08 Mar 2022#0 | Introducing Venus and Mars

My theory is that the tension and imbalance we feel in society stems from one root cause - the disharmony between the masculine and the feminine in ourselves and with each other.

Over the years it’s become my mission to help restore that harmony the best way I can. I’ve been studying, researching, and having some powerful conversations with brilliant people from all backgrounds.

Conversations that I desperately want to share with you and through these conversations, we’re actively building a bridge.

Brick by brick.

A bridge that unites the masculine and feminine.

A bridge that unites men and women.

Join me on this journey of curiosity, empathy, and a desire to understand. If you or anyone you know would like to be on the show, please reach out to me at anyashakh.com

29 Jun 2022#10 | What is Masculinism w/ your host Anya Shakh

In this episode, Anya fills a gap that we have in our culture by bringing to light a term that is missing, masculinism. Many times, we see feminism and masculinity being placed next to each other (or pitted against each other), but that’s not correct. Feminism is a movement, while masculinity is a life force (apples and oranges).

Etymology is extremely important, when we don’t have the right word or the right definition of a word in our culture, we get stuck. And currently we are stuck because we are missing the word and definition of masculinism. Listen in as Anya introduces masculinism, where it came from, and why we so desperately need to add it to our vernacular. In this short episode, Anya talks about Robert Bly (the father of men’s movement), Egyptian mythology, Indigenous storytelling, and how we can use masculinism in the modern context to help get us unstuck and move forward.

27 Jul 2022#12 | Finding Freedom in your Body w/ Hannah Rose

In this episode, Anya hosts vibrant and expressive fitness coach and dancer Hannah Rose. Hannah’s passion for people find deep connection and freedom within their bodies is inspiring.

She’s got immense wisdom to share about how people’s body movement or lack thereof is directly related to the pain they hold within them. As a dancer and fitness coach, Hannah and I discuss both the strip club and fitness industries at length and unpack the wounded and healthy masculine and feminine dynamics that live in both spaces.  We highlight how different movement is for men and women and why so many women feel helpless in the hyper-masculine fitness industry because they don’t achieve the results they want.

We touch on the bodybuilder’s journey and the mental struggle that can exist there, in addition to highlighting the missing space for the feminine within fitness in general. We talk about men and the way they relate to their bodies through the training process and sexuality. Finally, we unravel the layers of validation and rejection that exists for both men and women within body movement.

We highlight some resources and cultural references during this episode including;

Strip Down, Rise Up - a must watch documentary on netflix for both men and women highlighting sensual expression and trauma

Shredded - An award winning short documentary from Israel that follows the mental struggle of a bodybuilder. (Link to watch only available for 48 hours after release of this episode)

Magic Mike - Understanding the sensual freedom and safety that fluid body movement creates for men (specifically the live shows)

Last but not least, connect with the wonderful Hannah Rose on instagram. She’s currently creating a beautiful new program for women that fuses the discipline of the gym with the fluidity of sensual dance.

03 Aug 2022#13 | I Love Men Because…(pt 1) w/ Julie Diaz

12 Aug 2022#14 | The Collective Heroes Journey w/ Michael Shawe

In this episode, Anya hosts NY based psychotherapist Michael Shawe. Michael’s passion for helping people heal their traumas so they can create meaningful connections is infectious. He’s currently spending a lot of time coaching couples as well as leading a men’s group.

What I originally thought would be a conversation about unpacking what’s behind the term mama’s boy, we went much deeper. We ended up going on a hero’s journey where we unearthed what it means to actually love a person in their wholeness. We talk about how the key to making real connections is through our dark sides and how similar we all are in our experiences.

We talk about mama’s boys, emotionally absent fathers, power dynamics, and how sex and our wounds are inextricably linked until we make the subconscious conscious.

With plenty of personal references, anecdotes, and examples; this conversation is an invitation for everyone, man or woman, to ask themselves some important questions about their truest desires for love, sex, and connection.

27 Sep 2022#16 | Beneath the Relationship Labels and Buzz Words w/ Taune Lyons

In this episode, Anya hosts wise woman and psychotherapist, Taune Lyons. Taune is devoted to interconnection and she helps people take that elusive journey from their head to their heart.

Taune’s empathy and openness paired with her clarity and realness made her the perfect person to discuss the very confusing state of relationship labels and buzz words that we find ourselves in today.

While options and labels for different relationship structures are growing, the level of personal understanding, integrity, and authentic alignment isn’t always…so I wanted to explore that.

To do that, I went back to basics to ask the simple questions; what is polygamy? what is polyamory? what is monogamy? what is consensual non monogamy? What is partnership? How do we know what is authentic to us?

Taune and I talked partnership, power-dynamics, sex, love and the role culture and history play in our relationships. Our intention was to give everyone listening an opportunity to discover what being in true-integrity might mean for them.

