Overcome worry, anxiety, fear, the need to impress others and more when you fully trust in the Lord. It is not easy but the steps to reliance on Him are simple. 

 

Here’s the 3 critical steps to Trust God Everyday.

 

What Does Trusting God Mean?

 

How do you trust God? How do you trust guide in all areas of your life? That’s what we’re going to talk about today and I’m going to share with you three steps on how you can trust God in your health and in other areas of your life as well. I’m a net reader. The Biblical nutritionist, I just want to thank you for joining me is with this video, there is so much that I want to teach you.. 

 

Why You Should Put Your Trust in God

 

You know, when I struggled with my health, it was a long, arduous journey and it was a journey that God tried to show me answers, but I wasn’t listening. I had other excuses that I was paying attention to more. And so those years of neglecting my trust in him with my health, it cost me, it cost me a lot. It cost me years of being overweight, years of being just, um, feeling like I was unworthy because of my overweightness. Well, I want to share with you that God knew everything I was going through and God knows what you’re going through. He knows about the rape, he knows about the incest, he knows about the dieting, the bingeing and the purging. He knows about your diagnosis. He knows about the struggles that you’ve been going through. 

 

So today I want to share with you why trusting God matters and how to build your trust in him. Now listen to me. God knew when I was struggling that I was dealing with depression. I was eating, I was eating beyond what I should. He knew about my family problems. He knew about all of that and he still says in it, lean on me. 

 

Right now, it may not seem natural to trust God. In fact, it probably won’t because it’s a discipline that you learn because it’s a discipline that says, no. Wait a minute and I’m not going to worry about this. I’m going to trust God because worry is the opposite of trusting God and we’ve already, all of us have spent enough time worrying to last our entire lifetime. So God says, don’t worry about this. I’ve got it. Just trust me. You know what? When you trust God with your health, it may not even make sense to you, your family or your doctor. 

Proverbs 3.:5-6 says Trust in the Lord with all your heart, here’s 3 Steps on How to Trust God Completely

 

Step one is to learn to lean not on your understanding and start listening to him. 

 

Let go of what you think and listen to him. Trusting God frees your mind to see what God sees. Trusting God will free you because our vision is limited. And I am not in any way saying stop treatment. Stop Medicine. Any of that does stops you. I’m not. But I’m just saying, trust God with your health. Follow his principles. He has clearly outlined the principles to live a healthy life in scripture, but most of those principles are ignored today and we go surfing the Internet to find something to replace it. I’m not saying to stop what you’re doing, I’m just seeing to stop leaning on your understanding of what is taking place and start leaning to him.

 

Step two, acknowledge him. 

 

Isiah 55 says My ways are higher than your ways, this makes trusting so much easier, okay, scripture says back to our verse in proverbs, it says in all your ways acknowledge him. God is the only one who heals. Medicine does not heal. Food does not heal. God is the only one who heals. Now can he choose to use medicine to help you get better? Can he use food to help yourselves to get the nutrients that they need? Of course, but realize God is the one who created you and God is the one who heals you. So in everything in everything acknowledge him. And as we learn to lean on him, as we learn to acknowledge him, it’s easier to trust him. 

 

Step three is follow his direction. 

 

The scripture says he will direct your path. He will tell you what to do. That’s just it. We don’t have to be confused. Caught up into this. Um, this windstorm of nutrition information and health information. It’s, it’s, it’s crazy. It’s like a hurricane of information. Trust God. He will tell you what to do. Many people that are watching this right now have a food identity issue. You equate food with comfort, love and stability. Food has no arms. Food has no feet. If food has no ability to say, I love you, here’s what I want you to get. We need to stop going to food and trusting food to be there. It’s there. The more we trust food to save us, the more food starves us from the love that our father wants to show us. Okay, I’m going to say that one more time because this is good. Encouraging Bible Message - Understanding Bible Verses about Food for the Soul

 

It's time for another taste and see moment, and that's where we go into God's word. We read the stories and we see how God uses food to teach us a story or a lesson. Because so many circumstances in scripture were dealt with the fact of food for God to get our attention. 

