
    • Let someone else have a turn first.
    • Help a friend without expecting anything in return.
    • Celebrate quietly when you do something awesome and thank God for your talents.

🌟 Challenge for the Week: Find one way to be humble at school, home, or with friends. Remember—Jesus sees your humble heart and promises amazing blessings when you live this way!

🗣 Car Ride Question: Why do you think Jesus says it’s a blessing to be humble and put others first?

🚗 Carpooling with Jesus is back! 🎉 Picture this: Jesus is joining your ride to school. What would He say when you’re feeling sad? In today’s episode (Day 2), Pastor Justin dives into Matthew 5:4:

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”

We all feel sad sometimes. Mourning is when we experience deep sadness, like when something hurts our feelings or we lose someone we care about. But here’s the beautiful promise: Jesus says we are blessed because God Himself will comfort us.

💡 Key Takeaways for Kids and Parents:

  • Mourning means feeling deep sadness, and that’s okay—Jesus understands because He felt sadness too.
  • God doesn’t leave us alone when we’re sad. He comforts us with His love and peace.
  • We can:
    • Pray: Tell God how we feel. “God, I’m sad today. Please comfort me.”
    • Lean on others: Talk to parents, teachers, or friends—they’re here to help.
    • Be there for others: When someone feels sad, a kind word, a listening ear, or just sitting with them can share God’s love.

👋 Hey Friends! Welcome to Carpooling with Jesus! I’m Pastor Justin, and today, we’re talking about something super important—what to do before making a big decision. Whether you're choosing a sport, where to sit at lunch, or how to solve a problem, today's Bible story about David teaches us to ask God first!

📖 Bible Verse of the Day: "So David inquired of the Lord, ‘Shall I go and attack the Philistines?’ The Lord answered, ‘Go, for I will surely deliver them into your hands.’" – 2 Samuel 5:19

🌟 Key Takeaways for Kids & Parents:

  • David didn’t rush into battle—he stopped and asked God first.
  • God sees the whole picture and guides us when we ask Him for help.
  • Jesus wants to help you with big and small decisions—just ask!

⚔️ Bible Story: David Seeks God’s Guidance

  • David had just become king, but the Philistines wanted to fight him.
  • Instead of rushing into battle, David prayed and asked God for direction.
  • God answered, and because David followed Him, he won the battle!
  • Jesus would have learned this story as a kid, and it’s a lesson for us too!

❤️ What Would Jesus Say? "Whenever you have a choice to make, talk to me first. I love helping you! You don’t have to figure everything out alone—ask your parents, teachers, and most of all, ask God!"

🧩 Real-Life Lesson: Beckett’s Story Beckett had two invitations for the same day—a birthday party and a Lego tournament. He felt stuck, but instead of picking randomly, he prayed and talked to his parents. The next morning, he found out the Lego store had another tournament next month! He was able to go to his best friend’s party and felt at peace. Beckett’s story is just like David’s—he didn’t figure it out alone, he asked God first!

Not all strength looks like Samson’s. 💪 Sometimes it's standing up for a friend, choosing kindness, or using your talents to bless someone else.

In today’s Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin shares the wild moment from Judges 14:6 when Samson tears apart a lion with his bare hands—powered not by muscles alone, but by the Spirit of God. 🦁⚡️ But here's the big idea: God gives us strength to do what He calls us to do.

24 Mar 2025March 24th: Honoring Your Parents | Carpooling with Jesus00:04:59

📖 Bible Verse of the Day: "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother'—this is the first commandment with a promise—'so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.'" – Ephesians 6:1-3

🌟 Big Idea: Honoring your parents isn’t just about doing chores—it’s about showing love, respect, and kindness. God promises that when we honor our parents, things will go well for us!

💡 What We Learned:

  • The Apostle Paul wrote Ephesians to encourage believers to live like Jesus and love others—including their family.
  • Honoring your parents means more than just obeying—it’s about showing love and respect even when it’s hard.
  • Jesus himself honored Mary and Joseph, even though He was the Son of God.
  • When we honor our parents, we’re not just making them happy—we’re making God happy too!

05 Mar 2025March 5th: Messing Up and Making Things Right | Carpooling with Jesus00:04:50

👋 Welcome, Friends! Whether you're in the car, having breakfast, or getting ready for homeschool, I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Pastor Justin, and today we’re talking about something we ALL experience—messing up.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day: "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." – Psalm 51:10

🌟 Big Idea: Even the greatest heroes of the Bible made big mistakes. But the best part? God is always ready to forgive us when we turn back to Him.