08 Oct 2022#17 | Uncovering Femininity and Understanding Men w/ Magalie René

In this episode, Anya hosts Confidence and Compassion expert, CEO of Workplace Catalyst, and host of “The C Word,” Magalie René. Magalie helps individuals and corporations bring leadership, compassion, and well-being together into one high-impact package.

This episode is called ‘Uncovering Femininity and Understanding Men’ because as women find their femininity, they begin to see men with greater love and compassion. Both Magalie and I didn’t really understand femininity until very recently and that journey of discovery is one we want to share with you - all in the name of healing men and women.

This is a continuation from our prior episode where we discussed Daddy Issues (aka the father wound). Women that have experienced daddy issues typically have a tough time with femininity and reclaiming it is a revolutionary experience. One that brings a brand new relationship with work, pleasure, receiving, confidence, and men of course.

This episode is live just in time for Maglie’s launch of her new miniseries, The “C” Word (no it’s not a 4 letter word)! It’s a 10 part miniseries about a 10-letter word with the power to change the world. Compassion is a game changer and no one teaches how and why quite like Magalie René. Ewan has been to battle with his own demons and has come out on the other side victorious with a powerful purpose to help men do the same. He supports men from all walks of life in finding their power, living from their hearts, and finding joy and fulfillment in their lives. His emotional strength and depth come through beautifully in this episode about understanding men and emotional availability.

An emotionally available man? In our culture this phrase buzzes around especially in women circles. Is he or isn’t he emotionally available? But we never stop to actually define the term, understand the variables, and ponder how different behaviors from women might impact emotional availably or the lack of it.

We discuss the arc of emotional availability and what that journey looks like for men. We explore what’s at play when men fall into lust versus concisely choosing relationship. We get into how and why men’s work is a prerequisite for emotional availability, a very paradoxical and important thing for women and men to understand. Since at the end of the day, we all want more emotionally available men right?

Tune into this beautiful exploration of manhood and womanhood right alongside it as we ebb and flow towards understanding what qualities are required for men and women to meet each other in a truly emotionally open place.

19 Nov 2022#20 | What Our Instincts Tell Us w/ your host Anya Shakh

In this episode, Anya brings to light the the top instincts men and women have when it comes to selecting a mate and/or being attracted to the opposite sex. Many times, popular culture tries to deny the biological urges that we’ve inherited from our hunter and gatherer ancestors but they are alive and well. Anya brings forth recent data to illuminate what’s really going in on the hormones of men and women in order to help people integrate their animal aspects with their greater and much more expansive spiritual side.

When we can lay our instincts out on the table and learn to accept and even love them, we can stop getting stuck in the tension that misunderstood instincts brings to men and women. Once we make peace with them, we come closer to the harmony and union that most men and women deeply desire. Anya touches on the terms hypergamy and misogyny in addition to sharing the results from one of the most popular studies in sex differences done by Evolutionary Psychologist, David Buss, called the 37 cultures study.

Upon listening to this quick little episode, Anya’s intention is for masculine men and feminine women to let out one big sigh of relief.

30 Nov 2022#21 | The Marine and The Magician w/ Mike Danson

In this episode, Anya hosts passionate Men’s Coach, Mike Danson. Mike is a United States Marine Corps Veteran whose mission is now to bring brotherhood to young men so they can change manhood for the better. He’s now a teen coach for Uncivilized Nation, a men’s group dedicated to ending the suffering in men and the suffering caused by men. He has lived many lives and his dedication for supporting young men through it all comes through here.

I wanted to know, what are boys looking for these days? What do they need? How do we inspire parents to understand them? What do we do for the boys of today so we can help the men of tomorrow?

We dive into all of this and more in this episode titled, The Marine & The Magician. There are four main archetypes within masculine psychology; The King, The Lover, The Magician, and The Warrior. Here we get into the two most important ones at the beginning of a man’s life; The Magician and The Warrior (aptly named The Marine here in honor of Mike’s experiences in the Marine Corps).

Tune into this comprehensive look into the hearts and minds of boys and men as Mike and I explore the elements that are required for boys to become healthy and fulfilled men later in life.

22 Dec 2022#22 | The Red Pill Trap w/ Matt Halson

In this episode Anya hosts Men’s coach, father of 4, and oil and gas electrician of 13 years, Matt Halson. Matt is living in Australia and he pulled himself back from being a poor communicating unhappy, workaholic who was close to losing his family.

He now has a happy, fulfilling, and connected life with his family and lives as the man he deep down knew he could be. With almost a decade of experience in mens work and self development, Matt now helps men discover their values, vision, and purpose in life. He works with men who, like himself, have ticked a lot of the boxes for the “blue print” of life, yet find themselves unsatisfied, unhappy, and empty or with that thought of “there has to be more to life.”