 

Recognizing Bible Verses about Food and Satisfaction

 

Here’s something I want you to try with your family members at the dinner table, when you read the scripture together, and if you don't, I challenge you to start because your family will be changed in ways food could never change. 

And as you read the stories and scripture, I want you to come up with some signs. Every time you read a word that deals with food, you say “Yum”. That’s something you can do to be more aware of the times food is mentioned in the Bible that teaches us lessons on contentment and satisfaction.

 

Bible Verses on Contentment - What the Bible Says about Being Content

 

The following are Bible verses and biblical stories with lessons on satisfaction and contentment through food… And don’t forget to say out loud the signal word “Yum” when you read these to your family!

 

  1. “At mealtime Boaz said to her, “Come over here. Have some bread and dip it in the wine vinegar.” (Ruth 2:14)

 

  1. “So Ruth gleaned in the field until evening. Then she threshed the barley she had gathered, and it amounted to about an ephah.[a] 18 She carried it back to town, and her mother-in-law saw how much she had gathered. Ruth also brought out and gave her what she had leftover after she had eaten enough…” (Ruth 2:17)

 

  1. “For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” (Psalm 107:9)

 

  1. “So Boaz said to Ruth, “My daughter, listen to me. Don’t go and glean in another field and don’t go away from here. Stay here with the women who work for me. 9 Watch the field where the men are harvesting, and follow along after the women. I have told the men not to lay a hand on you. And whenever you are thirsty, go and get a drink from the water jars the men have filled.” (Ruth 2:8)

 

  1. “So Ruth stayed close to the women of Boaz to glean until the barley and wheat harvests were finished.” (Ruth 2:23)

 

  1. Naomi took her sons in the Moabite area and they married Moabite women when they are of age. And then after 10 years, her sons died and Naomi lost her husband. And so she decided to go back to the land of Bethlehem because she heard that God has visited there and brought food.

 

So be satisfied in that experience and practice satisfaction and contentment by knowing that God wants to do amazing things in your life. Instead of always looking for something new that man has come up with, always remember that only God's word will make you happy. That is the secret to spiritual contentment. Just the understanding that God dwells in you will suffice to keep you satisfied.

And that's the good news. So be careful that we don't give away something of value, which could be God's word.

Don't give away God's word for something man is trying to teach you otherwise.

Hey Biblical nutritionist can you refer any cheaper options for milling your own grain? $200-$400 is not my price of affordability at this time in my life; and I'm sure there are others who can relate who would like to eat healthily and process their own food. Do you have any recommendations that are $100 and under? The most I would spend is $150-$180 max. Or if there are nonmechanical ways to mill grain that would be excellent too!! (Justin Bennett)

1. I have been thinking about Daniel fast for the past 2 to 3 weeks. My health is not doing too well and I just recently had a baby and I’m a little bit overweight. But I keep running into People that have talked about spiritual tiredness how it has brought them closer to God and has helped them with their health problems most of our health problem begins in the gut which is the food that we eat I am sure that the people in the Bible and how he intended for us to eat to prevent certain diseases. Prediabetes is reversible. This is why you need to be feeding your gut and consume more fiber in your diet.

For healthy eating, about 1 cup of kale per day is great for you. Eat it raw in your salads or put it in your smoothies, dehydrate it, juice it… You can also cook it. In fact, I have a few kale recipes here that you might want to check out

3. I struggle a lot with negative hopeless thinking. I think it’s mainly due to anxiety since childhood, trauma and long term health problems. I get thoughts like “My health keeps getting worse no matter what I do, why bother?”. I also realised through your 7 steps that I don’t believe God loves me and I disliked saying my own name a lot in the activity where you put your own name into bible verses. Saying my name makes me think of myself when I was a child, and that’s a negative image with negative feelings. I was just typing this right before you started talking about personalizing bible verses. I didn’t know you were going to be talking about that in this video, but I read about it in your 7 steps yesterday. Thanks for pointing these things out and helping people see where they’re stumbling the most. (Bye Bye Belly)

This episode of The Biblical Nutritionist Podcast will open your eyes to how drastically our food has changed—and what you can do to reclaim your health. Let’s dive into the difference between the wholesome foods God created and the processed, nutrient-deficient options dominating modern diets.