💡 Story Recap:

  • King David, the same shepherd boy who defeated Goliath, made a big mistake.
  • He sinned, tried to cover it up, and felt terrible about what he had done.
  • Instead of running away from God, he prayed and asked for forgiveness and a clean heart.
  • God forgave him and helped him make things right—just like He does for us!

❤️ What Would Jesus Say? If Jesus were sitting with us, He’d say: "Friend, everyone makes mistakes, even really big ones. But don’t ever think your mistake means I love you any less. When you mess up, don’t hide—come to me, ask for forgiveness, and I will wash your heart clean."

🏈 A Quick Story: Ethan was playing football at recess. He was so upset about losing that he lied about a touchdown. At first, he thought it was no big deal, but later, he realized he had hurt his friend’s feelings. Ethan prayed, asked God for forgiveness, and then made things right by telling the truth. His friend forgave him, and he felt so much better!

🎙️ Happy Easter from Carpooling with Jesus! Hey carpool crew! I’m Pastor Justin, and today we’re celebrating the biggest moment in our faith—Easter Sunday! Whether you're on your way to church in your Easter best, munching on cinnamon rolls, or holding a chocolate bunny in the car, I’m so glad you’re here.

This bonus episode is all about why Easter matters and how it changes everything—forever.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day:

Matthew 28:5-6 “The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.’”

💡 One Thing for the Ride:

Jesus is alive—and that changes everything.

✝️ What Happened on Easter Morning?

At sunrise, some women came to the tomb expecting to see Jesus’ body—but instead, they saw an empty tomb and an angel declaring the best news ever: 👉 Jesus isn’t dead. He’s alive—just like He promised!

Their sadness turned into celebration, and that same joy is ours today.

🕊️ What Does Resurrection Mean?

Jesus didn’t just come back to life—He was resurrected. That means He’ll never die again. His body was brand new, never to get sick or hurt. And guess what? One day, He promises we’ll be resurrected too, just like Him. That’s what Easter is all about: 🟣 Hope forever 🟢 Life forever 🟡 Jesus with us—always

🤔 Real Life Story:

When I was a kid, I found my Easter basket with a card taped on it that said, “Nothing is better than candy—except Jesus.” At the time, I laughed. Now? I totally get it. Nothing is better than the joy of knowing that Jesus is alive and loves us forever.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parent Tip:

After church, try asking your kids: 👉 “What’s one way we can celebrate that Jesus is alive—not just today, but every day?” Simple faith conversations turn Easter into a lifestyle—not just a holiday.

And if this podcast encouraged you, share it with another family to help them start a faith-filled Easter tradition too.

🥳 Let’s Celebrate:

Say it loud—He is risen! And respond—He is risen indeed! Because that’s more than a church tradition… it’s a truth that brings us hope every day.

13 Mar 2025March 13th: Noah’s Ark – Walking Faithfully with God | Carpooling with Jesus00:03:49

Hey friends! 🚗✨ Welcome to Carpooling with Jesus! Whether you're riding your bike to school, having breakfast, or heading to practice, I’m so glad you’re here. Today, we’re diving into one of the most incredible stories in the Bible—one that Jesus himself would have learned as a kid. It’s the story of Noah and the Ark! 🛳️🌧️

💡 Today’s Bible Verse: "Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God." – Genesis 6:9

🦁 Episode Highlights:

  • Noah lived in a time when people were making bad choices and turning away from God.
  • Unlike everyone else, Noah chose to follow God and obey Him.
  • God told Noah to build a giant boat—a huge ark—because a flood was coming.
  • Even though it had never rained like that before, Noah trusted God and did exactly what He said.
  • People laughed at Noah, but he remained faithful. When the flood came, he and his family were safe because he obeyed God.

🙌 Jesus’ Encouragement: If Jesus were sitting with us right now, He might say: "Noah trusted God even when others didn’t understand. That’s what I want for you. Sometimes doing the right thing isn’t always popular, but I will always be with you. Walk with me, just like Noah did, and I’ll lead you to amazing things."

📖 Real-Life Connection: Everly, a flag football player, faced a tough choice when she saw a teammate step out of bounds before scoring a touchdown. The referee missed it, and her team was celebrating. Everly knew telling the truth might cost them points, but she chose honesty. Some teammates were upset, but her coach told her, “I’m proud of you for doing the right thing.”

Just like Noah, Everly chose to do what was right, even when it was hard. And just like Noah, God saw her faithfulness.

