20 Jan 2023Ravi Rajani: Ditch Feature Telling for Story Selling00:53:41

Does storytelling work in sales? If not, why? If yes how do you use it effectively? Our guest today is Ravi Rajani, Founder at Ravi Rajani Consulting & Host of The Influential Communicator Podcast. Ravi's exportise is in generating sales through the use of storytelling.

Ravi is a sales and communication expert who helps B2B sales teams ditch the pitch and become better communicators so they can get their solution in the hands of those who need it the most. His journey to this career began in 1997, when his family took a trip to Tanzania and he first picked up a camcorder and began narrating their safari in his best David Attenborough voice. From that moment on, he was hooked on performing and feeling invincible on stage. Despite not having the grades for a career in medicine or law, Ravi excelled in the world of theatre as a teenager.

After business school in London, Ravi had a successful career on the trading floor, but eventually felt drained and out of alignment. In August 2016, he decided to press eject and went on a journey to remove his mask and reclaim his story. Through a variety of experiences, including TV, speaking, coaching, and building sales teams in the world of early stage startups, Ravi realized that success and failure in sales is dependent on one's ability to communicate their value, story, and solution in a memorable way.

Ravi now helps others capture their customer's attention, build trust, and sell more with story. He currently lives just outside of London with his wife Sophie, daughter Zara, and dog Nellie.

We regularly talk about selling the way people want to buy.  In that training we highlight 4 distinctly different buyer profiles. However, Ravi takes that information and breaks down how he would approach those people and still get to the story that people are more likely to base their buying motives off of.

Sit back and enjoy this unvarnished heart-to-heart with two passionate people who just want to bring value to the people that they serve.

20 Mar 2023#Rapidfire 2: Relationship Building, Commission Breath and the Salesmen Baseball Card00:21:43

In this episode of "Building Great Sales Teams," the host Doug delivers a rapid-fire solo episode where he covers three major topics that every salesperson should know about.

The first topic Doug discusses is relationship building. As a salesperson, building strong relationships with your customers is crucial for success. Doug likely goes over strategies and tips on how to connect with prospects, build trust, and maintain positive relationships with customers over time.

The second topic he mentions is commission breath. This is a term used to describe salespeople who are too focused on making the sale and earning their commission, rather than genuinely helping their customers. It's important for salespeople to balance their desire to earn commissions with their desire to provide value to their customers.

Lastly, Doug talks about the importance of keeping track of your metrics as a salesperson. This includes tracking your sales performance, setting goals, and measuring your progress. By regularly monitoring your metrics, you can identify areas where you need to improve and adjust your approach accordingly.

Overall, it seems like this episode is aimed at providing practical advice and insights for salespeople looking to improve their skills and achieve greater success in their role.

26 Aug 2022Jacob Stahler: Mentor Mentality, Part 100:47:45

Jacob Stahler fancies himself as a disruptor. Not just for "markets" he participates in but within general mindset or even business itself. As times change, so do approaches when it comes to marketing, staff management, client engagement, training, etc. Prior to owning his own businesses and doing his own things, Jacob was chasing the C Suite at companies he would help take to market. He helped make many people rich who would then destroy their companies from the inside by just being lazy and greedy.

Jacob always felt businesses focused heavily on coaching brand specific "how to" things versus trying to figure out how to unlock the employees and create an army of high performers. A script can be a tool, but they aren't meant to be recited like a robot. There are better ways to coach communication for success in client interactions, this includes the service side. Sales don't matter if you can't service the clients.

"I am one of the most unorthodox, off centered thinking people I have met. But this would just be inline with being a disruptor. I like to shake things up." ~ Jacob Stahler