I stand for men’s work, Matt stands for men’s work, but there’s still a confusion about what men’s work is in the mainstream. If you turn on CNN and hear “men’s work,” you might get it confused with some other words about male movements that are floating around. Terms like Manosphere, MGTOW, and Red Pill. In this episode Matt and I dispel any possible confusion about the relationship between men’s work and these other movements - they could not be in further opposition from each other.

Listen in as Matt and I dive into how what men’s work is, how it saved his life and impacted his family for the better, and how he helps other men do the same. We also cover different priorities that men and women have, how providing emotional safety expands the lives of men in infinite ways, and what union and partnership require from us.

04 Jan 2023#23 | From Autopilot to Being in Service w/ Dr Mark Mathis

In this episode, Anya hosts Doctor of Chiropractic, Mark Mathis. Mark loves contributing to people’s health through his passion for what he does and with that he hopes to inspire others to find their purpose.

What really lights me up about Mark is how committed he is to his vision to help people heal (which is in direct contrast to  what he saw around him as a kid). Mark opens up about his journey towards his purpose by completely defying the cultural paradigms that he was born into.

It’s a real hero’s journey of finding masculine fulfillment and peace of mind by being in service to others. We cover how interlinked relationships and health are to each other, understanding what purpose is and is not, and why filling a need and being of service is fundamental to finding peace as a man.

We end with a beautiful visualization exercise that everyone listening can do at home. A perfect way to jump start 2023.

28 Jan 2023#24 | The Relationship between Money, Sex, and Trauma w/ Dylan Bain

In this episode Anya hosts Financial Coach and CPA, Husband, and father of 2, Dylan Bain. Dylan began his financial journey when he left his job as a math teacher to pursue a career in accounting while supporting his wife through grad school and raising two daughters. Determined to make it work and leave his former life of multiple jobs and welfare behind, he set out to rewrite the script of his life and find peace in financial security.

Dylan has gone from food stamps to financial sovereignty; down a path that involved five jobs, four addresses, three degrees, two kids, and one vision of an amazing life. He has learned how to live, love, lead, and learn with his wife and raise their kids through all the challenges of those times. Now, in addition to working as a CPA, he runs Fiscally Savage, a financial coaching practice focused on the emotions of money, budgets as statements of shared values, and how to take control of your financial life and live free.

Money is one of the most taboo topics we experience in the western world, I’d say even more than sex. Many of us don’t realize that the way we relate to money is usually the same way we relate to our relationships, our confidence, our self-worth, boundaries, and yes our even our sex lives. In this episode, Dylan takes us on his journey to personal sovereignty by debunking the biggest myths we have about money. We discuss exactly how the money we have relates to how we feel about ourselves, we get into covert contracts and intimate relationships and how money plays a massive role in both.

Listen in as Dylan and I uncover the emotions of money.

28 Feb 2023#26 | Are You a Faucet or a Drain? w/ Robert Wunderlich

In this episode Anya hosts 3rd Degree Black belt in Jiu-Jitsu and Certified Uncivilized Men’s Coach, Robert Wunderlich. Robert is building a method to combat isolation and loneliness by fostering a deep connection with oneself and others and his mission is to teach that to as many people as he can.

When I think of what a fighter is, I think of two things; the warrior and a lover. Not many people think about love in the context of fighting. Robert beautifully represents this duality and in this episode we came together to explore the topics of loneliness, connection, and some real talk on what we as modern humans are struggling with. We hit on blind spots, what ‘doing the work’ actually means, the industrial revolution, and modern feminism. Robert also lays out the 5 points of connection and how to combat loneliness in a very specific way.

Robert has a Master’s Degree in Anthropology and worked as a project archeologist for roughly 20 years primarily within the western United States. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2004 under Professor David Ruiz. He competed in local and international tournaments and traveled the country as a referee for F2W Pro. He currently operates the Shokunin Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association and The Academy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Arvada in Arvada, Colorado.

05 Apr 2023#30 | Overcoming Addiction to Find Self Worth w/ Chris Howe

About This Episode

What’s beneath male ego and pride? Usually, massive feelings of unworthiness and self doubt which then manifest as addiction. Addiction comes in many forms but because it’s a symptom to a larger root cause, when the root cause is healed - life changes for the better.

In this episode, Anya hosts recovery speaker Chris Howe as they dive into the male psyche. Chris’s hero’s journey is extremely meaningful for so many people. He’s gone from addiction to being a husband, stepfather, firefighter, and co-owner of his taboo shop (that he owns with his wife). Since overcoming his addiction, Chris has shared his story vulnerably and now is devoted to helping others share theirs through his podcast, Authentic Adversity.

