Henning, an Aston Villa fan from Norway, explained how the bot he created worked, his thoughts on being at the centre of a big football story, and his feelings about the reports that Villa had banned their players from taking part in Fantasy Football since last week's events.

This week saw one of the most shocking 48 hours in football history as the Premier League's so-called 'Big Six' signed-up to a new 'Super League' alongside European heavyweights including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus.

Almost immediately there was heavy opposition to the Super League from fans, European governments, German football clubs, non 'Big Six' Premier League clubs, British Royals, UEFA, FIFA and more. The scale of anger led to a majority of the clubs who had signed up to withdraw from the Super League within 48 hours of it being officially announced.

In an interview special, we spoke to CBS Sports reporter and Aston Villa fan Jonathan Johnson about how the Super League collapsed and what it could have meant for Villa if the plans had succeeded. We also looked at the new rules for the Champion League, which include qualification based on historical performance, and whether they might affect Villa should they ever finish in the top four of the Premier League.

In the latest episode from our 'All Villans' series, Roisin and Frankie meet the co-founder and participants from the Midnight Ramadan League in Birmingham.

The Midnight Ramadan League was originally set up with help from the Aston Villa Foundation and has recently been promoted in a FIFA 21 advert by video game maker EA Sports. It was created to give Muslims somewhere to play football during the holy month of Ramadan after they had broken their fast at night, though anyone is allowed to take part in the League.

Frankie spoke with co-founder of the Midnight Ramadan League, Obayed Hussain, who explained how and why he set it up.

Roisin also travelled to one of the midnight games where she spoke to players from the League and a member of Villans Together, an official Aston Villa fans for diversity group.

Whilst understandable that an individual of Grealish's quality would want to play Champions League football, our hosts make the case that Villa are on track to reach that level and can also compete for trophies this season. With an ever improving first team, the country's best youth set-up, serious owners and more exciting signings to come, we believe now is not the time for anyone to leave.

Frankie also makes the case it is time for Aston Villa to look at the northern powerhouse clubs who have taken some of our best players over the years and finally stop that trend and aim to knock them off their perch. If clubs like Atletico Madrid and Spurs, once seen as 'nearly clubs', can make the Champions League final, why can't we dare to dream?

Aston Villa made a number of signings over the summer and one of the most eye-catching names to arrive at Villa Park was Leon Bailey.

The Jamaican international was signed from German side Bayer Leverkusen for around £30 million and proves Villa are capable of attracting leading names in football.

John 'Dixie' Deehan grew up an Aston Villa fan and got to live the dream of every Holte Ender by wearing the Claret & Blue jersey and scoring goals for his boyhood team. From 1975-79, John was part of a famous attacking force alongside the brilliant Andy Gray and Brian Little and eventually returned to Villa as assistant manager in 2001. He scored more than 50 goals during his time at the club and won the 1977 League Cup.

In our interview, John describes growing up an Aston Villa fan, getting scouted and making his first team debut at the age of 18. John vividly recalls playing for the great Ron Saunders and sharing goals with Gray and Little. There are also recollections of Villa's famous 5-1 win over a then mighty Liverpool side, winning the League Cup in dramatic fashion against Everton, scoring a late equaliser in front of the Holte against Johan Cruyff's Barcelona and being forced to escape as Rangers fans invaded the pitch at Villa Park.

This week, Steven Gerrard was appointed as the new Aston Villa manager to replace the departed and much loved Dean Smith. Gerrard joined from current Scottish Champions Rangers, where he spent three years and guided the club to their first title in a decade. Whilst winning the league, Rangers conceded just 13 goals all season and went unbeaten. The Glasgow side were also impressive in Europe, picking up wins over Porto, Feyenoord and Galatasaray.

On the day Gerrard joined Villa, Frankie spoke to Alex Anderson, a football writer and contributor to the popular Rangers podcast Gersnet. Alex believes Villa have 'won the lottery' in appointing Gerrard and his coaching staff. He explained what tactics and approach Villa fans might expect to see from Gerrard's team over the coming seasons. Alex also revealed which Rangers players he thinks could be a target for Villa if Gerrard decides to return to Ibrox for some signings.

Over the last week, Villa right-back Matty Cash has made his debut for Poland. Qualifying to represent the country through his mother, Cash played against Hungary and Andorra during the most recent international break.

To find out more about how Cash performed for Poland, George spoke to author and Polish football expert Ryan Hubbard. Ryan explained how Cash came to play for the Polish national team, his two performances so far, and how the country has reacted to his arrival on the international scene.