💭 Family Discussion Question: What’s the number one fear you have about doing the right thing when it’s hard?

Hey friends! 🚗✨ Welcome back to Carpooling with Jesus! Whether you're on your way to school, finishing up breakfast, or taking a break from homeschooling, I’m so glad you’re here. This month, we’re talking about BIG moments from the Bible—stories that Jesus would have learned about when He was a kid. Today, we’re diving into a story about courage: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego standing up for what’s right!

💡 Today’s Bible Verse: "If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it." – Daniel 3:17

🔥 Episode Highlights:

  • King Nebuchadnezzar built a massive golden statue and demanded that everyone bow to it when the music played.
  • Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused because they only worshipped God.
  • The king was furious and threw them into a fiery furnace!
  • Instead of burning, they were completely unharmed—and a fourth figure, an angel, appeared with them!
  • The king was so amazed that he praised God and changed the law.

🙌 Jesus’ Encouragement: Jesus reminds us that standing up for what’s right isn’t always easy. It can feel lonely and even scary—but you are never alone! Just like He was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, He is with YOU too.

📖 Real-Life Story: Cannon’s school had a no-phones rule, but his friends started sneaking out of class. They pressured him to come along, but Cannon stood his ground and followed the rules. Later, when his friends got caught, one admitted, "I wish I had done what Cannon did." Even though Cannon wasn’t facing a fiery furnace, he faced peer pressure—and God was with him, just like He was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

25 Mar 2025March 25th: James Teaches Us Patience | Carpooling with Jesus00:04:06

👋 Welcome, Friends! Whether you're in the car, having breakfast, or heading off to practice, I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Pastor Justin, and today we’re talking about something we all struggle with—patience.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day: "Be patient then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rain. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near." – James 5:7-8

🌟 Big Idea: Patience isn’t just about waiting—it’s about trusting God’s timing. Just like a farmer waits for crops to grow, we need to trust that God is working, even when we can't see it.

💡 Story Recap:

  • James, Jesus's half-brother, wrote this letter to encourage believers to trust God, even when life is tough.
  • He compares patience to a farmer waiting for crops to grow—there's no rushing it!
  • When life doesn’t go how we expect, God is still working behind the scenes.
  • Patience means trusting God even when the outcome isn’t clear.

❤️ What Would Jesus Say? If Jesus were sitting with us right now, He might say: "Waiting isn’t easy, but it’s a way to show that you trust Me. I see the whole picture, and My timing is perfect. While you wait, I’m helping you grow."

🏆 Ellie’s Story: Ellie was excited about summer vacation, but when her dad had to work extra hours, their family trip got canceled. Ellie was disappointed, but instead of feeling upset, she decided to trust God. She helped her mom in the garden, played with her brothers, and found new ways to have fun at home. By the end of the summer, Ellie realized that waiting wasn’t about missing out—it was about trusting God’s plan.

🙏 Patience in Our Lives: Next time you’re stuck waiting—whether it’s for a fun event, your turn to play, or even an answer to a prayer—remember that patience means trusting God. Like the farmer waiting for crops, God is helping you grow while you wait.

🙌 Parent Tip: If you love this podcast, leave a rating and review—it helps other families join the conversation too!

📣 Question of the Day: What’s something you’re waiting for right now? How can you trust God while you wait?

🚗 Carpooling with Jesus is back with another exciting episode! Today, Pastor Justin shares what happened when Jonah found himself inside a huge fish for three days and three nights. Instead of panicking, Jonah did something powerful—he prayed. Let’s see what Jonah’s story teaches us about God’s mercy and forgiveness.

📖 Key Verses: Jonah 2:1-10 Jonah prayed from inside the fish, admitting his mistake and turning back to God. And guess what? God heard him and gave him a second chance! No matter how far we run or how many mistakes we make, God is always ready to forgive us when we turn back to Him.

14 Mar 2025March 14th: "Here Am I, Send Me" – Trusting God’s Big Plans | Carpooling with Jesus00:04:54

Hey friends! 🚗✨ Welcome to Carpooling with Jesus! Whether you’re in the car, having breakfast, or winding down for bed, I’m so glad you’re here. Today, we’re diving into a powerful story from the book of Isaiah—a story about saying YES to God, even when it feels big and scary.

