First, Clemson sued the ACC in a South Carolina court in an attempt to clarify whether the grant of rights all the ACC schools agreed to is legally binding. The Tigers joined Florida State, which sued the ACC in December in a Florida court. (The ACC filed a preemptive lawsuit against the Seminoles in North Carolina).

Next, offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor appears headed BACK to Alabama after transferring to Iowa earlier this offseason. Proctor started all 14 games for the Crimson Tide at left tackle as a true freshman in 2023, but he entered the transfer portal shortly after Nick Saban retired and headed back to his home state. He told Iowa coaches this week that he intended to re-enter the portal, and he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Tuesday night that he intends to re-enroll at Alabama.

Later, new Syracuse coach Brown joins the show to explain why he’ll chase the same five-star recruits at Syracuse that he chased as a Georgia assistant. He also explains why his relationships helped him reshape the Orange roster very quickly. After hearing Brown’s philosophy, you’re probably going to be very high on Syracuse next year.

Next, Nick Roush of Kentucky Sports Radio joins to preview Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats haven’t made the second weekend of the tourney since 2019, but John Calipari’s team is capable of going deep in the tourney this year. But it’s also inconsistent enough to duck out in one of the first two rounds, and that’s what makes this team such an adventure to watch.

After Nick, On3 national reporter Pete Nakos joins to break down Clemson’s lawsuit against the ACC. The Tigers’ suit has some similarities to the one filed by Florida State, but Clemson attacks from a few different angles as well. Does this mean the best brands leaving the ACC is inevitable? It’s a cavalcade of QB news on a Monday. North Carolina’s Drake Maye and Notre Dame’s Sam Hartman are opting out of their teams’ respective bowl games. But that news got blown away Monday night by the chatter out of Georgia and Nebraska that Dylan Raiola, the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the class of 2024, is considering flipping from Georgia to Nebraska with a little more than a week left before National Signing Day.

Sean Callahan of On3’s Husker Illustrated joins to discuss what a Raiola flip might mean for coach Matt Rhule and the Cornhuskers. Sean also explains how that could affect Nebraska’s recruitment of Ohio State transfer QB Kyle McCord, who was visiting Lincoln on Monday.

We’ll get to your primer on the college basketball season, but first a little football news. The commissioners who run the College Football Playoff have agreed on a revenue split and a TV deal for the CFP beyond 2026, but they haven’t settled on a format. The 14-team model commissioners had proposed is not a sure thing because ESPN doesn’t want to pay more for additional games.

Now it’s time to talk about a postseason tournament that knows what it is. On3’s resident bracketologist James Fletcher III joins to help make you sound like an expert this weekend as you drink green beer and watch the NCAA Tournament bracket reveal.

We’ll take you through the 2023-24 basketball season from the start to this weekend. We’ll remind you of the established stars (Purdue’s Zach Edey, North Carolina’s Armando Bacot) and introduce you to the new stars (Tennessee’s Dalton Knecht, Indiana State’s Robbie Avila).

James will break down the teams on the bubble and explain who has a chance to make the field with another conference tournament win or two. We’ll also be on the lookout for any bid thieves.

James also will take you through the top of the seed lines and fill you in on the teams that could wind up in the Final Four if they get hot next week.

Georgia crushed Florida State in the Orange Bowl, which wasn't a surprise. Neither was everyone extrapolating what it meant about the College Football Playoff selection committee's decision.

On Friday night in Arlington, Ohio State had a miserable night against Missouri. After losing QB Devin Brown early, the Buckeyes couldn't sniff the end zone. Meanwhile, the Tigers kept pounding and capped a special year with a huge win.

In Atlanta, Ole Miss torched a shorthanded Penn State defense. The Rebels grabbed win No. 11, and they've set up an offseason where we'll assume they're a College Football Playoff team.

Lance Leipold has worked a miracle at Kansas, and he explains how what he learned coaching in Division III ultimately helped him turn the worst program in the power conferences into a team that went 9-4 last season and kept together a core that will enter the 2024 season expecting big things.

