Thanks to that, Evan has developed a reputation as a pioneer in digital filmmaking, consistently pushing the bounds of new technologies to create innovative and inspired works.

He also regales us with his storied history as the writer of the beloved CBS animated series, Garfield and Friends. 

Mark also shares with us how San Diego Comic-Con began as well as how he made it an even bigger event by including voice actors on his panels. Finally, we also talk about the changes he’s seen at Comic-Con over the years and what to expect in the future.

In this week’s episode, I am joined by the electrifying Sarah Natochenny. She was only 19 years old when she replaced Veronica Taylor as the voice of Ash Ketchum in the English dub of Pokémon, starting at its ninth season. Since then, Sarah has gone on to play a slew of other fantastic characters, including Alicia in the 2006 video game Bullet Witch, Aura Sentia in Yu-Gi-Oh!, as well as Marian on Robin Hood. Apart from being a voice actress, Sarah is also a film editor, having worked as the primary editor for networks such as MSNBC and an assistant editor on the films Life of Crime, Cold Comes the Night, Worst Friends, and Cruise.

Sarah’s journey has had many twists and turns, all of which have led to fantastic and meaningful places. Join us as we talk about her journey into becoming a bronze-medal rhythmic gymnast and how she relates her experience in conquering the challenges of rhythmic gymnastics with her voice acting career. This week’s guest has made a name for himself creating incredible characters within the on-camera and voice over world. David H. Lawrence is best known for his portrayal of the villainous character, puppetmaster Eric Doyle on NBC’s sci-fi series, Heroes. Aside from this major role, David has also appeared in a number of other shows including CBS shows such as The Unit and CSI. Apart from on-camera and voice acting, David is also a network radio host, author, podcast host, and teacher to aspiring voice actors and audiobook narrators. He is also the creator of the rehearsal app, Rehearsal Pro, which helps actors rehearse and memorize scripts anytime, anywhere.

An unexpectedly fire duo joins us in this week’s episode! Voice actor, producer, and screenwriter Yuri Lowenthal best known as the voice of Sasuke in Naruto, teenage Ben Tennyson in Ben 10, and Peter Parker/Spider Man in various video games has an exciting new project. Yuri just worked together with LA hip hop artist Big Lugg to create an album that is, in its own way, a first of its kind: the hip-hop album FIRE STYLE! (featuring the cast of Naruto). Now, Yuri and Big Lugg are giving us the lowdown on how it happened!

Yuri shares how this unexpected collaboration started thanks when Big Lugg reached out to him with an uncanny request. He then goes on to tell us about how they started their collaboration which resulted in the creation of the 2-minute track Prayer which definitely thrilled Naruto fans! Big Lugg also joins us to share some insights and anecdotes about working with the Naruto cast while creating the album.

With Apex Legends having such a dedicated fan base, I just had to bring in one of my favorite VO artists out there. Today we are joined by the multi-talented, sassy scot, Elle Newlands, who voices the beloved scientist-slash-badass, Horizon.

Most of us developed our love and talent for animation and video games ever since we were young. That love has shaped how we lived our lives. And while we are on the subject of developing talent from a young age, our adorable guest today is the youngest voice actor to have ever been nominated for a prestigious Annie Award! That’s right! Our guest is none other than Juliet Donenfeld! 

Juliet, despite her young age, has been in so many big productions. She’s been in numerous national commercials. She has been an on-screen actress, playing the role of J.J. on The Big Show Show and Kaylee from Better Call Saul. And of course, voicing numerous characters like Sally the Squirrel from Pete the Cat and Cakey from Gabby’s Dollhouse. Rise Up Animation is all about giving the members of the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) community an equal chance at a career in animation. Monica, together with 3 other co-founders, established this nonprofit organization to offer free advice, portfolio and resume feedback, and even mentorship. What makes cartoon and video game characters so memorable? Well, apart from their distinctive design, voice actors also play a big role in breathing life to these characters. This week I am joined by the talented Sean-Ryan Petersen, best known for his role as Valentino in the Cartoon Network show Victor and Valentino. Sean-Ryan stepped into the wonderful world of voice acting at a very young age, and has already had the opportunity to meet and work with the artists who gave life to the characters he grew up watching.

This week, we are joined by none other than the multi-faceted and multi-talented voice actor and ADR director,  Ezra Weisz, who is currently directing the English dub of Miraculous Tales of LadyBug and Cat Noir. Ezra has done voices for many anime shows including Code Geass, The Outlaw, Bleach, and Vampire Knight, as well as a number of animated films such as Akira and Paprika. Ezra truly embodies the spirit of an entertainer!

In this week’s episode, we are joined by animation legend Tom Ruegger, the creator of Animaniacs, Pinky & The Brain, and Tiny Toons. Tom has been in the animation industry for over four decades and has worked on some of the most memorable cartoons at Warner Brothers, Hanna-Barbera, and Disney. He has won seventeen Emmy Awards for his work that has defined generations of childhoods across the world. To say that I am thrilled to finally sit down with Tom is an understatement!

Tune in as Tom takes us back to his journey to fully realizing his animator dreams (you won’t believe what the final straw was for Tom to leave New Jersey!) and the events that led him to work amongst animation’s biggest names in the 80s. Olivia Hack became a part of the creative industry when she was just eight months old, starring in a Minolta commercial. She has since made quite a name for herself in the voice acting community, and has lent her voice talents to a spectacular range of characters over the years. Some of her best known characters include Ty Lee from Avatar: The Last Airbender, Cloe in the Bratz show, and Rhonda Wellington Lloyd from Hey Arnold! She has also done plenty of voice acting work for several video games, including Final Fantasy X-2 and the Avatar: The Last Airbender games. 

Join us, as Olivia talks about her experiences as a child voice actor in the industry and the many crazy (mis)adventures she’s gone through throughout her career! In addition to this, Olivia also shares why she absolutely loves taking part in conventions. Linsay takes us down the rabbit hole to talk about her early life and how it has helped keep her grounded while performing today, plus her musical foundations!
