26 Mar 2023Anadi James in Conversation with Julia Chi about intentional dialogue as the bedrock to relating consciously00:30:53

In this podcast Julia  has a conversation with her husband Anadi about being conscious in relating, with the bedrock of this being Intentional Dialogue.

Intentional Dialogue which was created by Harville Hendrix and Helen Hunt to help couple relate consciously.

Intentional dialogue keeps the space clean and clear between anyone in a conversation
We often don’t realise how little we are listening to our partner, children, friends or colleagues but are listening instead to our own internal response.

We need to fully hear the message a person is sending so that they will feel deeply heard.

The realisation that you accurately understand someone is wonderful for them and a growth experience for you, even if you do not agree with them!

One of the most effective forms of healing communication between persons in any intimate relationship, or in fact in any relationship is the intentional dialogue.

It consists of three steps: mirroring, validation, and empathy.

Practicing these steps will feel awkward at first as well as difficult. But as you practice, the lines between each step slowly dissolve and you move from practicing dialogical to it becoming a natural way of communicating.

Dialogue helps us understand the unique inner world of the person you are in dialogue with. We learn to see how their world works for them and so create and maintain connection, rather than misunderstanding each other or in conflict.

Here is the poem that Tim wrote at 16 years old, mentioned in the podcast

The Hour Glass of Life

The sand falls fast, in the hour glass
For the balding man about town.
His youthful grin, his middle aged chin,
Are replaced with a nod and a frown.

He has searched for the meaning of life,
In a video, TV and wife.
He has climbed the rungs of success,
And always gave of his best.

But the sand falls faster now,
And still he struggles on,
Until his pills or his iron will,
Or his Ford Cortina are gone.

And what use is that video now,
And by how much is he cleverer,
Than the farmer’s wife, the miner’s son
Or death, the perfect leveller?

In this podcast, Julia Chi and Anadi James have a conversation about Consciously relating and what this means and looks like...

This is a definition of Conscious relationship:
'Conscious Relating involves becoming aware of how the imprints of your past experiences inform your current relationship patterns, learning tools to relate consciously from a place of safety and trust, and embracing challenges as doorways to inner growth and transformation'.

Julia and Anadi met in 2012 and have been in a Conscious relationship ever since...

25 May 2023Anadi and Julia in Conversation about how our 'Social construction' affects our lives....00:40:50

In this podcast Julia and Anadi talk about systemic therapy and social construction and how this can help people understand themselves better, and see the wider picture in terms of how they define themselves in their families, friendship groups and in society as a whole.

By asking questions that are circular rather than linear it is possible to open the view of difficult situations and discover that solutions can be found - and the possibility of a brighter future where problems have previously seemed unresolvable and stuck.

But as always we return to the core of it all, our own responsibility to be the change we want to see!

01 Jun 2023Anadi and Julia in conversation about creating our lives consciously00:28:41

90 - 95% of all we do is coming from the subconscious mind... Julia and Anadi explore how the routines before sleep and upon waking help with clearing throughout the day and maintaining presence to create  from a place of stillness, free of unconscious patterns and programmes

07 Jun 2023'To thine own self be true'- Anadi and Julia in conversation about 'How...'00:37:51

In this podcast, Anadi and Julia explore this, covering areas such as how much we are influenced by our conditioning that we may be living by default having lost the ability to hear our own true inner voice...

And how to begin to listen again...

16 Jun 2023Julia and Anadi in conversation about being present and intentional in every moment00:48:09

In this podcast Julia and Anadi explore intentional dialogue in more depth, and talk about how it is the bedrock of being present in  every moment in every interaction.

Through a commitment to take responsibility for ourselves and our reactivities, we can play our part in keeping 'the space between' - where all relating exists - safe and harmonious and expansive.

22 Jun 2023Julia Chi exploring 'The Space Between'...00:21:43

In this podcast, Julia talks about how all relationships exist in 'the space between' us,
and how we can make a difference to the quality of the relating by being mindful of what we put into that space...

What we say and do can heal or hurt the space, create harmony or conflict...

30 Jun 2023Relationship as a mirror - Julia and Anadi in conversation00:48:06

In this podcast Julia and Anadi engage in a dialogue of exploration about 'Relationship as a mirror'...

They talk about how the closer the relationship is the closer the mirror is for us to see ourselves reflected back - it can become a magnifying glass!

And often when what we see, we don't like, we 'project' the un wanted  or unknown or unseen aspects of ourself onto the other...

Anything that we do not know about ourselves is in the shadows; and anything that is hidden or lost or we deny in ourselves is in the shadow - 'stuff' in the shadows has the potential to hurt us - as it will keep appearing in our relating!

In the podcast Anadi and Julia explore this and also talk about how to discover, work with and so transform what is lying is in the shadows...

And - the person who wrote about the four questions was Byron Katie
Is it true?
Is it really true?
What would I be like without that thought?
What if I turned it around?

06 Jul 2023Part 1 of a conversation about... 'If it doesn't challenge you it wont change you...'00:29:09

This is part 1 of a dialogue of exploration between Julia and Anadi about the idea that 'If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you...'

In this podcast Anadi and Julia explore the concepts of challenge and change, and whether we need to do either?

They discuss investigating our own personal paradigm - our own map of how we see the world - to discover what is right for us and whether our beliefs and ideas are truly our own.

They explore the idea of being out of our comfort zone and whether this is necessary for growth...

Next week, they will continue the conversation...

16 Jul 2023Part 2 - 'If it doesn't challenge you it won't change you'00:33:09

In this podcast, Julia and Anadi explore further the idea :
'If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you' ...
They discuss whether in being outside our comfort zone, we can discover inner strengths and attain skills we didn't know we were capable of.

Julia and Anadi also investigate resilience and explore how this aspect can be developed to enable us to discover and enjoy new experiences, and suggest that without resilience we may never have 'follow through' and so gain the benefits the challenges, and being 'outside our comfort zone' might bring.

24 Jan 2021Bodhisattva Conversations With Gillian Alexander00:59:22

It was wonderful to talk with Gillian Alexander - to be in the space together discovering what would unfold.

She spoke about her life and her work which are integral, and her sacred touch...
Sacred Touch is a sacred space of unconditional love and safety where Gillian supports all who come to her to explore who they are in a way that goes beyond the persona that they dare to share with the world; space where everyone is honoured, loved and accepted just as they are.

'Gillian works in a unique way that would best be described as both shamanic and tantric, to support you as you are in the moment to come back into your own Power, Alignment and Sovereignty.

Much of what she does is to support you to let go of attachment that draws your power and energy: attachment to past and future, attachment to expectation, and to come into the present and to start fully living. This can also entail letting go of physical, mental and emotional pain, and clearing any energies or issues which are not serving you'

The Bavard Bar website describes him thus

'Tim is the genial compere and host of the Bavard Bar. An all round passionate guy, in a previous life Tim believes he may have been a lawyer. However there is no evidence to support this belief, so it may simply be delusional. Late last Wednesday, using a complex system of algorithms and assorted 18th century medical paraphernalia, Tim changed his name to ‘Tim B’vard’. It is arguable that this change may also be delusional. As well as illegal.'