Chris’s willingness to get real and share his greatest fears and feelings of inadequacy is a demonstration of fearlessness and strength that is beyond touching. Our collective mission with this conversation is to help those that listen liberate themselves through their own stories.

19 Apr 2023#31 | Why Equality Kills Attraction w/ Igor Vasilevitsky

More than half of marriages end in divorce, less men are looking for relationships today than ever before, many men are afraid to approach women in public - we’re having a tough time and to help make some sense of what’s going on, I am joined by Igor Vasilevitsy.

Igor is a psychotherapist, healer, and writer with incredible insight into the depths of masculine and feminine psychology. Igor’s storytelling draws on mythology and captivates those listening and his writing is what drew me into his work first, it gets straight to the heart of the matter (linked below)

In this episode learn about why equality kills polarity and why polarity matters for men and women. We also uncover what’s behind rigid and controlling expressions of masculinity, why men love hierarchies, why hollywood ignores the mature masculine, and why men and women generally feel separated these days and what we really crave.

26 Apr 2023#32 | Why Criticism Kills Connection w/ your host Anya Shakh

Anya breaks down why exactly criticism is one of the biggest killers of connection between men and women from an evolutionary perspective. When misunderstood, this dynamic can spiral quickly into a lot of resentment, disconnection, and brokenness but it happens gradually over time so many couples miss the signs. Individually, not many understand the major sex differences that cause men and women to relate to criticism differently so you’ll find that here.

In order to really paint the picture, Anya breaks down how men think of criticism, how women think of it, and what happens when criticism finds itself in between both sexes. Finally, She provides an alternate way of communicating that is far more effective at expressing needs, mishaps, and dislikes that will alleviate tension and confusion. But it takes courage, so I invite you all to be courageous as we journey further together on this quest to build more connection between men and women.

13 May 2023#33 | Understanding the No Fap Movement w/ Nakula Das

Whether we want to admit it or not, sex runs most aspects of our lives so we might as well learn to master our sexual energy as a force for good in the world. For men, this is exactly what is known as sex transmutation or colloquially, No Fap. I have been really fascinated by this movement for years and in this conversation I got to learn so much more than I ever imagined thanks to the man they call, ‘the soldier of semen retention,’ Nakula Das.

Nakula is one of the most fascinating coaches in the personal development space and he’s responsible for the success of over 2000 men in less than two years. His voice and energy are infectious to everyone that listens to him because you can tell just how passionate and invested he in in helpful men (and by default helping women).

This is exactly what this episode is about, it answers the question why is no fap so good for women as well as for men? Expect to learn how no fap supports the masculine journey, how it can help men in both their purpose and their relationships. Learn about the three stages of sex, the five P’s of masculinity, and just why harnessing sexual power is good for our society.

Nakula has amazing resources, here they are:

23 May 2023#34 | 10 Important Lessons from Fatherhood w/ Matt Halson

Fatherhood is one of the most undervalued and misunderstood human experiences that we have today, in my opinion. That matters because as it turns out, when engaged and available fathers are lacking - all sorts of problems arise (macro and micro);

90% of all runaway children are from fatherless homes

80% of children who show behavior issues are from fatherless homes

71% of high school dropouts are from fatherless homes

there are dozens of these statistics…

That doesn’t even take into consideration the homes where fathers are physically present, but emotionally lacking. Lot’s of big problems there too.

The good news is that there are wonderful men stepping up every day all over the world to not only show up as exceptional dads, but teach other men to do the same.

One such man is Matt Halson and for this episode I put a challenge out to him to come up with the 10 biggest lessons he’s learned from dadhood.

He accepted and here are the results. Matt is a husband, father of four, and coach to fathers currently living in Australia.

Whether you are a dad, know a dad, want to be a dad, want to love a dad, or understand your dad - you’ll find some gold in here. Enjoy.

19 Jun 2023#35 | The Five Stages of a Man’s Life w/ your host Anya Shakh

Anya breaks down the five life stages that men experience in their lives. Many misunderstandings between men and women happen because we don’t take into consideration which stage of life a man is currently in and based on that we don’t support what he is prioritizing. We know men are one task at a time people and though this is true on a micro scale, it’s just as true in the macro. What’s important to a man changes five times in his life and in this short episode I break down the five stages and what’s most important about them.

Upon listing to this episode think about what stage you are in (if you are a man) and what stage the men in your life are in (if you are a woman). Get curious about this and ask yourself the following:

Is there support I need (my man needs) that I can communicate?

Is there an assumption that has been made that perhaps isn’t true and we can confront?

If you’re listening to this than you are a man or woman that wants harmony with the opposite sex, but you may experience roadblocks. I’m here to help you clear out those roadblocks and learning the five stages of men is one of those.