How Modern Food Differs from Biblical Nutrition

In Genesis, God called seed-bearing plants and clean meats “good,” providing us with balanced, natural sources of nourishment. Fast forward to today, and much of what we consume barely resembles those original foods.

Modern food has been:

Highly Processed: Stripped of nutrients and filled with additives that harm our bodies.

Genetically Modified: Altered in ways that disconnect us from the natural balance God designed.

Over-Refined: Grains lose fiber, minerals, and vitamins, resulting in empty calories.


What the Bible and Science Say About Healthy Eating

Dr. Rex Russell’s three principles for eating biblically sound foods can help us cut through dietary confusion:

1. Eat What God Called Good: Focus on whole, unprocessed foods like fruits, vegetables, grains, and clean meats.


2. Consume Foods in Their Natural State: Avoid over-refining or over-processing.


3. Avoid Food Idolatry: Don’t let cravings or diet trends dominate your choices.

 

Modern science supports these principles. Research shows that nutrient-dense, whole foods improve digestion, immunity, and mental health, while processed foods contribute to inflammation, obesity, and chronic illness.

What You Can Do to Protect Your Health

1. Go Back to Basics: Choose foods as close to their natural form as possible. Replace store-bought bread with fresh-milled flour or whole grains.


2. Learn Proper Preparation: Soak beans, sprout grains, and eat foods in traditional ways that minimize harmful compounds like lectins or phytic acid.


3. Avoid Additives and Preservatives: Read labels and prioritize foods free of artificial ingredients.

 

By aligning your diet with God’s design, you can nourish your body and soul while avoiding the pitfalls of modern food.

If there is a magic food that helps you have more muscle strength, helps your nervous system and protects your heart? Would you want to discover it?

Today I want to share the value of dates. Dates is another one of those foods that I did not consume growing up and I did not raise my children on dates. Once again. I need to go back 20 years and start over, but as I studied more and more about the biblical foods and how God designed our body, this is a food we need to pay attention to. In scripture it talks about in Deuteronomy how they would have honey. The promised land would have honey. Well, it's been proven through the research that the honey they're talking about is a date honey.

God's foods are a balance and that's what keeps us healthy, so yes, there's a sugar content in dates, but the fiber and the protein are going to offset it. This is not going to cause harm to diabetes. They have a nutritious load of vitamins and minerals. In fact, they've been awarded the perfect food for muscle strength. They can correct stomach disorders and their nervous system balanced and a heart protector.

Are Boundaries biblical in our health?

What are three questions you can ask to see if you are eating within biblical boundaries?

Now I know you have boundaries in different areas of your life. I know you have set boundaries in your marriage, boundaries in your home, life, boundaries at work.

You have to follow these rules at work if you want to stay employed, but what about your health, and what about Biblical boundaries in your health?

This is a very interesting subject and I am so happy to get to talk to you about it today. Well, we're also going to cover the food topic as well.

Think about your children. You set boundaries for your kids. Okay. They need to stay out a certain time. If they were old enough for that type of boundary, they needed to clean their room.

But what about our health? How do we recognize the boundaries that we need in our health or as Christians? Do we really need boundaries?

Some people say that this body that God has given us, we can do what we want to with it. And I know people aren't really thinking that, but that's what they're saying. They don't want boundaries on their eating. They think, “I'm a Christian, I'm saved by grace. I can do what I want. I can eat as much as I want.”

Three Steps to Make Healthy Life Changes and Transform Your Health

So here are three steps to start your day - healthy morning habits that will change your life. I want to share with you, how you can totally take that first most important step ever to transform your health.

Okay, so let's go on step number one. This is so, so important to your day to help you have that health transformation and also a spiritual transformation because what we think, we believe, what we think defines who we are.

The first thing you need to do is when you wake up in the morning, start your day with just a few seconds of thinking about what is, what am I happy about today? If I were to say, you know, before my feet even hit the floor, stay to yourself. What makes today special?

