In this weeks episode of Better with Running Podcast, Zacca and Chris are joined by a special guest, new run2pb coach, Kate Avery, Kate has had a stellar running career which includes earning a GB vest 19 times across indoor, outdoor, cross country and, most recently, mountain running. She has 14 European medals and 2 World team medals, a 4th place finish in the 10,000m at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games and is currently the only British woman to have ever won the NCAA cross-country title. Kate’s P.Bs are 3000 8:56, 5000m 15:25 and 10,000m 31:41 Kate has since moved to the trails and loving trying different events. We hear about her love for running as a junior, some memories from her favourite race at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games where in front of a huge crowd she finished 4th. This week Better with Running Podcast, features the finale of ‘ Chasing that feeling - Road to Osaka with Elise Beacom’ The show starts with a hero's welcome, as the boys introduce Elise straight off the plane from Japan. We hear about the final week taper, including the last workout in AU before jetting off and then we get the low down on the final days preparation, the general vibe with the other Aussies racing over there before a very detailed race recap. Elise talks us through the various stages of the race, breaking down how she is was feeling in particular parts and also we hear about some of the key themes of inspiration that she was drawing on through the marathon.
