The LA Kings selected defenseman Matthew Mania in the 5th round (150th overall) of the 2023 Entry Draft. Mania spent the 2022-23 season with the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL and will likely return for the 2023-24 season. Rookie defenseman Mikey Anderson scored his first NHL goal and Jonathan Quick stopped 21 of 22 shots to secure the win. In August of 2022 the LA Kings team from 2012 gathered to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their Stanley Cup victory. Selected 83rd overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Laferriere spent the past two seasons in the NCAA playing for the Harvard Crimson before joining the Ontario Reign for the past four games. Scott Wheeler wrote an article, in The Athletic, about LA Kings prospect Arthur Kaliyev that included a quote claiming "‘He’ll be one of the best players in the world." Wheeler spoke to Kaliyev's coaches, members of the LA Kings development staff and Kaliyev himself for the article.  The topics range from his development as a player, to his presence in the locker room and his experience at the NHL Entry Draft.

Rasmus Kupari has two points, a goal and an assist, and has impressed in his first two games for the Ontario Reign. The 19 year old Finnish forward spoke about the start of his season, the similarities between Kotka and LA and how he's adapting to a smaller ice surface. 

Goalie expert Cat Silverman took a look at every goal allowed against Edmonton and Vancouver. Jonathan Quick allowed 14 goals in two games but was victimized by some defensive mistakes and bad bounces.

The LA Kings selected forward Ryan Conmy in the 6th round (182nd overall) of the 2023 Entry Draft. Conmy spent the 2022-23 season with the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL and will play for the University of New Hampshire for the 2023-24 season. Curtis Anderson, play-by-play announcer for the Musketeers, joined host Jesse Cohen to discuss Conmy's season in Sioux CIty. LA Kings Director of Amatuer Scouting Mark Yannetti discusses the Kings thought process behind the pick and finally Scott Wheeler (The Athletic) gives Jesse and Zach Dooley his personal scouting report on the young forward.

The LA Kings cancelled their scheduled practice on Wednesday morning following a disappointing 9-8 overtime loss to the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday. Shortly after practice was canceled, it was reported by various outlets that goaltender Cal Petersen had been placed on waivers.