07 Feb 2024#45 | Twin Flames: Myth or Truth? w/ Dionna Chambers

Maybe you’ve seen the Twin Flames Universe documentary? Maybe you’ve heard the ‘twin flame’ terminology before? Maybe this is your first time ever hearing those words. Over the years I’ve heard the term a few times, but never really understood what it was all about so I wanted to learn.

I sat down with Dionna Chambers to dive into what the whole ‘twin flame’ journey is all about. She made some really good points and I’m grateful for the conversation. Dionna is a coach that helps founders and entrepreneurs incorporate a more spiritual side to their business and she herself has been on the journey for four years. She went all in on sharing with us her experience, perspective, and takeaways. I honor her vulnerability here.

The idea of ‘Twin Flames’ was popularized in the 1970’s through Elizabeth Prophet’s book ‘Twin Flames and Soulmates.’ Some believe the concept originated in the Ancient Egyptian ‘Book of the Dead,’ while others say the Vedic text ‘Shiva Purana’ contribute to the idea. My big takeaway is that with religion waning in the western world many have turned to the notion of ‘twin flames’ as opposed to soulmates due to it’s more agnostic inclination. Tune in and learn the difference between the two as well as numerous other ways to think about this idea. As always, take what resonates and leave what doesn’t. Happy Listening.

14 Apr 2024#50 | The Masculine Psyche w/ Anya Shakh

What matters to me is men finding their worth.

Why? Because when they don’t, life is dark. As a daughter I lived it. I have always known that the answer is not to blame them, they do enough of that internally. The answer is simply to love them.

It took a while to get there, but over the last few weeks I realized I’ve been heading there before I even understood the why or how. I opened an old sketchbook from my time studying fashion design in Milan (around 2010) and inside is my interpretation of the masculine journey in the most abstract and ‘me’ way possible. His emotions, his desires, his needs, his pain, his joy.

I’ve always wanted to know what makes him feel fulfilled and satisfied in the world? Because when he is at peace, life is a paradise.

My resistance over the past few months has brought me to this place. The type of content I want to create is content that explores the masculine journey. In this 20 minute episode I get into the what, why, and more details about how I got here.

05 Aug 2024#52 | Why Women Love a Masculine Container?

What is a masculine container? Why does it matter? Why do women want to be in one?

I’m in a salsa container, for dancing, not for eating :) and it’s one of the best things in my life. It’s not a class, it’s not a one-off, it’s an experience that has helped me further uncover what it is that women are craving from men in their lives and how men can provide it.

I get into detail about what makes this container so effective and how this salsa metaphor translates directly to intimate relationships between men and women.

Expect to learn what the masculine container’s job is and why it works so well to earn respect and trust from the feminine (and what happens when it breaks).

Question for you: Where in your life are you needing to set up a masculine container or get yourself into one?

12 Aug 2024#53 | What Bonds Men and Women Together?

Last week I watched Skywalkers: A Love Story, the new documentary about Russian daredevil couple, Angela and Vanya and how they got to where they are today: living their dream and in what looks like deep, passionate love.

Upon watching I realized this film presents us with the perfect template of themes and situations that can help us understand what is required to build a true bond between the masculine and feminine.

In this episode I break down the main themes and why they matter to each sex. Through my analysis I showcase how by understanding their importance and living them out loud, we can create a truly fulfilling bond between man and woman.

Question for you: Out of the seven themes mentioned, which feels most important for you in this season of your life?

Have a watch of the documentary, it’s on Netflix.

19 Aug 2024#54 | What the Nice Guy & Cool Girl Have in Common

We’ve all heard the classic line, “you’re a really nice guy but…”

And then he doesn’t get the girl.

So what’s really going on with the nice guy? Why is he like this and what does the cool girl have to do with it?

As a recovery cool girl myself, during this solo episode I break down what’s happening under the surface for people that exhibit nice guy and cool girl behaviors.

Expect to learn what was broken in the developmental process for nice guys and cool girls? What family and friends just don’t understand? What these personas just want more than anything? And very importantly what is needed to break these patterns of behavior and transform into a mature man or woman?

Question: Do you see yourself in any of these behaviors?

26 Aug 2024#55 | A Sovereign Versus an Independent Woman w/ Jamie Crawford

The boss babe, the independent woman, the one that has her own back. We all know her, many of us were her once before, and many are still her today.

What’s going on beneath the tough girl exterior?

The truth is that our natural tendency is towards interdependence, but when we experience an injustice as children, in order to survive we have to build a shield to protect ourselves.

As we grow older, we don’t need that shield anymore but unfortunately it molds into our skin and it becomes the operating system with which experience the world.

In a way the feminist movement came in and found a way to justify that operating system and make it feel like empowerment. This is where we are today with many women finally waking up to a new possibility. A possibility of sovereignty and not independence. The possibility of a bridge instead of a shield.