💡 Today’s Bible Verse: "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’" – Isaiah 6:8

🔥 Episode Highlights:

  • Isaiah was a prophet chosen by God to share His messages with people.
  • One day, Isaiah had a vision of God on His throne, surrounded by angels. It was so incredible that Isaiah realized how small and imperfect he was.
  • But when God asked, “Who will go for us?”, Isaiah didn’t hesitate—he said, “Here am I, send me!”
  • Isaiah wasn’t the biggest, strongest, or smartest, but he trusted God and followed His call.
  • Jesus loves when we have a willing heart to say YES to God’s plans!

🙌 Jesus’ Encouragement: If Jesus were sitting next to you, He might say: "I love when you’re willing to say yes to what God asks you to do. You don’t have to be the biggest, strongest, or smartest—just trust in me, and I will help you. When you say, ‘Here am I, send me,’ you are showing great faith, and I will always be right beside you."

📖 Real-Life Connection: Imagine your teacher asks for a volunteer to read aloud in class. Your heart pounds, and you want to raise your hand—but what if you mess up? That’s how I felt as a kid (and sometimes still do!).

One day, I remembered Isaiah’s story. Instead of looking away, I took a deep breath, raised my hand, and read. I stumbled on a few words, but I did it! My teacher was proud, and so was my mom. I learned that saying YES to something scary can lead to something amazing.

💡 What About You? Is there something God is asking you to do? Maybe helping a friend, being kind to someone new, or standing up for what’s right?

🙏 Friday Prayer: "God, thank You for this week. Help us finish strong and bless our weekend with joy and rest. Amen."

03 Mar 2025March 3rd: Facing Giants with Faith | 🚗 Carpooling with Jesus00:04:57

Hey friends! Whether you’re in the car on the way to school, finishing up breakfast, getting ready for homeschool, or just hanging out at home—I’m so glad you’re here!

This month, we’re marching through Bible stories that Jesus would have learned when He was a kid. And today, we’re talking about something huge—GIANTS! Have you ever faced something that felt way too big to handle? Today’s story is all about how trusting God gives us the courage to overcome even the biggest challenges.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day: 💡 1 Samuel 17:45 – "You come against me with sword and spear, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty."

💬 What You'll Learn Today: ✅ How David faced his giant with faith, not fear ✅ Why trusting God gives us courage in scary situations ✅ How to stand strong when facing a big challenge in your own life

🏆 The Story of David & Goliath: David was just a young shepherd boy taking care of his sheep and delivering food to his brothers. But one day, he found himself standing in front of a huge warrior named Goliath. Goliath was over nine feet tall—basically like a walking building! Everyone was afraid, but not David. He knew that God was bigger than any giant.

When Goliath came at him with a giant sword and heavy spear, David didn’t back down. He said, "You come against me with sword and spear, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty." With just a slingshot and a single stone, David defeated Goliath—not because he was the strongest, but because he had faith.

If Jesus were sitting with us right now, I think He’d say: You don’t have to be the biggest, the strongest, or the fastest to win battles—you just have to trust that God is with you.

🚀 Challenge of the Day: Think about something in your life that feels big or scary—maybe a test at school, a problem with a friend, or something new you're trying. When you feel afraid, say: "God is bigger than this!"

📖 A Real-Life Example: My friend Cammy had a big test coming up. She was so nervous that she wanted to stay home! But then she remembered the story of David and Goliath. She prayed, took a deep breath, and reminded herself: God is bigger than my fear. And guess what? Even though she didn’t spell every word perfectly, she did her best—and that was enough.

Just like David trusted God, we can trust Him with the big challenges in our lives.

🙏 Short Prayer: "God, thank You for being bigger than my fears. Help me to trust You and have courage in every challenge I face. Amen."

27 Feb 2025February 27th: Power of Letting Others Shine | Carpooling with Jesus00:05:02

🚗 Why did the humble tomato turn red? Because it saw the salad dressing! 😂 That’s a good one! Today on Carpooling with Jesus, we’re diving into the Bible to learn about humility—what it really means and why God loves it when we lift others up instead of seeking attention for ourselves.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day:

💡 James 4:10 – "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you."

💬 What You'll Learn Today:

✅ What humility really means and why it matters to God ✅ How choosing to let others shine makes us more like Jesus ✅ Real-life ways to practice humility at school, home, and with friends

👤 Who Was James?

James wasn’t just anyone—he was Jesus’ half-brother! At first, he didn’t understand who Jesus was, but later, he became a huge leader in the early church and wrote the book of James in the New Testament.

🌟 What Does It Mean to Be Humble?

Humility isn’t about putting yourself down—it’s about lifting others up. When we focus on celebrating others instead of making everything about us, God sees that—and He promises to bless us in His way and in His time.