The Jayhawks are adjusting to change, though. Penn State hired away offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, and Leipold hired veteran coordinator Jeff Grimes to take over an offense led by human highlight reel Jalon Daniels. Kansas also will be playing its games in Kansas City while the Jayhawks’ home stadium is being rebuilt in Lawrence. A time traveler from 2019 wouldn’t believe one of the clauses that was written into the contract with the Chiefs’ stadium.

Next, Andy and Nick Roush of Kentucky Sports Radio break down the John Calipari situation at Kentucky. Calipari is scheduled to meet with Wildcats athletic director Mitch Barnhart on Tuesday, but Calipari’s appearance on his radio show Monday night certainly seems to suggest he’s coming back for another season. That’s going to frustrate a lot of the fanbase. What does Calipari need to do to win back that group? And more importantly, what does he need to do to get out of the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament?

A talk about LSU’s 2025 win total (8.5 at Fanduel) turns into a broader discussion about one of college football’s most interesting programs.

The Tigers have won nine, nine and eight regular-season games in Brian Kelly’s tenure. A return to nine would cash a ticket, but it probably wouldn’t satisfy most LSU fans. That group craves a return to the College Football Playoff, and Kelly came to Baton Rouge from Notre Dame with the expectation that he’d have the team competing for national titles.

Is this the year he does that? And what happens if it isn’t? The Tigers were aggressive in the transfer portal, and they return one of the nation’s best quarterbacks in Garrett Nussmeier. This feels like a pivotal season.

Later, Andy and Ari break down Andy’s list of the most impactful coordinator moves. A slow head-coaching market meant a more robust group of coordinator openings, and how some of these hires fare likely will determine how the head coach carousel looks in 10 months.

The spring transfer portal opens Wednesday, but the names are already starting to trickle in.

The biggest name, of course, is former Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava. It’s still unclear where he will land, but it’s becoming increasingly likely that he won’t be making a parallel move.

On Monday night, Cal tailback Jaydn Ott entered the portal. Meanwhile, a trio of Division II offensive linemen from the same team are picking up interest.

We’re buzzing about buzzer beaters after the first final shot to decide a game in this NCAA Tournament. Maryland’s Derik Queen called bank and called game to beat Colorado State and move on to the Sweet 16. But that wasn’t the only buzzer-beater Sunday that mattered. UConn nailed a shot as the buzzer sounded that didn’t help the Huskies at all, but it crushed Ari.

The Terrapins advancing also makes the situation involving coach Kevin Willard more interesting. Villanova wants a coach, and Willard might be a candidate. Maryland wants to keep Willard, and the price keeps going up as he keeps winning.

The SEC dropped a bunch of early-season kickoff times Thursday and — more importantly — promised to deliver the kickoff times for most of the rest of the season on June 11. Of note, the first SEC edition of the Red River Rivalry will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. CT. Also, the Egg Bowl (Mississippi State at Ole Miss) and Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate (Georgia Tech at Georgia) are moving to Black Friday.

In other news, the NCAA settled a federal lawsuit with the Department of Justice and various state attorneys general over transfer rules. Essentially, there won’t be any. On3’s Pete Nakos will explain why the NCAA rolled over on an issue that has a huge effect on football and basketball.

The ACC plans to settle lawsuits with Clemson and Florida State, and the various boards are expected to approve the settlement on Tuesday.

Who came out on top? It sure seems like Clemson and Florida State (and North Carolina and Miami). The ACC has a set a sliding scale of buyout costs should a school want to leave the league, and the number gets very manageable just as the Big Ten’s current TV deal expires.

Ole Miss defensive end Jared Ivey joins the show to talk about the great expectations for the Rebels in 2024. Ivey, who hosts his own (excellent) show called The Ivey League, explains how even though Ole Miss has thrived using the transfer portal, players like himself — Ivey came from Georgia Tech prior to the 2022 season — and others have put down roots in Oxford and created a winning culture. With all the talk about Ohio State’s offseason roster moves and Oregon’s entry into the Big Ten, it’s easy to forget that the Big Ten also is home to the defending national champs. Michigan visited Big Ten Media Days on Thursday and offered a reminder that while the Wolverines lost a lot of great players to the NFL, the cupboard isn’t bare.

One potential breakout star is Donovan Edwards, who struggled through a disappointing 2023 season before exploding for 104 yards and two touchdowns on just six carries in the national title game win against Washington.