I’m so pleased to have had wise woman and mental health practitioner Jamie Star Crawford on the podcast to discuss what it means to be a sovereign woman.

Expect to learn what is the purpose of being a woman? What does it mean to be a daughter of God? How can a woman feel safe in her life? Why women become defensive? and What’s possible for women when they wake up to their natural design?

02 Sep 2024#56 | The Right Relationship Between the Human Body & Technology

Is progress always a good thing no matter what? Mass culture seems to tell us that is is, but I’m not so sure. Especially how progress and our bodies intersect. One of the most important questions to ask is what is the right relationship between the human body and technology?

Inspired by Mary Harrington, author of Feminist Against Progress, I lay out some of her ideas and expand on them.

I focus on the birth control pill as the key technological shift that changed the way relationships between men and women work and how women view themselves and their bodies. Expect to learn what is a given? Politics aside, the key difference between progressives and conservatives and why we need to be at the same table? and why sex isn’t just sex?

09 Sep 2024#57 | Why a Woman Can’t See a man’s Potential?

They say don’t date someone’s potential, but I actually think there is way more to it than that. What I believe they mean is don’t date someone based on who you believe they can be without them putting in much effort to be that person. That is completely different from meeting someone at the start or middle of their come up journey and seeing and believing who they are working towards becoming. A woman supporting a man in this way is one of the most powerful things she can do, if she is tapped into her intuition that is.

Expect to learn what holds women back from seeing a man’s potential? What’s a good way to define love win terms of action? What is the analogy of the garden and the gardener? What Beauty and the Beast has to do with it? and much more.

16 Sep 2024#58 | Marriage Through a Jewish Lens w/ Rebbetzin Mushka Plotkin

Marriage has been losing popularity in the west for many decades now and what occurs to me is there is a big misunderstanding about the purpose of marriage and what it entails.

I had the honor of having Rebbetzin Mushka Plotkin on the show to discuss this within the context of a Jewish home. Her and her husband Rabbi Mendy run the Dallas Community Chabad and bring so much light and warmth everywhere they go.

Mushka has a phenomenal perspective on marriage in terms of being a co-creative duo. With Torah teachings and tons of personal examples expect to learn what the distinct roles of men and women are in marriage, how traditional partnership is misunderstood, common mistakes couples make, the four types of intimacy that must present in a thriving marriage, what is the separation and renewal ritual and why it matters, and so much more.

People from many religions and spiritual practices tune into the show, this episode is not meant to be prescriptive, but instead to inspire. This episode sheds light on a beautiful take on marriage that is meaningful and that has been in practice since the very beginning. Take what resonates and leave what doesn't.

A true blessing to have her on the show, enjoy.

23 Sep 2024#59 | The Biggest Difference Between Men and Women Pt 1

In this solo episode I break down exactly why and how we misunderstand each other as men and women so much by getting into the root cause: our difference in focus which affects how we process and behave in the world.

Expect to learn why it’s important to understand the differences between hunters and gatherers so that we can understand our differences in modern times. In addition learn about why men need transition time and women don’t, how women think about combining tasks while men focus on separating them, and so much more.

By understanding our ‘operating systems’ we can harmoniously find fulfillment and satisfaction in our modern world.

30 Sep 2024#60 | The Biggest Difference Between Men and Women Pt 2

This is part 2 of ‘The biggest difference between men and women.’ While in the preceding episode I dive into the root cause of misunderstandings and multiple examples of this, in this episode I double click on one specific difference that fascinates me greatly:

The difference behind why men and women tell stories.

Expect to learn why men tell stories for entertainment while women tell them to gather information, how storytelling raises levels of testosterone in men and creates camaraderie, why repeating stories is rude to women but expected and promoted for men, and so much more.

07 Oct 2024#61 | Understanding the 5 Life Stages of Men

We know men are one task at a time people and though this is true on a micro scale, it’s just as true in the macro. What’s important to a man changes five times in his life and in this short episode I break down the five stages and what’s most important about them.

I get into what men are prioritizing, what they want, and what they can provide in each of the life stages. I also share anecdotes we can all relate to and showcase how women can best support the men in their lives based on which stage they are in.

14 Oct 2024#62 | What the Patriarchy Actually Is - and Why We Need It

I challenge the mainstream narrative surrounding ‘The Patriarchy’ and argue that its true essence is largely misunderstood. I explore what the Patriarchy actually is? How I see it from a female perspective? and What the true cause of dissatisfaction for both women and men is?

I explore how by embracing the benevolent patriarch, we can all better connect to our purpose, our harmony, and divine design as men and women.

21 Oct 2024#63 | Subscriber Q&A: Female happiness, friendships, and Jealousy

This is my first subscriber Q&A. I have a wonderful community of gentlemen that asked fantastic questions. For those that don’t know I do transformational coaching for men so most of my engaged community are gentlemen (with plenty of ladies listening to the podcast too). I go for about twenty minutes for this one, but will make them slightly longer moving forward to have time to answer more questions.