Now, I will admit there have been times I wake up and it's like, oh, I have to go to work again today or I have to do this, this, and this. Or, Oh, I have to talk to that person today.

Okay, these aren't current thoughts, so just don't get worried about me. But you know, those are thoughts I've had in the past. But today when you wake up and before your feet hit the floor, I want you to make one, two or three statements to yourself of what makes today's special. This is the best daily routine for healthy life.

Today I get to see my body continue to transform into be in the body that God's designed today. I get to meet New People and and share Christ either by just saying hello or you know, however that pans out or today I get the chance to be available for God to use me thinking those thoughts, thinking those thoughts can be so much of a shift change. It's like changing the channel on the TV from going to those negative thoughts. Oh, I have to do this, this and this today. Instead you're thinking, oh, I get to do this, this and this.

Number two, start your meals. 

It is good to know this as this can reveal information about how we can help address your food craving issues. This is how we can also jumpstart our day and our life 

Now I know if you've been a Christian very long, you know to pray before you eat, but sometimes it just becomes a rote thing that we do instead of actually transforming our thoughts to God, thank you for this meal and if you've been following my teachings and you know what to put on the dinner table, you have even more reasons to be grateful.

Another healthy morning routine is this - Start your meals with appreciation, not just prayers that we've been saying over and over and over for years, but just sincere appreciation and make sure you're, you're sitting at a table and you're eating your lunch, not eating at your desk, not eating in the car, but allow yourself time to just sit and be aware of what God has blessed you with, even if it's just carrots and hummus or celery sticks.

Yes, you CAN become healthy and well naturally! 

Number three is to start your work for the day. Now that should help you have a healthy day. Realizing it's not about the job that God has given you to do. It's about the people that you're going to interact with. Now, for some of us who work at home, that's kind of a challenge because we don't always interact with people and so we sometimes have to be a little bit more aggressive and going out and, and going to the store and just saying hello to the person who is at the checkout counter, just saying hello to someone in the aisle. It opens doors to sharing Christ and really the bottom line. That's why we're here. So let's go back. The first step of your health transformation, which is going to be both physical and spiritual.

So the first step of a total health transformation physically and spiritually is awareness. Becoming aware of what you're thinking and what you're doing. Become aware of who you are and how much God loves you

It’s my honor and my blessing to be your nutritionist, your biblical nutritionist and help you understand how your body works, how to buy healthy foods and just how to have an amazing life.

I teach in the treasures of Healthy Living Bible study to follow three principles. And those principles are to eat the foods that God called food for us. And number two is to eat those foods that are close to the way he designed.

Well, that kind of gets a little questionable when we look at the word glyphosate.

What is Glyphosate? Is Glyphosate

Glyphosate is an herbicide, but it’s made for two reasons one to kill and number two is to ripen.

Glyphosate in Food – 7 Surprising Glyphosate Truths That Will Shock Your World

1. There are 750 products for sale in the U.S that contain glyphosate.

This number does not even count the food products. According to the National Pesticide Information Center, there are 750 products for sale in America that have glyphosate in them.

2. Glyphosate is not a selective herbicide.

Now, glyphosate is a non selective herbicide, which means if you spray it on something, it’s going to die. That’s what it’s determined to do.

3. Glyphosate stops a specific enzyme pathway.

It interrupts protein synthesis. And this is an enzyme pathway that’s very necessary for plants and for microorganisms.

4. You can be exposed to it just by your skin by inhaling or ingesting it.

This is the danger of being affected by glyphosate… And yes, you can eat it since many food products have it! Those who are exposed to glyphosate may drool, vomit, have diarrhea, lose their appetite. Well, that’s just with one exposure. What if you have repeated exposures? That’s not being studied…

5. Pets are severely at risk for glyphosate.

If you’re spraying your yard with a roundup or a weed killer that has glyphosate and then your pets walk on that yard – that’s extremely toxic to them.

6. Glyphosate can kill fish and wildlife.

This chemical has a huge effect. It’s a popular herbicide used to kill certain plants, grasses, and even fish and wildlife!

7. Glyphosate can cause health problems.

We will go to that more in a minute but yes, glyphosate is linked in cancer, among other health issues.

