Welcome to Beyond the Marley Podcast, in this episode, we're honored to host Jill Lamey, the esteemed Seaton High School Dance Program Director and Varsity Head Coach.

Jill's journey in dance began at age of 4, immersing herself in the fundamentals of ballet, tap, and jazz within the studio setting. As a teenager, she transitioned into the dynamic realm of dance teams, participating passionately in Seton's junior high and varsity teams. Graduating into a coaching role immediately after, Jill's dedication led her to work with the youth team before ascending to the varsity level in 2003 as an assistant coach. Her remarkable commitment to the program led her to become the Program Director and Varsity Head Coach in the Spring of 2019.

Over the past 19 years, Jill's unwavering efforts have transformed the varsity team from its foundational roots to the powerhouse it is today. Her leadership culminated in an impressive streak, securing three national championships in 2018, 2020, and 2021 at the UDA National Dance Team Championships. Notably, these victories included triumphs in small pom categories in 2018 and 2021, along with a medium hip hop win in 2020.

Entering her 26th year coaching at Seton for the 23/24 season, Jill continues to embrace fresh challenges with enthusiasm. Her unwavering dedication to learning and refining the art of coaching remains a driving force behind propelling the program to greater heights. Jenny Sweet is the Head Coach of the National Champion Holy Angels Dance Team located in New Jersey. Under her direction, she has led the team to 5 UDA National Championships in Small Varsity Hip Hop and multiple top 3 placements in Small Varsity Pom. Her dance team journey began as a member of the James Madison University Dukettes where she led the team as a captain her senior year. Jenny was a core member of UDA College Circuit Staff and has judged both nationally and internationally, spoken at coaches' conferences, and has traveled internationally to Scotland, Norway, Ecuador, and Colombia as a Master Teacher for dance team conventions. She holds her Masters Degree in Dance Education from NYU and is currently on dance faculty at the Cicely L. Tyson Community School of Performing and Fine Arts.

Jackie is a National Champion with numerous titles to her name, both as a dancer and a coach in D1A collegiate divisions. Jackie currently coaches UNLV pom, UNLV Rebel girls and company, and Coronado Cougarettes - all programs that are well-known for their success on and off the national stage. Apart from her dance career, she is also a wife and a mom of two adorable children. Her friends refer to her as "the cool mom" and "wife of the party," while she's known for her stunning balloon arches at every event.

Join us for an exhilarating episode as we welcome All Star champion Dana Parsons. With over 30 years of dance training and experience in the dance world, Dana has achieved numerous accolades, including being a member of the first Dance Mania team in 1999 and becoming the owner of Dance Mania in 2008, growing the program into one of the most elite All Star dance teams in the world.

Dana's achievements include being named the USASF coach of the Year in 2010, a 10-time USASF Dance World Champion coach, a 2-time ICU World Champion as the US National Team, and multiple silver and bronze national championships. Recently, she was named the 2022 National Dance Team Championships All Star Coach of the Year and the 2022 ICU International Dance Coach of the Year. She has also coached, mentored, and guided over 20 Division 1 athletes to dance on the nation's top college dance teams.

But what's most important to Dana is being a mom of two boys, aged 7 and 11, and being married for 15 years. When she's not coaching or running a business, she's a championship mom and wife.