The three questions that I cover here are:

What is jealousy in relationships? What causes it? Is it normal to feel jealous? How can a man overcome these feelings?

What is absolute happiness for a woman?

Can you connect with a lot of modern day women on a personal level? Considering what you share is not synonymous with most women nowadays, do you feel they are not your tribe as you have less in common?

28 Oct 2024#64 | Can men truly be vulnerable without being judged?

The answer is yes - if men have two extremely important factors intact in their lives before being vulnerable. This is really important. Lots of men that talk to me say that vulnerability is hard for them to understand without the fear of being judged. They genuinely cannot foresee expressing vulnerability because in the past they have had it weaponized against them or the woman in question has lost attraction for them.

In this episode I try to highlight a few blind spots that can help paint the bigger picture of what being vulnerable with women can look like in a healthy way (and what might have been missing when vulnerability did not go well in the past).

04 Nov 2024#65 | How Does a Man Access His Zone of Genius?

Hello - I am back with a solo episode and alas we have timestamps. Very excited to officially have those moving forward for all episodes, I know a few of the listeners have been asking.

This episode is an introduction to the masculine spiritual awakening and how a man can find his greatest sense of satisfaction and fulfillment. I utilize the yin/yang to showcase the four step process and how it works.

When done correctly this is the path towards:

A man’s purpose and potential

The relationships he deeply desires

Ultimately building his legacy

and it’s all about feminine integration because without that, the masculine cannot be his most potent self.

11 Nov 2024#66 | What’s Behind the Perception that Men ‘Lack Concern’?

In a recent study out of the Czech Republic, it’s reported that women are envious of men for their ‘lack of concern’(among other things). I recently had a few women mention to me that they feel so anxious all the time , meanwhile their partners seem to not be carrying as much ‘mental load.’

What’s actually going on here? It’s definitely not lack of concern. It all comes back to our differences as hunters versus gatherers. Women often experience heightened anxiety do to the way their brains constantly pull them in different direction, whereas men are focused and linear aiming for and executing one task at a time. I reframe some of the misconceptions women have about men and share some practical ways men and women can communicate more effectively.

18 Nov 2024#67 | Is There a Natural Hierarchy Between Men and Women?

In this episode I dissect the meaning behind some hot-button words like hierarchy, authority, and patriarchy to showcase that many of our misunderstandings are a product of nomenclature discrepancies and misinterpretations, not malicious intent.

Danish Author Tor Nørretranders has an important insight in his work, The User Illusion, about how as humans we feel more than we know and we know more than we can say. Therefore based on the fact that what is said is a tiny fraction of a larger picture of feeling, misinterpretations happen so easily and consistently.

Based on that I get into some important questions including is hierarchy and authority a bad thing? a good thing? How do we interpret this?

25 Nov 2024#68 | Differentiating Attraction Versus Bonding Between Men and Women

In this episode I share a high level overview of the different ways that men and women experience attraction and pair bonding based on their respective hormones. I discuss the foundational pull between the masculine and feminine poles and how the instinctual desires men and women have are related to the hormones they release at different times within dating and mating. I highlight the core four hormones: serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin, and vasopressin. I also address the perception that men do not desire commitment and get into what’s really happening in those situations.

02 Dec 2024#69 | One Missing Piece in the Debate About Men and Women

With men ‘falling behind’ women in many aspects of life from university attendance to career success, the question being asked is ‘How do we help men find success and meet women where they are?” While valid, I believe it’s fundamentally the wrong question because it ignores a foundational principle about men and women: men don’t want to compete with women, they want to care for women.

I explore some history and including Agrarian times and the 1950s American housewife/breadwinner era. This episode discusses how Industrial capitalism actually played a much bigger role in the division of men and women than most people recognize. I also get into the foundational difference that acknowledges how men love things, while women love people and why that’s an important piece within this conversation of how to bring men and women back together.

When asking the question how do we get men to be great again? The answer revolves around coming back to an understanding that femininity thrives in a masculine container, and masculine containers thrive thanks to female inspiration and admiration.

09 Dec 2024#70 | The Art of Masculine Provision

I explore what I’m calling the art of masculine provision because it goes so far beyond finances and shelter. Men have a huge capacity to provide intellectual, spiritual, and emotional guidance that’s often missed and misunderstood. I get into the core desires of men and women, why understanding provision matters so much, and how this provision can be understood in modern relationship dynamics. Finally I describe how the connection women crave is tied directly into embracing and appreciating the full breadth of masculine provision

16 Dec 2024#71 | What’s Behind the Female Desire for Male Guidance?

There’s that moment in the film when the woman turns to the man during a crisis and says, “what are we going to do now?” Contrary to mainstream beliefs that say this makes women look helpless, this is actually the instinctual female desire to be guided at play here.