Why is Glyphosate in Food?

Many farmers use it during food production. It’s often used on fruits and vegetables. It’s used on glyphosate resistant crops like canola, corn, cotton, soybean, sugar beets, and wheat. They also use it in the greenhouse.

Time is money and the quicker they can turn crops around, the quicker they can turn animals that are being raised for food, the quicker they can grow up and raise them and get them to the grocery store, the faster they can turn around on their money.

So, glyphosate goes into foods very early in the food chain before the raw food is even harvested, and before it’s processed,

Is Glyphosate Safe For Humans?

Let’s talk about long term health risks.

Number one is cancer. Glyphosate is linked with cancer including cancer of the bones, Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and brain cancer.

The dairy obtained from cows eating a diet of soybeans with high levels of glyphosate can increase your risk of liver and kidney damage. There are also reproductive issues and skeletal defects in babies.

What are the 7 foods of the promised land? In Deuteronomy 8:7-10, it says, “For the Lord your God is bringing you to a good land, ….. A land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey.

When you have eaten and are satisfied you shall bless the Lord…” 7 Foods of the Promised Land:

Here are 7 powerful reasons to eat olives. These include spiritual and physical health benefits of olives - both the olive fruit and olive oil, so you’ll learn why eating olives everyday is a great thing. (The first two are spiritual benefits of olives!)

 

  1. Eating olives helps us remember the message of salvation. 

 

The olive tree is an eternal tree, and spiritually, the eternal message that Jesus came to give us is the message of salvation.  This message of salvation is taught to us in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” 

 

Jesus brought us the message of salvation and one of the biblical characteristics of the olive tree is it is eternal. It is a perfect olive tree symbolism because it can last for hundreds of years. 

 

  1. The olive fruit helps us to recognize God at work in our lives.

 

The olives had to go through a pressing. So the first pressing was the oil that was used for the tabernacle. It was used for lighting in the tabernacle. And that's going to be the purest oil we always offer God the first of our fruits, the purest that we have. The second oil pressed would've been used for fires. And then the third oil press would have been used for lighting in our homes. 

 

So we always want to give God our first fruits. We always think of the first pressing of olives in 2 Corinthians, where it says, “We are pressed but not crushed. We are perplexed, but not in despair. We are persecuted but not forsaken. Cast down, but not destroyed.” The olive tree stands for eternity and remember, olives are really not pleasing at first. In fact, they are very bitter. It takes soaking and pressing to get the finest oil that makes the best flavor. 

 

And so just as olives are oppressed and crushed, we too can have times that are that seem pressing. But through that brings out the best in us. The olive tree stands for eternity and Jesus is the one who offers eternal life. 

 

  1. Olives contain antihistamine properties.

 

So many people today take antihistamines for allergies but did you know that this antihistamine effect can be achieved through pure olives and pure olive oil? It is a good solution to those looking to take a natural antihistamine.

 

  1. It lowers the risk of inflammation.

 

Inflammation  tell us we've got a problem and that's okay, but when we have a consistent inflammation, then we have trouble in our body. And so what it does is it just has an antiinflammatory effect and that is going to help us to feel better. 

 

  1. It lowers the level of C-Reactive Protein. So, C-Reactive protein is a blood measurement. Every time you're getting your blood work done, you should always get a CRP value done and you should track that result and always keep track of those results. CRP is important because it's an inflammation marker and when you have that number go up, there can be a risk of cancer.   1. Olives inhibit the inflammation process. 

 

There's a pathway in your body called the arachidonic acid pathway, and this is an inflammation process, so it actually inhibits the inflammation process. So not only does it help to alleviate inflammation, it helps to inhibit the process of inflammation. 

 

  1. Olives have anticancer properties.

 

When olives and olive oil are processed correctly, you are receiving an antioxidant component called glutathione. It is your master antioxidant that’s the gatekeeper and it tries to get rid of free radicals.