🚀 Challenge of the Day:

This week, be a spotlight for someone else. Celebrate a friend's success, encourage a sibling, or choose to lift others up instead of seeking attention for yourself.

02 Apr 2025April 2nd: Why Did Jesus Have to Die? (The Answer Every Kid Should Hear) | Carpooling with Jesus00:02:54

👋 Hey Friends! Welcome to Carpooling with Jesus — the 5-minute podcast that turns your car rides, breakfast table, and family time into faith-filled moments.

In today’s episode, Pastor Justin is diving into a big, important question: 👉 Why did Jesus have to die?

It’s a question many kids wonder about — and the answer is beautiful, powerful, and full of hope.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day

Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

💡 In This Episode:
  • What sin does and how Jesus fixed it

  • Why Jesus chose to die (it wasn’t an accident!)

  • How Jesus’ death brings us close to God

  • Emma’s classmate Carissa and the story of second chances

🧠 Key Takeaway for Kids:

Jesus died for you because He loves you—even before you got anything right. And He rose again so you can live with Him forever.

💬 What Would Jesus Say?

✏️ Carissa’s Story:

Carissa forgot to study for her math test and failed. She felt awful. But her teacher gave her a second chance—and even offered to help her study. That’s a lot like what Jesus does for us: ✅ We mess up. ✅ He steps in. ✅ He offers us grace, love, and a fresh start.

🙌 Living It Out:
  • Talk to Jesus when you mess up—He already paid the price.

  • Thank Him for loving you before you ever got it right.

01 Apr 2025April 1st: God’s Foolish Plan?! Why the Cross Didn’t Make Sense (But Saved the World) | Carpooling with Jesus00:03:17

👋 Hey Friends! Welcome to Carpooling with Jesus — the 5-minute podcast that helps kids and families grow in faith during everyday moments. Today’s episode lands on April Fool’s Day, but we’re skipping the pranks and diving into something truly surprising: the “foolishness” of God.

Wait, what?! Don’t worry—it’s not what it sounds like. Let’s find out what the Bible really means.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day

1 Corinthians 1:25 – “For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.”

💡 In This Episode:
  • Why God’s ways sometimes seem confusing

  • Why the cross looked foolish to the world—but was actually God’s perfect plan

  • How Colby’s “missed race” became a moment to help others

  • What Jesus would say to us when things don’t make sense

💬 Jesus Says:

"People don’t always understand the way I do things. I came to serve, not to be served — and that seemed strange. But God’s ways are always best, even when they don’t make sense at first."

🧠 Key Takeaway for Kids:

Even when things seem confusing or silly, God’s plan is always bigger and better.

🏃 Colby’s Story:

Colby thought he was going to run a race—but ended up helping instead. Here’s what happened: ✅ He lent shoes to a friend ✅ He helped someone who got hurt ✅ He encouraged others and made a great memory 👉 Sometimes the “foolish” choice turns out to be the wise one.

🙌 Living It Out:
  • God’s wisdom is different than the world’s

  • When things feel upside down, trust God’s plan

  • Ask: “Could this be part of something bigger?”

❓ Question of the Day:

What’s something that seems silly... but might actually be wise? Talk about it as a family before the ride ends!

16 Apr 2025April 16th: Jesus Washed Feet?! What Real Love Looks Like | Carpooling with Jesus00:04:08

🎙️ Welcome to Carpooling with Jesus! Hey carpool crew! Imagine Jesus riding along with you and, before you hop out of the car, He kneels down to help you tie your shoes. That’s the kind of love He showed at the Last Supper when He washed His friends’ feet. Today, we’re diving into one of the most surprising and powerful lessons Jesus ever gave—real love serves others.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day:

John 13:14-15 “Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.”

💡 What You'll Learn in This Episode:
  • Why Jesus washed His disciples’ feet—and what that meant

  • What real love looks like in action

  • Simple ways you can serve others today

  • How small choices to help others reflect the heart of Jesus

❤️ One Thing for the Ride:

Jesus showed us real love by serving others—and we can do the same.

✨ What Would Jesus Say?

"If I can serve by washing feet, you can serve by loving others in the small things."

🧼 Quick Recap:

Jesus, the King of Kings, washed dusty, stinky feet to show His disciples what serving love really looks like. And He told them—and us—to go and do the same. It might be picking up trash, helping a classmate, or letting someone else go first. Serving doesn’t have to be big to be meaningful. It just has to be real.