Edwards talked Thursday about how he got through last season and how much he’s grown ahead of this season.

Next, Andy breaks down Oregon coach Dan Lanning’s discussion of recruiting. Oregon has a big NIL war chest, but not an unlimited one. But does it bother Lanning that his recruiting success is credited to NIL deals when recruiting wins at Georgia or Ohio State are credited differently?

After that, Oregon linebacker Jeffrey Bassa discusses the huge expectations for the Ducks.

Then we look at the other side of the Oregon-Washington rivalry as new Huskies coach Jedd Fisch joins Andy to talk about rebuilding a team that won’t look anything like the one that played for a national title.

Andy is then joined by another first-year coach — Indiana’s Curt Cignetti. Cignetti won big at James Madison, and he’s loaded the Hoosiers’ roster with veteran transfers who played well at the Group of 5 level. Will that method produce a quick start at a place not known for winning football?

There's a new No. 1 in On3's transfer portal rankings, and it's defensive tackle Walter Nolen. Nolen, a sophomore at Texas A&M, announced Sunday that he was entering the portal, but he didn't officially enter until Wednesday. Now it's a question of where he's going. Tennessee? Michigan? Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne has proposed giving an automatic loss to teams whose fans rush the court or the field after a win. SEC commissioner Greg Sankey, who has tried for years to stop court/field storming, isn’t ready to go that far, but he said the idea has support.

Does anything need to be done about court and field storming? And if penalties do get more severe, is reversing the result a viable solution?

The transfer portal doesn't take weekends off, and neither does On3's Pete Nakos. He joins Andy to discuss former Alabama quarterback signee Julian Sayin committing to Ohio State on Sunday. Sayin joins former Alabama safety Caleb Downs, a freshman All-America selection who committed to the Buckeyes on Friday. The Buckeyes, who also just hired Bill O'Brien to run the offense, are not playing around in 2024.

Andy and Pete also talk about whether what has happened at Alabama should inform what Michigan does if Jim Harbaugh winds up leaving for the NFL. Is promoting offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore an even smarter move if an outside search means the roster could get picked apart?

Before Pete joins, Andy points out that what happened to Iowa basketball star Caitlin Clark during Sunday's court-storming after Ohio State upset the Hawkeyes is exactly why some leagues have been trying to make rules to curb court/field storming. Andy isn't necessarily in favor of those rule, but he is in favor of some common sense.

Later, Nick De La Torre of On3's Gators Online joins to discuss the NCAA investigation at Florida, which has been going on since last summer. The Internet was abuzz Wednesday after Dominic Raiola, the father of Nebraska signee Dylan Raiola, told Adam Gorney of rivals.com that a conversation with ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit helped guide his son’s recruitment. This led to anger at Herbstreit from Georgia fans because Dylan Raiola flipped to Nebraska from Georgia. Andy talked to Herbstreit on Wednesday night and can provide a lot more context for how that phone call went. Needless to say, there is more to the story.

Herbstreit also will have a new co-worker on College GameDay. ESPN announced Wednesday that former Alabama coach Nick Saban will join the GameDay cast this season. 

Next, Sportico legal analyst and Harvard law professor Michael McCann joins Andy to help explain the various legal cases affecting college sports right now. McCann handicaps next week’s hearing in the case involving the Tennessee and Virginia attorneys general suing the NCAA over its NIL rules. McCann also explains what the next steps are after a National Labor Relations Board regional director ruled Dartmouth basketball players to be employees of the university.

What may come as a shock is that he isn't releasing a depth chart at all before the Crimson Tide's week 1 matchup against Middle Tennessee State. West Virginia has also decided not to announce their starting quarterback as they face the Nittany Lions of Penn State in Week 1. Following the trend, Indiana has elected not to announce their..... kicker. Alabama receiver Isaiah Bond dropped an interesting nugget Thursday about the Crimson Tide’s preparation for Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Bond said Alabama players were not allowed to watch practice video on their individual tablets — just with their teammates and position coaches at the team facility. This was in response to a question about whether he’d followed the news of the Michigan signal-stealing investigation during the season.