So if we can inhibit that with glutathione, the master antioxidant which we get from olives and olive oil, then we get the health benefits that give us the wow factor. And so these are five of the physical benefits, why you should add olives and olive oil in your diet. But it all comes down to this. Just as we are spiritual, we are physical and just as we are physical, we are spiritual. So Jesus uses stories of food to teach us physical aspects of who we are so that he can then teach us the spiritual elements of who we are.

1. Water
 
You've got to have water in your diet and, and, and don't be buying those flavor packets in the grocery store. Just drink water. It's okay if you want to add real fruit or real vegetables, cucumbers to make it more palatable, but don't be buying processed things to make your water more palatable. 
 
Think of your skin as either if you want to be a grape or raising well, raisins, all wrinkly and dry it up and a grape is plump and full. Yeah, exactly.
 
2. Fatty fish
 
Fatty fish is very healthy for you and really good for your skin. It is important because of the Omega 3'ss. It really helps you to have beautiful skin.
 
3. Green Tea
 
The next is another food that I enjoy actually every day, and it's green tea. So green tea is so good for healthy skin because it contains substances that naturally care for your skin.
 
4. Avocados
 
You can add it to your diet in many different ways just by eating regular Avocados. If you want to use oil for cooking, the best oil to use is avocado oil as it is great for your skin. 
 
5. Almonds
 
When you buy them raw,  these nuts have such healthy fat in them that your skin loves it. Now with every food you don't need very many. Maybe 10 whole almonds a day would be amazing for your health.
 
6. Carotenoids
 
 It's really specifically Kale, but a whole group, a whole family of nutrients called carotenoids. Carotenoids are your colors, your vibrant colors that are in food more so like your reds, your greens and your yellows.
 
7. Kale
 
Be sure to eat kale everyday to keep your skin smooth and radiant. Look for pesticide-free kale and organic ones that will benefit your body inside and out.

Have you ever wondered, is Kale really is healthiest people say, is it a superfood, as a lot of people claim, and there are so many foods today that are considered quote superfoods? Well, I’m here to tell you that there are some amazing benefits for adding Kale to your diet. And under my standards, yes, it’s a superfood. So today we’re gonna look at five reasons why you should consider adding more Kale into your diet. And then also at the end, I’m going to share with you how much is enough. You know, with my husband uses, it just has to taste good, you know? Um, and if I were to throw three cups of Kale into his smoothie every morning, he’s not gonna like that. So how much is enough? , first of all, let’s start with what are the health benefits of Eating Kale?

My Passion is understanding the foods that God created for us. Therefore we become more competent in the kitchen and therefore more confident in our future and always understanding all of this comes wrapped in understanding how much God loves us. Remember, he could have just had us eat dirt, you know, but instead he and created and he created a bunch of incredible foods. So right here I have a few leaves or wilting quite quickly in the heat, but these are some Kale leaves straight out of my garden. I’m going to eat them no matter if they wilt or not. So anyway, you can grow Kale in your own garden. They grow best in uh, early fall, and really early spring. Sometimes I’ve had it grow all winter long and let me just show you the result of that. This is some dehydrated kale. Actually, if you can see the date on the jar, it’s from 2017 April 2017 and I harvested so much that year that I have courts and courts and courts of dehydrated Kale that we are still enjoying.

Health benefits of kale

Okay, so why, why am I doing this? Let’s look at the five top reasons. Number one, we need to understand that Kale is cruciferous. Cruciferous is my, one of my favorite words when it comes to foods because Christopher’s represents the cross. So this is one of the 12 health-promoting foods in the cruciferous family. And so knowing that it’s cruciferous, it’s going to be very health-promoting, which I just said, but that means it’s also going to be an anticancer, it’s going to interrupt tumor growth.

Now let’s get started with today’s questions.

1. What are the healthy fats of the Bible? (Jamie)

Visiting Israel you will be met with the most delicious foods ever. The restaurants and hotels buffets are delicious. The fats in Israel – include the fats of the bible. Olives and avocados are in Israel, nuts, pistachios mentioned in genesis 43:11, fish – fresh, from the sea of galilee and the Mediterranean.

Even favorites such as chickpeas to make hummus has a small number of fats.