❓ Question of the Day:

What’s one way you can serve someone today like Jesus did?

17 Mar 2025March 17th: Trusting God Even When Things Don’t Go Your Way | Carpooling with Jesus00:04:59

Hey friends, welcome back to Carpooling with Jesus! I’m Pastor Justin, and today we’re talking about God’s plan for your life.

Have you ever had a big dream—like being an artist, a scientist, or the fastest runner on your street? Joseph had big dreams too, but things didn’t go the way he expected.

📖 Genesis 37:9 – "Then he had another dream and told it to his brothers..."

Joseph’s dream showed him as a leader, but his brothers got jealous and didn’t believe it. Sometimes, when we share our dreams, not everyone understands. But if God gives you a dream, He will bring it to life at the right time!

If Jesus were sitting with us right now, He’d say: I see your dreams. Even when things don’t go your way, trust me—God’s plan for your life is good.

This reminds me of my friend Brittany. She wanted to be dance team captain but wasn’t picked. She almost quit, but she kept working hard. Later, when the team needed a new leader, the coach chose her! She didn’t get what she wanted right away, but God had a better plan.

So, if something isn’t going your way, don’t give up—God is still working!

🎙 Question to talk about: What’s one big dream you have for your life?

See you next time on Carpooling with Jesus! 🚗✨

28 Feb 2025February 28th: Trusting God Like David | Carpooling with Jesus00:05:22

🚗 Welcome back, friends! Today on Carpooling with Jesus, we’re talking about one of my favorite Bible stories—the story of David and Goliath! This story meant so much to me as a kid that I read it every time I was away from home at a sleepover.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day:

💡 1 Samuel 17:45 – "You come against me with a sword, spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord of armies, the God of Israel's forces, whom you have defied."

💬 What You'll Learn Today:

✅ How David faced his giant with faith, not fear ✅ Why God is always bigger than any challenge you face ✅ How to trust God with the giants in your own life—whether it’s a big test, a tough game, or something scary at school

🏆 The Story of David & Goliath:

David wasn’t a soldier—he was just a young shepherd. But when he heard the giant Goliath challenging Israel, he didn’t back down. Instead of being afraid, David trusted God and stepped forward with only a slingshot. While Goliath laughed, David knew something important: God is bigger than any giant! With one stone, David defeated Goliath, proving that faith in God is stronger than any battle we face.

🚀 Challenge of the Day:

Think about something in your life that feels too big or too scary right now. A test? A presentation? Trying something new? Remember, God is with you, just like He was with David. When you feel afraid, say: "God is bigger than this!"

🙏 Short Friday Prayer:

"God, thank You for this week. Help us finish strong today and bless our weekend with joy and rest. Amen."

03 Apr 2025April 3rd: Why Did Jesus Pray? (And What That Means for You) | Carpooling with Jesus00:02:59

👋 Hey Friends! Welcome to Carpooling with Jesus — the quick, fun, faith-based podcast for kids and families on the go. Whether you're driving to school, having breakfast, or just hanging out at home, we’re so glad you’re here!

Today, Pastor Justin is answering a question lots of kids (and adults!) wonder about: 👉 If Jesus is God… why did He pray?

Great question. Let’s find out together.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day

Luke 22:42 – "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."

This verse is one of the most powerful prayers Jesus ever prayed. Right before He was arrested, He cried out to God—and trusted Him completely.

💡 In This Episode:
  • Why Jesus, even as God’s Son, still prayed

  • What prayer means (it’s not about fancy words!)

  • How we can talk to God anytime, anywhere

  • Jake’s story about his nervous swim meet—and a simple prayer that made all the difference

💬 What Would Jesus Say?

"I prayed because I needed to stay close to God. And I want you to pray too. You don’t need fancy words — just talk to God like a best friend because He’s always listening."

🏊 Jake’s Story:

Jake was nervous before his first swim meet. What if he messed up? His dad reminded him: “Just pray.” So Jake whispered a simple prayer: "God, I’m nervous. Help me do my best." And guess what? He felt peace—and swam with confidence. Prayer helped him remember: God was with him.

🙌 Living It Out:
  • Jesus prayed to stay close to His Father.

  • We can pray too—when we’re scared, thankful, excited, or confused.

  • You don’t need big words—just an open heart.

❓ Question of the Day:

What’s something you can pray about today? Before you jump out of the car, take a moment to share with your family!

📣 Parent Tip:

Loving this podcast? Share it with another family you know. Big faith starts with small, honest conversations—just like this one.