I get into our survival instincts and how and why relationships play such a big role for women. I dive into detail about diffused awareness and how it works in real life with a few examples. I cover an important yin/yang principle that celebrates the richness of both masculine and feminine strengths and weaknesses and how they help each other. 23 Dec 2024#72 | Honoring and Receiving Masculine Provision w/ Courtney Ballard

It’s not trad wife or boss babe, but it’s something else entirely.

I had the privilege of hosting Courtney Ballard on the show to have a conversation about understanding masculine provision from a female perspective. She is a beautiful writer, creator, sourdough bread extraordinaire, homemaker, and friend. Author of the book Devoted, where she poetically describes how by becoming devoted to receiving and honoring masculine provision, she has become her true self.

We get to heart of why relationships are so dysfunctional these days? What’s the distinction between our gifts as women and our purpose? How different intentions create different results? What is masculine provision and how can women honor and receive it? What do many women misunderstand about provision? How do men and women mirror each other upon entering partnership? How do truly provisioning men care for women and their families? What does it mean for a women to walk through the fire before she can receive fully from a man?

30 Dec 2024#73 | What’s Missing Within the Myths of Matriarchies?

In this episode I share some of my findings on the mythology of matriarchies. I share some insights from late activist Russell Means (Lakota tribe) and some work from late Lithuanian Archeologist and anthropologist Marija Gimbutas. people throw around the words matriarchy and patriarchy these days without really defining what their intention is and how they ‘should’ function. I think it’s interesting to dive into what these really mean. True matriarchies as in societies ‘ruled by mothers’ have been written about by numerous scholars and writers and they all revolve around similar themes and attributes. While there’s a deeply beautiful reverence for motherhood within the mythology and literature, it leaves out men in a big way that is harmful.

Listen for insights about how ‘mother’ tribes are described? What were the politics and social structures in those tribes? What was missing? How do we honor and appreciate the father? Are men innately driven towards warrior-ship? And more.

06 Jan 2025#74 | How A Man’s No is Linked to his Care and Provision

With great power comes great responsibility.

In this episode I dive into the link between duty, honor, and accountability and how these are all uniquely male attributes that require reverence. I talk about how the masculine drive towards these things shapes our relationships in positive ways and when appreciated how much that grows. I also get into one blind spot men have when focusing on accountability and making big-picture plans. - women often feel unheard and not considered. I share an example for how men can help their women feel understood, considered, and connected while staying true to their boundaries and veto power through their ‘no.’ Ultimately this episode tries to paint the picture for how masculine veto power is linked to care, provision, and a devotion to the well being of others as opposed to control.

Listen to learn about how duty connects to accountability? What are the intangible male traits that matter most? Why have women been over-developing masculine traits? How does honor and accountability go together? and why that gives a man veto power? and more.

13 Jan 2025#75 | Our Evolutionary Past as Hunters & Gatherers w/ Elena Bridgers

Were hunter gatherers patriarchal or matriarchal?

Neither.

I had the privilege of hosting Elena Bridgers on the show to have a conversation about understanding our evolutionary past as hunter gatherers. Elena is a science writer, content creator and mom of two with a special fascination in hunter-gatherer societies and human evolution, specifically as it relates to motherhood. Elena has published in peer-reviewed scientific journals and major media outlets on these topics, grown an Instagram following from 0 to over 50,000 in just a few months, and is working on a book.

We dove into how motherhood has always been at the heart of societal structures until very recently. What was motherhood like in our evolutionary past? Why does motherhood feel so hard for many women in the modern context? Exploring immediate return tribes versus those who stockpile resources. How much leisure time did our ancestors have? Understanding the beginnings of the warrior class and why were immediate return hunter gatherers serial monogamists? How we’re suffering in the modern world due to lack of communal support and more.

27 Jan 2025#77 | Understanding Masculine and Feminine Principles PT 1

“Beauty is the harmony of purpose and form.”  Scandinavian architect and designer Alvor Aalto, 1928

I love this quote because to me it represents the perfect harmony of yin and yang, yin being form and yang being function. Masculinity brings order, logic, and effectiveness while femininity fosters connection, intuition, and feeling. When one is missing we lose balance.

In this episode I start exploring why masculinity is the foundation upon which femininity thrives and why its absence is unraveling society. I talk about Zuckerberg’s comments on masculinity and corporate culture, a story about a workshop I hosted that paints the picture about the differences between men and women, the 99% of good men in the world that are often ignored, why we started to push away from femininity in the west, and more.

03 Feb 2025#78 | Understanding Masculine and Feminine Principles PT 2

In this episode I get deeper into those two principles and what they are made of.