2. How do I lose weight eating this way? (Nick)

Learning how to recognize our body signals is the way we were intended to live. Yes, in the biblical days they had celebrations and there are also 20 verses on gluttony.

Yet – food is not meant to consume us as it does today. Eating foods God designed in their purest form is what makes any diet work. Eating foods only when you are hungry and stopping when you are satisfied – brings freedom to be at the weight you were created to be. Never overweight. Too many times we eat because of addictions – I really love my _____ Or we eat for fun. I love my popcorn and doritos when I watch.

Or we eat because of habit. Your body was created with cues – hunger and satisfied. Today we have to learn these cues and heal the microbiome so the hormones – ghrelin, and leptin can work for us. To many people are leptin resistant – which means they will have a difficult time learning hunger satisfied cues. Their weight will continue to be a struggle. We can change that – it takes work. The deeper we are in the food addictions – the harder the climb out.

When I interviewed Dr Michael Brown – from Ask Dr brown – he shared it was easier to overcome his heroin addiction than his food addiction. Yet – it was not impossible. And today he has gone 6 years free of his food addiction and plus has not had 600 headaches – since he had headaches at least 3 times per week.

So was it worth it to eat this way – by all means – emphatically yes. So losing weight is very possible – and it will happen. Stay focused and enjoy the journey.

3. How can I obey God more with my diet? (Sara)

Obeying God is about being responsive to what he is calling you to do. And yes – God spoke to me many times about my health and eating. And yes – my eating and health were at an impasse. One had to change – either call God a liar – I can’t lose weight – let me have my ice cream Or I had to change my heart and let God show me his love and grace. Then stop living as if tomorrow does not matter – start living as if my health was necessary - and it is.

4. How can I stick to an eating plan when my family refuses to? (Tom) Good question. The first answer is - you are the only person responsible for what you eat. I doubt you are being force-fed. This means – make is a joy to eat healthy – not a prison sentence.

Make it fun to cook – new recipes, tasty and delicious wins many people to eat healthy. Then start enjoying life. As you eat healthy life becomes more fun - now showoff that fun! I am saying don’t limit God. If this is his desire for you to care for your temple and enjoy His foods then ask God to change the hearts of your family. This is not a foreign idea or magic. It is praying God’s Words back to Him and asking for your heart’s desire.

Are you satisfied with your diet? 

Would you like to know the latest diet plan that works? We live in a society where everyone's

looking for the latest, the greatest, what's new, what's going to work, how can I drop this weight in one month?

 

But I want to ask you the key question: Are you satisfied?

 

Let's look at this verse in Acts 17: 21, which says, “Now all the Athenians and the strangers visiting there used to spend their time and nothing other than telling or hearing something new. 

 

I bring this passage to mind for you because many times we think what's new is what's going to satisfy us because we tried the old stuff that didn't work. And now, you’re looking for something new.

 

You tried HCG, Atkins, Paleo, or ketogenic….

 

You've tried all of those diet pills, fasting… You’ve tried everything. And just as the Athenians who were looking for something new, you may be feeling the same way. 

 

Another verse is in Ecclesiastes chapter 3 verse 11, and it says, “He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart... Yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.

 

We have in our heart a need to be satisfied. But we will only be satisfied in Christ Jesus.

 

Let's look at another verse in Matthew 11 verse 28. It says, “Come to me all who are weary

and heavy laden and I will give you rest.”

 

In Ecclesiastes, Solomon explains why men and women are there not satisfied with life and God has put eternity in their heart and nobody will find peace or satisfaction apart from God.

 

We also can read from the words of St. Augustine who said, “My heart is restless until it rests in

Thee.”

 

The eye cannot be satisfied until it sees the hand of God. The ear will not be satisfied until it hears the voice of God. And that's why we read in Matthew 11:28 where it says come to me all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

 

That rest that he's talking about in Matthew is the satisfaction that is spoken about through the entire scripture. We will only be satisfied when we are looking to God for our answers.

 

There's a saying that says if it is new it's not true. If it is true it's not new.

 

So, here's where I'm going with: For us to be satisfied in our diet, we've got to go back to the biblical principles. These are principles that are timeless.