Ryan is also the author of 'From Partition to Solidarity: The first 100 years of Polish football'.

The new Villa manager Steven Gerrard continued his impressive start to life at his new club with a second win a row. Villa were well organised and creative going forward in a highly impressive 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace. The Eagles, who were unbeaten at home this season, created little as Villa's defence and midfield held firm.

Frankie and George have high praise for the midfield three of Marvelous Nakamba, Jacob Ramsey and John McGinn, who all worked incredibly hard to protect the defence and provide chances for the attackers. They also recognise the contributions of the ageless Ashley Young, Leon Bailey and Ollie Watkins in the front three. Overall, it was a really impressive display from the entire team.

In the 'Spicy Question' feature, George & Frankie give their thoughts on Morgan Sanson. Should Villa stick with the injury-prone midfielder or sell/loan him in the transfer window?

We also look ahead to this Wednesday's big night out at Villa Park against Manchester City. 'Rivalries' is a series where we meet fans from opposition clubs to talk over the latest Aston Villa games.

This week, ahead of Wednesday's match against Manchester City, Frankie met City fan David Mooney, who hosts the 'Blue Moon' podcast and The Athletic's 'Why Always Us?'.

Recently appointed Villa manager Steven Gerrard experienced his first loss with the club in a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City. Pep Guardiola's side were impressive from the outset and scored an incredible team goal through Bernardo Silva, but Villa fought back impressively in the second-half.

Villa's overall display filled both George and Frankie with optimism. They have high praise for the midfield, especially Douglas Luiz, and credit Ollie Watkins for giving City's defence a tough night.

They also address Jack Grealish's mixed reaction on his return to Villa Park.

George & Frankie discuss how the game followed a similar pattern to the previous City match, where Villa were somewhat unconvincing in the first-half but raised their game impressively in the second-half.

There is high praise again for Marvelous Nakamba and especially John McGinn, who was exceptional at Villa Park. George & Frankie also discuss Gerrard's tactical approach and how Villa looked comfortable and effective at changing formation during a game.

In the 'Spicy Question' feature, the hosts give their thoughts on whether Tyrone Mings has done enough to keep the Villa captaincy (spoiler alert, they both really like Mings).

We also look ahead to Saturday's game at Anfield against a hugely in-form Liverpool. Coutinho has generated huge excitement amongst the Villa fanbase and represents an ambitious move for the Midlands club. He joins Villa after a disappointing spell at Barcelona, who signed him for a club record fee of £142 million in 2018.

Juventus midfielder, Rodrigo Bentancur, has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League side Aston Villa. The Uruguayan international has played for the Italian club for five seasons, having moved to Juventus from Boca Juniors in 2017.

To find out more, Frankie met Adam Digby, a Juventus reporter for Forbes & author of 'Juventus: A History in Black and White'. He explained what Villa fans might expect from Bentancur and why Juventus might be willing to sell their midfielder.

Should the transfer go ahead, Bentancur would represent another ambitious move by Villa. The club has signed Coutinho, Lucas Digne, Robin Olsen and Kerr Smith during the January transfer window, with manager Steven Gerrard still eager to get more business done.

Calum Chambers has signed for Aston Villa on a free transfer from Arsenal. The versatile defender reportedly signed a three year contract with the club.

Chambers is best known as a central defender and right-back. He has endured some frustrating injuries in recent years but also won Player of The Season when he was on loan at Fulham in 2018/19. He spent the year playing in defensive midfield, which again showed his versatility.

We met Andrew Mangan from Arseblog to discuss Chambers' key attributes and his thoughts on the player's time at Arsenal.

Frankie flies solo this week to describe Villa's magnificent 4-0 victory over Southampton. The Saints were in very good form going into the match, but a Coutinho-inspired Villa made them look utterly ordinary at the weekend.

Frankie has high praise for every player and focuses on what has changed since the Watford and Newcastle defeats. Ultimately, in both the Brighton and Southampton games, Villa have looked more cohesive and solid defensively.

We also look ahead to Villa's trip to Elland Road on Thursday. Can Villa keep up their good form as Leeds fight to stay above the relegation places? Have we learnt our lessons after blowing a 3-1 lead against the same team a few weeks ago? Let's hope!

Aston Villa have attacked the summer transfer window at speed. Steven Gerrard's side have completed the signing of Coutinho from Barcelona and swiftly followed that up with the free transfer of Boubacar Kamara.

The highly-rated Frenchman left Marseille at the end of his contract and was heavily linked with Atletico Madrid, Manchester United & West Ham.