Also on Thursday, Crimson Tide QB Jalen Milroe revealed that former Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien told Milroe he should switch positions. That revelation came on a day Milroe and first-year Times offensive coordinator Tommy Rees discussed the evolution of their relationship during a season that started rocky for both and has improved dramatically over the past two months.

Clayton Sayfie of The Wolverine joins Andy to talk about Alabama’s cybersecurity measures. Plus, Clayton and Andy break down the critical line-of-scrimmage matchups in a game where both teams have scary defensive lines and offensive lines that have struggled at times this season.

Later, Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy joins Andy to preview some of the best players in this final full weekend of college football. Nagy breaks down Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. against the Texas secondary and the Washington offensive line against the Texas defensive line in the Sugar Bowl. Half the Elite Eight is set and if Thursday is any indication, Friday will be a wild night of basketball. Andy and On3’s James Fletcher III break it all down.

For possibly the first time all season, Alabama’s defense matched its offense and the Crimson Tide beat North Carolina in a thriller that ended with multiple Grant Nelson blocks. Alabama will face Clemson, which beat Arizona on a night when the Wildcats inexplicably kept shooting threes that wouldn’t go down when easier scoring options were available.

In the East Region, Illinois is headed to the Elite Eight for the first time since 2005 after beating Iowa State. The Cyclones brought their usual suffocating defense, but the Illini matched it and Terrence Shannon Jr. scored 29 and helped seal the win with a breakaway dunk.

Illinois will face defending national champ Connecticut in the Elite Eight. The Huskies went cold late in the first half Thursday but roared to life in the second half and crushed San Diego State by 30 in a rematch of last season’s national title game.

Friday, South No. 1 seed Houston plays Duke, while Marquette plays tourney darling N.C. State. In the Midwest region, Tennessee plays Creighton and top-seeded Purdue plays Gonzaga.

Later, Penn State coach James Franklin discussed why he told OluFashanu to go pro and why he understood Fashanu’s decision to return. Franklin also compared and contrasted the skill sets of current Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter and former Nittany Lion Micah Parsons. Franklin then explained why he was glad quarterback Drew Allar got experience in 2022 without having to be thrust into the starting role. (30:09-36:07)

Michigan State coach Mel Tucker talked about the difficulty of last season and how the transfer portal giveth and taketh away. Tucker also explained how he believes the Spartans can get better quickly in 2023. (36:08-48:48)

They were all charged with tampering with records for attempting to conceal their identities while placing bets. Before we talk hoops, a little football news. Georgia running back Trevor Etienne, who just arrived from Florida, was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with DUI. Meanwhile, USC had a big recruiting day Sunday as the Trojans try to address their defensive issues. They flipped a defensive tackle from Georgia and landed commitments from a highly rated edge rusher and safety for the class of 2025.

The Sweet 16 is set, and it’s pretty chalky. But it took a miraculous overtime escape by South No. 1 seed Houston against Texas A&M to get there. The Cougars had four players foul out Sunday night and still managed to pull off a 100-95 win. Also, On3’s James Fletcher III caught a leg whip from Houston’s J’Wan Roberts when Roberts dove over press row for a loose ball in overtime.

He reassured the fan base while also encouraging greater donation and investment. He also staked his claim to having an even bigger voice in athletic department and school leadership.

Now, he needs to get his team ready to win some games. Because if he can add wins to his political savvy, Rhule could have a very productive tenure at Nebraska.

It’s a packed Friday! We’ve got two Final Fours to talk about. We’ve also got some football.

It’s Iowa against UConn and South Carolina against N.C. State in the women’s Final Four, and all eyes are on Iowa’s Caitlin Clark and UConn’s Paige Bueckers. Clark always wanted to play for UConn, but Bueckers was the prized player the Huskies recruited in the class of 2020. Only one will lead her team to the national title game.

Meanwhile, two N.C. State basketball teams are trying to shock the world. The N.C. State women play undefeated South Carolina, while the Wolfpack men will face Purdue on Saturday.

We’ll also be talking N.C. State football. The Wolfpack play their spring game on Saturday, and so does Clemson. So we’re bringing in the great Roddy Jones of the ACC Network to discuss the biggest storylines in the league. And Roddy is very intrigued by new N.C. State quarterback Grayson McCall.

Clemson didn't just lose its season opener at Duke. The Tigers got destroyed.
